  1. That is a mischaracterization. My work is based on quantum field theory and I (and others) have shown that all physics can be accounted for with electromagnetic theory. So, I agree with the bulk of electromagnetic theory. Also, I challenge anyone to develop a system of reasoning that does not contain elements that are equivalent to the scientific method.
  2. There are two branches of philosphy. One follows the rules of rational thought that incorporate the scientific method and where hypotheses are vetted based on being consistant with reproducible observations and experiments. This branch includes the sciences. In the second branch of philosophy hypotheses are vetted based on being consistent with fiction. This is the irrational branch of philosophy.
  3. Including Avenatti in the lawsuit was either a big mistake or their strategy for releasing the true information. I am guessing the later.
  4. The scientific method is nothing more than a slightly detailed explanation of the process of rational thinking. You cannot have rational thinking without the scientific method, although you can add more detailed steps. Belief and faith are inherently irrational thinking as they skip the step of verifying a hypothesis by testing it against reproducible observations and/or experiments.
  5. Trump and the Republican congress have managed to fail at implementing much of the Republican platform or implemented it in such a way that is perceived as overwhelmingly negative by most of the population. There are over 100 goals outlined in the platform, so this is only a subset. Tax bill with simplified tax code and reduced corporate taxes – 34% support for finished bill “A Winning Trade Policy” – 74% of businessmen think Trump’s policies will be negative for the economy “Restoring Patient Control and Preserving Quality in Healthcare” (aka. Destroy ACA) – 16% approve of the Republican bill while 58% disapprove (Quinnipiac) Repeal Dodd-Frank – Failed to repeal but passed a rollback – 59% of voters approved of Dodd-Frank “Reducing the Federal Debt” – oops Appoint Republican judges – And mobilize democratic voters “Administrative Law” (aka weaken the executive branch) - hahahahahaha “Defending Marriage against an Activist Judiciary” – 67% approve of same sex marriage “Second Amendment: Our Right to Keep and Bear Arms” – 66% support stricter gun laws, 97% support universal background checks, 83% support a waiting period, 67% support a ban on assault weapons (Quinnipiac) “The Fifth Amendment: Protecting Human Life” – 63% approve of Roe v Wade “Abundant Harvests” (support agriculture) – Except when hurting it with a trade war Withdraw from climate change agreement – 64% people agree there is man caused climate change (Gallup) Dismantle EPA – 67% think the EPA should be strengthened (Environmental Defense Fund 2017) “Balancing the Budget” – hahahaha “Preserving Medicare and Medicaid” - if “preserving” means planning to cut funding “Saving Social Security” - if “saving” means planning to cut funding “Protecting Internet Freedom” – instead they repeal net neutrality which has 60% public support “Immigration and the rule of law” - The screwed up DACA (83% approve of citizenship for Dreamers, Gallup), child separation policy (66% disapprove), 75% of public support immigration, 57% oppose the border wall (Gallup) “Advancing Term Limits” – when pigs fly “Crony Capitalism and Corporate Welfare” – this must be the opposite administration Approve Puerto Rico as the 51st state – The governor recently asked and of course Trump said no. “Confronting the Dangers” (Muslim Travel Ban) – started with good approval ratings but has swung negative Rescind Iran Deal – 63% thought we should not withdraw (CNN). “Unequivocal Support for Israel” (recognize Jerusalem as the Capital) – he gave away one of our best bargaining chips for nothing while inciting new violence and hurting chances of US participation in future negotiations. “Confronting Internet Tyranny” - except if it’s our “friends” the Russians “Defending International Religious Freedom” - as long as you're Christian “Renewing the European Alliance” (plus support NATA, support UK) – If by "renew" you mean severely damage “US Leadership in the Asian Pacific” (Irreversible dismantlement of North Korea's nuclear program) – Botched this big time so far, but I wish them luck. “Family of the Americas” (aka support for Canada and Mexico relations) - oops “The Fifth Amendment: Intellectual Property Rights (from China) – so far a big failure Some Special Quotes "We oppose tax policies that deliberately divide Americans or promote class warfare.” "We are the party of the declaration of independence and the constitution" "We denounce bigotry, racism, anti-Semitism, ethnic prejudice, and religious intolerance. Therefore, we oppose discrimination based on race, sex, religion, creed, disability, or national origin...” "We pledge to protect the voting rights of every citizen..." "Agricultural production and exports are central to the Republican agenda for jobs, growth, expanded trade, and prosperity." "Congress should approve an enabling act with terms for Puerto Rico's future admission as the 51st state of the Union" "We will not accept any territorial change in Eastern Europe imposed by force in Ukraine, Georgia, or elsewhere...” "We express our solidarity with all the peoples of the Western Hemisphere."
