One thing lost in all the realignment talk here is that football is not the only sport that is being realigned. The baseball in the SEC is going to be absolutely sick.
The BIg 12 outside of Texas & OU in terms of CWS appearances (talking current Big 12) has Ok State with 20 and then 15 more spread across Baylor, ISU, TT, TCU & Kansas.
There is 1 CWS Championship for OSU. Looking at who Big 12 is adding you get 2 appearances for BYU, 2 for Houston and that is it.
Looking at SEC (including Texas & OU) you have 161 CWS appearances and 23 Championships. 10 different teams have won the CWS.
Even Taking Texas & OU out you have 112 appearances and 15 championships with 8 different schools winning one.
I know it is a football board but Al seems to be ignoring the fact that it is not just football standing to see a massive improvement in quality of play.
There really is only one truly shitty SEC baseball team historically and that is Kentucky (and funnily enough they are currently in Top 25).
I am as excited for the baseball schedule as I am for the football one.
