  1. He did a great job getting in and staying in the spotlight with town halls. I think his election campaign starts with the same formula and he has no problem keeping the spotlight on him. Over time he will only get better and adapt to nationwide strategies.
  2. When a critique has no intellectual basis I consider it an attack. The O&G money is a good example. In order to make a valid comparison to other politicians one must consider the donations as a percentage of their total while factoring in the percentage of GDP that O&G has in their state or district. It is also important to distinguish small individual donations from PACs. Given the percentage of Beto's total donations and the percentage of state GDP, Beto did not receive very much from the O&G sector and it was individual contributions. The M4A thing is similarly irrational. Progressives claim that if you don't support M4A a person is not a progressive when M4A is only a label and has nothing really to do with a realistic implementation such as Bernie's 2017 bill. Realizing that, Beto refers to the more generalized term universal healthcare. The progressives then say he is wisshy-washy or not progressive and a centrist, and can probably be manipulated by big healthcare to stop M4A. Then the centrist and rightist Dems and big healthcare are thinking Beto and Biden are both going to stop M4A, so they are good candidates for them. None of us know how hard Beto would push for M4A if elected or if he would cave to corporate interests. The kill ICE thing is another. Beto did not line up behind killing ICE because he recognizes that there are a number of ways to restructure the immigration system, so progressives say he is not progressive enough. This is a stupid attack, not a rational critique.
  3. There are already programs written that do this and aren't as expensive as consultants.
  4. The 2 million plus voters who vote in 2020 who did not vote in 2018 will come almost entirely from urban and suburban areas.
  5. The last couple weeks have been interesting as it seems that Obama supporters are gravitating to Beto and more broadly centrists are as well as they move away from Biden. Mainstream media is using a lot more Beto photos to headline articles about the race instead of Biden. The Democratic machine looks like it is trying to cut off a crazy 20 person primary race by determining the favorites early. The far left progressives that I listen to are ramping up their attacks on Beto, saying he is not progressive enough. They are still focused on Bernie or maybe Warren, but the Indian thing has cost Warren a lot. The progressive media seems to think that the centrists will put their support behind Beto and make him the favored candidate of the party machine. Assuming Beto announces in early January it will be interesting to see how rapidly supporters come out for him.
  6. There will be over 2 million people who vote in Texas in 2020 who did not vote in 2018. How do you know how they will vote? Perhaps a million of them may be under 30 and they alone could make up the 216,000 Beto lost by. Beto looks healthy and level-headed next to Trump.
  7. In that case the house dems should refuse to approve his replacement.
  8. What? You don't go to bars where stuff like that happens?
  9. To the op. I do know a guy in his mind 60s who likes to show a bar girl a 50 peso note (~90 cents) and when she comes over he puts his hands inside her top to play with her titties and tweaks her nipples and then sticks the 50 in her panties and sticks a finger inside her leaving the 50. He will usually do that to 10 girls in each club he goes too. He says he does it so they remember him, especially if he decides to ask them over for boom-boom and bj later for which he refuses to pay more than $13. While none of the girls like it, many allow it since the money means they can get some food later, particularly the ones who are new or not so good looking. A kilo of rice costs 40-50 pesos, so it is a pretty big deal to many people. I cannot personally be that disrespectful to a woman and don't care to hang out with him. He does have people copy him around AC if that is what makes you happy.
  10. I recommend living someplace where women just walk up to you and say "I go home with you."
  11. I just saw a daikykos poll on favorite 2020 Democratic candidates and with 489 reponses. 27% Beto, 17% Kamala, 9% Biden, 7% Bernie, 5% Warren and others.
  12. Yes, He should fact check and retweet every single Trump tweet as soon as possible.
  13. History does not provide proof that gods cannot exist while science does.
  14. Science education.
  15. Politico is actively opposing progressive issues and specifically Medicare for all. So, they have been actively promoting Biden. Politico is not a politically neutral news source and anything they publish should be viewed with their corporate slant in mind.
  16. When did a pillow fight become felony assault? Next they'll say it is felony assault for spanking a girl on the ass while doing her doggy style.
  17. I am hopeful that undoing the gerrymandering in 2021 will help the Democrats minimize loses in 2022 even though it is the first midterm of a new Democratic president.
  18. Beto does not need much help with the ticket, but someone who would cement the Pa, Wi, and Mi vote could help. I am thinking more toward getting legislation passed and putting a senator in charge of the Senate is usually a good idea.
  19. Beto needs a political insider as a vp, preferably a senator. And it would not hurt if it is someone from the Midwest. Sherrod Brown? Better yet, Klobuchar.
  20. I saw a clip of Bernie saying he plans to propose that Medicare be extended to 55 year olds during the next session as a first step toward implementing his main bill which could only pass when Democrats control both houses and the presidency.
  21. Neoprene rubber is a translucent white before they add color, so it would be easy to do.
  22. Well over a million of those votes will come from the overwhelmingly Democratic counties, or counties trending Democratic by 3 to 4% every two years.
  23. The bigger issue for me is that we cannot have the cost of healthcare roughly doubling every 10 years. We need to get costs under control and keep increases in line with inflation. Private corporations do not like their growth capped at the rate of inflation.
  24. That and the last three Republican presidents won their first election by legitimate means. There may have been no Republican presidents after Reagan if it was not for their dirty tricks.
  25. As I mentioned before from 2012 to 2016, while the states on average went 4.5% more Republican, Texas went 6% more Democratic. Texas had the second biggest Democratic shift behind California (not counting Utah). The 2018 results largely fell on the same trend line in the largest counties. I expect that trend will continue through 2020. In real terms that means another net gain of 600,000 or so Democratic votes.
