  1. As long as no one calls me a moron, Dennis.
  2. I'd call it more of a weak reference to obscure '90s television than a joke, but whatever. It got no reaction when someone else made the same "joke" on page two, but Surly's a tough crowd.
  3. $15 a month is not going to get you much. You may want to browse the past few weeks of the cord cutters thread.
  4. They didn't for the photo shoot.
  5. I've played a lot of beach volleyball, but never while wearing boots. Does it help with jumping in the sand?
  6. I really want to believe that the Mudryk pursuit was deliberate misdirection to teach Chelsea some manners. I don't really believe that, but it would be funny as hell and well deserved if it were true.
  7. I guess we get to find out whether we have added enough depth. Sucks we have to find out at the beginning of the season.
  8. So we can't have nice things but at least our not so nice things are contagious.
  9. Was really hoping we were going to have nice things. Which one of you was supposed to sacrifice a chicken?
  10. I watched it the other night and it took me about half the movie to figure out who he was. I initially thought it was Jackie Chan, but was confused that he looked younger than he is, and his voice sounded so different.
  11. More of a "wow, he turned into a good actor" than a "no way is that the same person"
  12. It's so refreshing having a management team that is capable of acquiring talent that compliments the team vision. We aren't just buying talent. We are buying talent that is capable of excelling in our system while making the players we already have even better. I do not miss the days of stockpiling players who never came close to reaching their potential.
  13. Who knows how much he has truly contributed? My favorite reason to have Patterson on staff is that it means he isn't helping some other team scheme against us...presumably.
  14. I assume you meant "gay" in a happy/jovial context? Otherwise, why include it? You completely undermine the point of this thread.
  15. This is NOT how you humble brag.
  16. I have a motor, Greg. Can you race me?
  17. I think you should keep opening threads about it until you figure out what it is.
  18. Sure, but I would expect top teams with the best riders to be on an equal playing field in that regard.
  19. I don't know the reasons why they decided to stick with the _ets naming convention for all of the second tier NY franchises, but knowing you have to conform with that limits the alternatives. Bets - Atlantic City tie in Fets - maybe if George Lucas bought them Pets - Dear Penthouse... Vets - vets who flew jets
  20. Pogačar is 24, and is still competing for the White Jersey. Barring a career ending event or mental burn out, his best years are ahead of him. Vingegaard is 26, and is also on the young side of professional cyclists. Over the past several years, the average age of riders in Le Tour is 28.5. Average winner age is 27-29, depending on how far back you go. As for doping, all teams are better than ever at managing nutrition, especially when it comes to recovery. They also constantly push the envelope regarding technology and what the human body can accomplish. Are rules being broken? It would not surprise me. What would surprise me would be if there is a single team or rider that is doing things to gain a competitive advantage that other riders and teams aren't. I'm firmly in the "if one rider is cheating, then they all are" camp. If your rider isn't winning, it's because he isn't as good or is dealing with an issue that is impacting his condition. It's not because only one guy/team is cheating.
  21. I don't watch much live football these days, and no longer living in Texas makes it a challenge to watch the Horns anyway, even with YTTV. I make do with live updates from the internet, Surly game threads, and highlights are always available after the fact. It's not ideal, and for those who have to see all the action as it unfolds, it's a non-starter. If I'm in the mood to watch some football, there will be games through other streaming options, often ones I would not have been able to watch before making the change. For me, it works fine. Of course, it's the middle of summer. Get back to me in the fall.
  22. I recently came to the conclusion that I'm not a "live tv" person, and that includes most sports. Commercials annoy the ever living fuck out of me to the point that I would rather pay to avoid them. As a result, I made the decision to dump YTTV. Everything I was recording to be able to fast forward through the ads I can stream via other services. I'm currently doing month-to-month with different streaming services, using a rotating and binging approach. I can only watch so much TV, so annual subscriptions are a money loser for my method, with the exception of Amazon Prime. I can pretty much watch everything I was watching on YTTV that I cared about plus a lot of other stuff I didn't previously have, and saving $ on top of it. It takes a little while to adapt from "let's see what is on" to "what do I want to watch," but I'm getting the hang of it.
  23. Don't be silly. The roster limit is 15. Even if you assume multiple benchings of each player per game, he would have to make over 4 substitutions every minute. Can't be done.