  6. He will blame the Democrats that are hoping the next recession starts before the 2020 election.
  7. He even sang along "roll me up and smoke me when I die."
  8. I hope you realize that recessions are inevitable. We are, based on normal trends, past due for one. Trump's trade policies will certainly make the next recession come quicker and make it worse. People will lose jobs in a recession whether it starts in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, or beyond. We can't prevent that from happening. You should also recognize that it is advantageous to Democrats if the next recession starts prior to the 2020 election. Hoping for that does not change the consequences of the recession, only the timing. If you were really worried about people losing jobs in the next recession you should oppose Trump's trade policies.
  9. I published a couple papers to an on-line journal that I am particularly happy with. The titles are "Physical Constants as Properties of the van der Waals Torque of the Quantum Field" and "Fine Structure Constant as the Polarization of the Quantum Field by a Unit Charge." The one on physical constants is a response to the claims that some people make that the physical constants were fine-tuned, which I address in my book God Hates Science. I wanted to show that the physical constants arise directly from properties of the quantum field of standard model quantum field theory. Space always contains a quantum field and the uniformity of the quantum field produces a unique set of physical constants. There is no magic to it. In the process I figured out a physical interpretation of the fine structure constant that is an important discovery in its own right. Physical Constants as Properties of the van der Waals Torque of the Quantum Field Fine Structure Constant as the Polarization of the Quantum Field by a Unit Charge
  10. He won his race in 2016 by over 30%, and is facing the same opponent in 2018. I think he would still win, unless forced to resign.
  11. You are imagining a connection that does not always exist.
  12. Pornography is not trafficking. Prostitution is not trafficking. Neither should be conflated with trafficking the way you are doing it. That is not to say that persons who are being trafficked won't be forced to engage in either. But trafficked persons may be forced to pick crops or work in construction. There is not a one to one correlation with pornography or prostitution. In the article you just posted there was no mention of trafficking. Some people are using trafficking in too broad a way, in part to attack legal attack legal pornography and legal aged prostitution that may be and should be legal.
  13. I could see Kennedy/O'Rourke or O'Rourke/Kennedy in 2028. I hope the youth movement we are seeing among Democrats means they will have a candidate under 60 in 2020
  14. Just wait until we get the full disclosure of Kennedy's golden parachute
  15. I disagree. The 10s of millions of lives that will be negatively impacted by a conservative justice vastly outweighs the life of one senator.
  16. Political assassination was brought up in another thread. It made me wonder that with McCain sidelined only one seat has to flip for the Democrats to block the nomination until the midterms. That could be accomplished by the forced "retirement" of a Republican senator in a state with a Democratic governor with the power to appoint his replacement. My question is if the supreme court seat is important enough that this is a viable option? Of course I realize that Republicans can do it too.
  17. This has nothing to do with human trafficking.
  18. Based on examples like Brazil and the Philippines I think access to abortions might be improved in states that have outright bans when compared to under current restrictive laws. States cannot stop pills being sent by mail from other states in unmarked packages. The absence of regulation will allow doctor's who perform abortions to have a lot more flexibility, while only slightly increasing the real risks to the woman.
  19. No, but I had a blow job with sone ball licking from a Thai girl right after she ate a spicy Thai salad made with a bunch of diced Thai chilis.
  20. So if the house asks Rosenstein to prosececute Rosenstein on contempt of congress charges does he decline to prosecute based on lack of evidence?
  21. A federal court order that children under 5 be reunited with parents within 14 days and within 30 days for the rest. https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/26/politics/federal-court-order-family-separations/index.html
  22. If I were pres I would offer to supply 100 nucs each to South Korea and Japan with delivery systems that could reach all of North Korea and for the hell of it Bejing, and put the ball in China's court. If China still didn't want to act I would make the same offer to Taiwan and start building our own island in the South China Sea.
