  1. Very personal decision given that spread. I’m a big fan of OFSiB, but 129 is pretty damn hot. If you like finished whiskeys, I’d grab the Madeira and never look back.
  2. Was passing through Taylor and made the mistake of stopping at LM… Would be interested to hear other opinions, but it seems to me that the bbq scene has passed them by and they’re merely resting on their laurels. Sausage was chewy, rib was cooked well but light on flavor and the “moist” brisket was simply bad. Occasionally I might be interested in a 3/4 thick piece of brisket, but certainly not here. Atmosphere still slaps but everything else was decidedly meh.
  3. Head of PR is a friend from college… I haven’t reached out because I don’t even know what to say.
  4. Yes and they’re delicious… good reminder I may hit that next week
  5. Can’t stop fucking with turkey burgers…
  6. It’s damn solid - Absolutely love the fruit notes up front.
  7. Yes and no you’re not overreacting IMO https://www.morganstanley.com/ideas/2025-market-outlook-portfolio-diversification
  8. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills sometimes… After I’ve been busting my hump all weekend on shit around the house, wife asks me to clean the dishes. No problem i say, if you clean up the ones from dinner on Friday (our agreement every time I cook, which is 95% of the time). I’d say she actually does them 50% of the time, if I’m generous, and they generally sit for days causing other dishes that she makes to pile up. That turns into a giant dust up about things needing to be “equal” and me somehow discounting the things that she does. Such confrontations would be deftly avoided if there was pussy on the line, but since there’s not I just call a spade a spade these days. My own dumb fault for seeking to maintain established agreements, I suppose…
  9. Not sure who recommended SLAB on Brodie upthread, but that was a decidedly mid experience. 50% of their menu cut down including most of the sides, sausage was “fine” and the white sauce chicken sandwich was pretty good.
  10. Called into Rich Eisen Show this week to express same… it’s so fucked and I’m riding the emotional rollercoaster on the daily.
  11. What’s the general turnaround for them to smoke meat? Assume 48 hours isn’t the norm, correct?
  12. If the tariffs start rolling next week and then heat up in April for Europe, seems like the car market is about to heat back up… May try to pull the trigger in the next few weeks.
  13. Howard and Gabriel looked like hammered dogshit yesterday. They’re obviously better in game situations, but grading QE this low after yesterday is silly. He was arguably the best QB out there…
  14. Found some North Texas vintage greatness in an old scrapbook. Can’t recall if the BBQ was any good, but those onion rings were life changing.
  15. Got damn son, gotta clean that grill surface!
  16. The ziti Did the brussels in the fat from the sausage then coated in honey and Calabrian chili flakes. [emoji91]
  17. These 1924 posts don’t sit well with me… I’m gonna have to spur some folks.
  18. Trump made very clear recently that he’s gonna rig the midterms. Suspicions of fuckery will grow to certainty when his and Congress’ approval is sub-30 yet they sweep the midterms. /noCR Don’t think that’s a good bet for the Euros… they need to play a stronger hand than “hopes and prayers”.
  19. Interesting - Don’t think I’ve had a SiB pick but have enjoyed everything else.
  20. Double Oak still brings it IMO, and I’ve never had a distillery only bottle I didn’t like, but to each their own. What’s changed IYO?
  21. Had a great trip recently that went from solid to stratospheric after a friend hooked up a private tasting with Vida Valiente. They’re still building the winery/tasting room, so for now they’re only doing tastings at the CFO’s new house in Oakville. Needless to say, coming out of the rain and onto this property with Led Zeppelin playing on Vinyl in the temporary space was quite welcomed. The juice was obviously superlative, and you can sense the Memento Mori roots sprouting into something new and special here. Absolutely recommend for anyone looking for big Napa Cabernet.
  22. Great video! Have probably mentioned this before, but I got to spend an afternoon poolside with him and his family in LA many years ago. He’s so damn genuine… doesn’t surprise me that he can also dance his ass off.
  23. The original is on the wall in the distillery, but unsure on anything else they’ve produced. Usually the best you’ll get is “high rye mashbill”.
  24. Brought back a friend from Baltimore…
