  1. I'm going to need you to show your work. Edit: Never mind. I just realized that "he" refers to KP not Luka.
  2. We'll have to at least give him an asterisk.
  3. Yep. Dude has more lives than a cat. I don't know who taught him to make pasta, but they are likely in the witness protection program now. It wasn't really clear to me how the recipes were being judged. Tom even said that the person going home was leaving for making a bad dish, not the recipe. Obviously pasta boy's recipe was one of the worst, so I assume it factored in to some extent. I will probably give the Amateurs things a chance, but shows of this nature tend to be too much personal story for me. Just cook, dammit. The inclusions of Top Chef alums may help me power through the fluff.
  4. So the manager we sacked last year because he had us underachieving not only knocks us out of Europa league but wins the whole damn thing and now gets to go to Champions League next season. Why can't we have nice things?
  5. You assholes are going to make me have to reconsider my opinion of him. His schtick is like nails on a chalkboard for me. I have always found him to be unwatchable. Obviously I'm in the minority on this, but that is true regarding many popular opinions.
  6. That is a good point. It could be that the season change hit hard after a night or two, but they do seem to have all magically solved the bug problem. The cold weather appears to be the only factor for tapping so far. I wonder if different team assignments would have made any difference? Probably not. What I find curious is why there is zero sharing of body heat. Is it an (un)written rule? Did all of them make agreements with their spouses that they would tap before resorting to that? And why did Amber never wear her deer pelt (or is my memory failing me)? I don't think I have seen Max or Gary wear one either. Why not give them all to Amber for the sake of the team? All of the men clearly put on weight for the challenge, but I don't think any of the women did...at least not enough for it to be noticeable. Why?
  7. Well maybe it should be.
  8. I'd rather be Texas, and get to the point where we don't have to envy anyone's athletic department.
  9. This. Thankfully we don't have to trade anything, and are allowed to enjoy success in all sports.
  10. TCU: No, I insist. Texas: Okay.
  11. You are all wrong. OP asked for area, not approximate area. There are zero rectangles, trapezoids, right angles, or even straight lines in that drawing.
  12. I completely agree. I knew which team was going to win as soon as they were determined. David always beats Goliath in these things. As much as I like Gabe, Sara, and Dawn, that was really fun to watch a true team effort take out a bunch of strong individuals with no game plan. I was a bit surprised that Gabe did not take charge. Based on editing before the dishes were served, I thought it was going to be Dawn going home, but once they tasted, she was obviously safe. An argument could have been made for any of the other three, so I was hopeful that it would come down to body of work and that Chris would finally be shown the door. Booooo. Ultimately, Sara's "strong dish" was probably the weakest, and her "weak dish" likely was as well. I haven't watched LCK yet, but I'll be pulling for her. It was nice to see Good Shota this week, and I was happy Maria brought it. We'll see if she has truly turned a corner. I prefer to see everyone do well, and have people go home for cooking really good food that was beaten by even better food. That becomes more likely as the number of chefs dwindle.
  13. You are missing out on the "match milk line to cracker seam" experience. Why not just go this route?
  14. I think many people do graham crackers in milk. Nailing the dunking time is crucial. Pull out too early, and it won't have that pleasing moistness. Leave it in too long, and you are going to have to go fishing or wait until the end and spoon out the dregs. A nice variation is to make peanut butter sandwiches with the graham crackers, and then dunk those. I also like peanut butter on apple slices.
  15. While I appreciate the distraction from the misery that is being a Rangers fan, get a room, you two.
  16. Cools? Only a jive turkey would smoke those instead of Kools, and they would probably put them out on my floor.
  17. Great actor. RIP
  18. I wonder when they will start migrating? I suspect that Matt and Ryan's Nutria parasite issue is localized to their area, since none of the other camps have experienced it so far. I would imagine EJ will want to find some teammates at some point. I suspect they are required to stay put for a given length of time, though I have never heard it mentioned.
  19. They aren't pets. There is a sanctuary near Dilley, Texas. Sometimes they escape. https://www.bornfreeusa.org/primate-sanctuary/
  20. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try to limit how often it is transmitted.
  21. The West is stacked. We have as much chance as any team, but I'm not going to be upset if we again fail to get out of the first round. We just don't have the quality depth yet to raise my expectations.
  22. I do love the shit out of curbside, but I'm picky as hell about my food. I often meal plan on the fly, depending on the quality of the available ingredients. Selecting my own produce and meat, and not having to explain my complicated acceptable substitution rules is more important to me. That said, I have nothing but good things to say about the hired shoppers at the Westgate Central Market, and will likely use them again on occasion. I was generally very pleased with the substitutions they made when necessary.
  23. You're going to start installing drywall at the Las Colinas MacDonald's?
  24. That's a fine attitude for the status quo, but think of it this way. The longer this virus stays active, the more mutations there will be. The more mutations that there are, the greater the chances that there will be one that spreads even more easily than all known variants, is more deadly, and isn't at all inhibited but current vaccines. I, for one, would very much like to avoid that scenario. As for what I have started doing again: my own grocery shopping, scheduling routine doctor/dentist visits, and I will likely let a professional cut my hair the next time it needs it.
