  1. i guess it's the next one to be refuelled for which actual prep hasn't started, so in that sense it makes sense.  but that ship is only 20 years old right now.  it's one of the newest in the fleet.  the nimitz is 45.

keep in mind we also have 9 LHA/LHD ships, which every other navy on earth would consider aircraft carriers.

is truman the most under appreciated president?

  2. if you've got a microcenter (houston and dallas surly), the first gen Ryzen R5 1600 is down to $80 and has the $30 off compatible boards (just added that promo back to this processor).  you're looking at the chip and a B450 board starting at $130 after taxes.  very hot.

The Democratic party is not anyone's home it's just a political tent made up of various coalitions with access to ballots in all 50 states plus the televised debates. The party itself isn't anything like it was 50 years ago back when all the Southern deplorables were Democrats before switching parties and chasing off the RINOs from the GOP. The party changes, considering how easy it is to switch political parties you would think party shifts would happen more often.

Anyways, considering we exist in a Two Party system, it's part of the natural political process for the displaced Republicans to switch parties and change it's direction if they have the numbers.

    It's not tho.

But what’s more unexpected is that voters stay with the party they identify with at age 18, developing an attachment that is likely to persist — and to shape how they see politics down the road.

I love the smell of a fresh OS install in the evening.

Fun fact: Windows, performance-wise, doesn't give a shit if you change the underlying hardware, and hasn't since Windows XP at the latest. I think last time I fresh installed Windows on my main computer was Windows 7 when I ran a C2Q. Pushing the power button on a brand new box just to have everything exactly where you left it smells way better.

Short of rewatching prior seasons, what's the best way for me to refresh my memory on what has transpired in the last couple of seasons?  A Cliff's notes. as it were.  It's been so long, I forget who's been kilt off and other details.

Digital download sales are definitely the way to go. Cheaper, less buggy, and often available with all DLC (i.e., "Gold" or "Game of the Year" editions) within a couple of years of release.

Even if it's a franchise or title I know will be good, I'll wait until the price dips below $20. Sometimes, that means waiting three years, but it's often less than 18 months. There are so many games, and with so little time to play them, the waiting turns out not to be difficult at all.

plus you don't need the latest titan to play them

biscuit was having trouble walking this morning.  fuck.

happened again later that night.  saw the vet on friday and, upon viewing the vids, he said biscuit is having seizures.  hasn't had another one (that i've been present for) since last wednesday night. also, somewhere along the way he blew out one of his tendons in his left knee.
