  1. Stayed at a VRBO so cooking implements were at a premium, but thankfully you can do a leg of lamb on just about anything…
  2. Thank the lord for CA grocery stores… Merry Christmas to all you degenerates!
  3. I don’t spend enough anymore/any particular place for that kind of system to make sense for me. You get a chance for this just by showing up and drinking free booze, so who am I to complain.
  4. You could only pull one bottle in the big drawing, so all other tickets were void. Lotta those folks had 16-20 tickets, so like I said odds still pretty good. They did a show of hands at the end and about 50% of those in attendance got an allocated bottle. I’m just saying that was the average as I spoke to several folks like myself who only had 2-3 tickets.
  5. SUPER fun one today… First, some background: we’re in the middle of multiple yard projects right now, so the entire backyard is a mess. All of our furniture is under tarps, which did OK against the rain but not against the yard crew this week. Everything looks like this: Despite insisting multiple times that it would not be prudent to clean up the back yard for the party we’re hosting tomorrow, the wife insisted that because it was a nice day, it was now a requirement. The yard is a straight up mud pit at the moment, and if anyone steps foot back there the house will be a disaster. After arguing all day and stalling on cleaning our patio furniture (which must not be touched with the power washer [emoji50]‍[emoji100]) I negotiated down to 2 pieces of furniture and cleaning off the deck. It took 2.5 hours and I’ll be shocked if anyone steps foot outside tomorrow.
  6. So, popped out to the Shaker raffle today for the first time. Don’t get nearly the tickets I anticipated going in as the last two weeks were crazy, but wanted to see what it was all about. 3800 or so tickets for ~300 folks in attendance, so decent odds given the average ticket/per was probably around 5. Never had my name called, but the dude next to me wasn’t interested by the time his was so I snagged this peat bomb: May never crack it, but at least I snagged this winner at the tastings: 80% of the folks who walked with unicorns had already won a bottle in the first round, so clearly the only way to play is to max tickets and bring friends who do the same.
  7. Jesus, man… what happened to Cole?! Guy looks terrible…
  8. So, I went to Little Deli for lunch yesterday and got the Italian, as so many here and on Reddit have sung its praises. TBH I just don’t get it… sure, it was good, but to me it doesn’t hold a candle to Home Slice. It all comes down to the bread, and if that isn’t fresh with a little crunch to it, you’re falling short.
  9. Looks mighty sharp! The bed in my K-20 also needs some love after 2 years in the rain, so I figure I’ll sand it down and do something similar.
  10. That glencairn is [emoji91]
  11. This is actually a really good read on the Dowling upthread… fascinating story and some smart folks involved, even if the price point is a tough sell. I may snag one if I see it again just for funzies… https://whiskeyraiders.com/bourbon/mary-dowling-whiskey-co/
  12. Been hitting the Shaker tastings and it took everything I had not to laugh in the rep’s face as she lauded this lineup. “Rye of the year” kept being said over and over with the question of “yes, but which list” failing to be answered as she poured for others. Telling that the only point of interest for me among their 5 offerings was the coffee. If it’s NY, it’s still baby bourbon or bust for me… Also, anyone care to educate me on this Dowling? That’s a high price point for something I’ve never heard of…
  13. Round 2 of “Leftover BBQ Sandwich”, this time with a brisket/jap link/rib grind on toast. Continues to slam:
  14. Hello from LJ’s in Brenham, where I’m full af: Brisket: 8 - Little dry and tough in parts but well cooked… probably caught a bad cut Ribs: 10 - Fantastic flavor and fell right off the bone Sausage: 9 - went with the jap cheese and it was gooey goodness all the way Sides: 9 - Mac was a standout, but the street corn salad rocked. Coleslaw was mid. Worth a stop for sure!
  15. I am all over that Mailman like a desperate housewife… hot damn!
  16. Fuck you, Herbie - FSU doesn’t deserve the help.
  17. I would relish the opportunity
  18. Please - There will be nothing called that benefits gata the rest of the way, rules be damned.
  19. Gigantic holding… should be offsetting but won’t
  20. Ok D - Get a stop and avoid a flag!
  21. Bro these bailouts are egregious
  22. and then, miraculously, Florida strings together a good drive only to miss the FG as time expires…
  23. There’s still a chance to nut…
