  1. Whitley will be fine once he gets his eyelids unjammed and is able to breathe through them properly.
  2. Hell no! Only trade minor league players that won't help you this year. And I would only trade for a Barraclough if there were no Applefritters available.
  3. Keuchel did well his last game, which was also against Duffy and the Royals. Hopefully he can build on that so he won't have anything to bitch about in his post-game interview.
  4. Altuve hit a home run several innings earlier to tie the game at 1-1. The back-back-back HR's were in the 6th.
  5. Here's the Astros home-road records for the last five years as well as runs scored and allowed at home and on the road. HOME RECORD ROAD RECORD TOTAL RECORD 2014 38-43 32-49 70-92 2015 53-28 33-48 86-76 2016 43-38 41-40 84-78 2017 48-33 53-28 101-61 2018 (current) 20-15 29-11 49-26 2018 (projected) 46-35 59-22 105-57 RUNS - RUNS ALLOWED RUNS - RUNS ALLOWED HOME ROAD 2014 318-362 311-361 2015 367-281 362-337 2016 334-303 390-398 2017 395-327 501-373 2018 (current) 143-114 246-118 2018 (projected) 331-264 498-239 Of course, the Astros have only played 35 out of 81 home games so they have plenty of time to improve on their run totals at home. Something that I find interesting is that in 2014 and 2015 they basically scored the same amount of runs at home and on the road. Starting in 2016, they started scoring more on the road then at home. I would have thought the change would have started last year when they got rid of the high strikeout guys and focused more on contact than the all-or-nothing approach of previous years.
  6. You have it all wrong. Your wife and I had a marathon session before you went on your vacation. Her 12 orgasms that day are the cause of the streak. If you want to do your part for the team, you just need to let your wife stay at home while you go on your vacation.
  7. And now there's this:
  8. This doesn't seem to be a major announcement:
  9. That pitcher got Beer Battered!!
  10. The Pylon 7 on 7 National Tournament in Atlanta June 15-17th. I read about it in this month's issue of Obscure Sports Quarterly.
  11. It's the aggy rollercoaster. They start off pretty well, but then all hell breaks loose.
  12. A lot of great quotes from that article:
  13. Rangers have left 10 on base after 4.
  14. Wow. Morton the first pitcher since 1913 to walk 4, hit 4 and strikeout 4 in a game.
  15. Shock, another double play.
  16. Expecting him to change on his own is definitely not realistic. Hinch needs to give him some incentive to change.
  17. It was last season, either during a pre-game show or the weekly "Bases Loaded" type show. I remember thinking at the time "Wow, that explains a lot of things!" I was hoping that his problems from last post-season made him more open to constructive criticism, because he has obvious talent, but it doesn't seem there has been a change.
  18. No, Giles just needs to be a fucking professional. He shouldn't care if it is a "save situation" or not. Every appearance is one that the team needs him at his best. If he can't perform without the pressure of a "save situation" tell him that the starting pitcher, Bregman, and Reddick get to kick him in the balls once for every run he gives up. Every appearance now becomes a "save your balls situation". All three (Verlander, Cole, Morton) have shown an openness and humility that enabled them to buy in to the Astros pitching philosophy. Giles has expressed that he doesn't really listen to anybody's advice and that he knows himself better than anyone.
  19. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of The Green Berets. And John Wayne made quite a few mediocre movies. But nothing remotely compares to The Conqueror.
  20. The story for tonight, they hit HR's and we hit into DP's.
  21. Reddick will be batting 6th tomorrow, JD Davis will be optioned down.
  22. I don't know how Keuchel would react to a move to the bullpen. The more likely move would be for him to feel a little "tweak" and go on the 10 day DL, followed by a brief rehab stint in Corpus.
  23. The Astros have mastered grounding into a double play, so they can stop practicing that.
