  1. No, if it were up to me, I would not have hired RT away from UTEP. No one would have. Where we cease to share common ground is that I have not already come to the conclusion that what we saw from RT at UTEP is the best he will ever do. I mean, he showed last season that he is at least capable of competently leading a team with a lot of potential to the Elite Eight. He has also shown that he is capable of attracting talent to Texas, or at least not scaring it away if you think NIL is the primary factor that determines where players sign. It remains to be seen if he is capable of repeatedly turning a collection of talent into a cohesive team that makes deep postseason runs. No coach, even those with skins on the wall, accomplishes that every season, not even Saint Beard. You like to constantly remind everyone that you think hiring RT was a huge mistake. You do it when any little thing goes wrong. You do it when any little thing goes right. I suspect you even do it in your sleep. Trust me, WE KNOW. We ALL know. I would suggest that you do not need to keep reminding us, but something inside you says that if you keep repeating it, we will suddenly agree with you. I also know that telling you that we won't isn't going to change anything. My point has always been that RT is the Head Coach at Texas, even if he isn't who any of us would have hired when he was at UTEP. Most of us have come to terms with why he was hired. Can we at least see what he can accomplish in this role before we constantly shit on him? If he performs the way you expect, then sure, scream it from the top of The Tower what a horrible hire this was. You'll likely have a lot of company to that end. No one is going to forget that you told us all. I'm not predicting years of unparalleled success, and I have not seen anyone else do that. I'm simply suggesting we give RT the same opportunity to prove himself that we would anyone else that we could have hired. He's here. He deserves that much.
  2. You've convinced me. How could I be so wrong as to have a little optimism that Terry has learned some things in his 28 years and might actually improve? If only there were a good example of a coach who has been able to exceed all expectations by accomplishing things at Texas that he was unable to achieve in his previous head coaching gigs. I mean that shit never ever happens. It's also my understanding that QBs never get better with experience. I admit it. We are doomed. Don't let that piece of sky hit you.
  3. Perhaps not, but premature lack of sunshine makes me extra surly.
  4. I thought he was going to have to be rescued from the swim there for a minute. Have to hand it to him. He only lost his cool once...at least that they showed, and I think that was due to navigation crap if I remember correctly. They struggled with that the entire race.
  5. At least your 1 was the 1 to get. Who cares about the rest?
  6. On the flip side, Texas is eight games into a season with most of the main pieces being new and one of its best weapons yet to play due to injury. I'm shocked...SHOCKED I tell you... that the team isn't already playing in peak form. They've lost two games to top-10 teams away from home, one of which was to a coach who always overachieves this time of year and who was extremely motivated to prove something. Yes, there is quite a bit of room for improvement. There are also a lot of games left to be played. Go ahead and get Terry's dismissal papers ready to sign if you must, but I'm going to give him a little more time. Some other top-25 teams with two or more losses: Marquette Duke North Carolina Kentucky Tennessee Aggy Wisconsin
  7. Excellent point. I completely agree. She adapted really well from a rough start, but fell back into old habits at the end.
  8. Looking forward to a leg without "come on Dad!"
  9. I was pulling for Emily, so this one sucked. Fingers will be pointed at Austin, but Emily has Drew to thank for it. They didn't need Austin's vote. I'm really surprised that Drew was not more aware about how close Austin and Dee have become. You tell people that you trust the plan, but trusting them to not do the same is where shit happens. I'm even more surprised that they did not change the plan when it became obvious that Julie was aware. All they needed to do was split the vote. I can only assume that she was confident that Julie would vote Austin. It is consistent for Emily to stick with her Julie vote, ever focused on the long game instead of seeing the immediate risk. I think Drew currently has the best resume, but I can see a path for any of the final 6 to win. It should be interesting.
  10. Anyone know what time it is?
  11. WTF. What is this, 1984 NFL?
  12. It's not like he asked her what type of pie she had for Thanksgiving.
  13. Eat up you whiney bitches. You know who you are.
  14. How many more pages can we get of people saying the same stuff over the next 2 hours. I say at least 5 and I'm here for it.
  15. The counterpoint to your OOC games argument is FSU/LSU, which FSU won. The SEC shit the bed in meaningful OOC games this season. That should matter, but we'll have to wait and see if it does to the committee. To be clear, Texas is in, and the last spot will come down to FSU and Alabama.
  16. So a risk of Bama taking a spot versus Georgia guaranteed a spot? Brilliant! Your parents must be proud.
  17. I suspect Rick Bayless pretends Skip doesn't exist.
  18. This, only we actually deserve to be ahead of Bama, unlike Oregon being ahead of us.
  19. We are in. Bama may also be in but they are the ones who need a Michigan or FSU loss now.
  20. This is the answer. Nil-nil is always the desired result when two highly positioned clubs not named Arsenal play. Second best result is Spuds 1-nil over City, but that's like rooting for aggy to beat Bama.
  21. I'm a sunshine pumping snowflake, but damn, how miserable your fandom must be.
