  1. I have no connection to CDC or anyone else associated with UT athletics. I just happen to appreciate the scope of the job that we entrusted to him, and believe that he is far better equipped to do it well than the pretenders, interims, and burnouts that got us here. When things aren't going well, it's a thankless job. I'm a firm believer in stability and patience, but I can appreciate that the latter is in very short supply around here. I want what everyone else wants, but I appear to be in the minority regarding the best way to get there.
  2. Is it not within the realm of possibility that CDC was hopeful that he wouldn't need to endorse Herman at all? Sometimes Plan A doesn't work out, and money can't buy what you want. Herman being on the sidelines on 9/21 is only a fuck up if CDC did or didn't do something that prevented the best long term coaching option from taking the job. Firing Herman without that option locked up would be asinine, as we would then be in a position where we might be forced to settle for someone considerably worse. And that assumes that the money needed to get rid of Herman is unconditionally available regardless of whether a replacement has been secured. Look on the bright side. A tepid endorsement gives us all hope that it was merely lip service, and not an indication that CDC actually believes that Herman is the answer.
  3. There is a whole lot of dumb in this thread, or at least some extreme gullibility. CDC is doing exactly what he needs to do to limit damage caused by uncertainty while continuing to work toward ensuring that the future of the program ends up in the best possible hands. Stop hanging on every fucking word he releases for public consumption, and act like this isn't the first time that you have heard AD-speak. CDC is not stupid. He knows what is at stake. He is as unhappy with the level of performance as any of us. If the best possible coaching change could have happened by now, it would have. Shove your unrealistic expectations up your ass and trust the man to do his job.
  4. My personal favorite Longhorn logo.
  5. My preferences for who wins, listed in order: Urban Meyer The ghost of Alex Trebek Blonds due to some obscure technicality Hung and Chee Beards Charla and Mirna Natural disaster that cancels the race with no winner . . . . . . . . . . Boyfriends
  6. While I don't like the alliance crap as a whole, I was actually okay with it in this instance. It was nice to see one of the teams who benefitted from it on numerous occasions experience it from the other side. Those were some very sour grapes that DeAngelo was eating. That makes me even more okay with the outcome. They should have gone home on the sauerkraut leg anyway. As long as the boyfriends don't win, I'll be happy with the outcome.
  7. It puts him on the clock...according to this and other threads, he is already on 114 of them, so what is one more?
  8. You don't need tapa to upload photos any longer. You don't even have to save them to file. Just do a screen grab, draw a dick, and paste.
  9. Is it? Then get on the phone to CDC and offer to pay it.
  10. Twice types at least twice as fast as I do. I'll also add that getting rid of Herman with such a large buyout makes no sense unless you can replace him with someone considerably better. If Urban does not want the job, then CDC may have to wait for the conclusion of current NCAA and/or NFL seasons to make serious inquiries, and that is assuming that the money to buyout Herman wasn't tied to only Urban taking the job.
  11. Had to be done, or I couldn't use "dumber."
  12. Timing is everything, you fucking dimwitted asshats, and more goes into determining that than your impatience and the recruiting cycle. If you don't think CDC is aware of the importance of making a transition in a timely manner than you are dumber than you already appear to be. When it is possible to make a change that has a high probability of producing long term success, then he will make it. Let the man do his fucking job.
  13. I think that whatever is going to happen will happen when it happens, regardless of how many inane threads get created to continue beating that poor poor horse. This poll is not fresh, informative, or amusing in any way whatsoever, but it is very 2020, so congrats?
  14. All I can say is, there are going to be three teams who are going to end up regretting the alliance. Last night would have been a perfect time to try to eliminate an actual contender. I'm usually an "earn it by beating the best" person, but it doesn't really fit my narrative this season because the alliance crap makes for a boringly predictable race. I also really dislike two of the final four teams, and the fact that they both would likely be gone without the alliance makes it all the more annoying.
  15. The proof is in the baked pudding cake...or something. What usually happens is that a team will find and exploit one or more of our glaring weakness, and all other opponents pick up on it. Shaka not being able to adjust to our opponents adjustments has been perhaps his most glaring weakness. Talent and insane athleticism can make of for a lot of deficiencies. Whether or not we have enough for season-long success remains to be proven. It is also possible that Shaka has learned some things or has better help around him than in years past, but that too remains to be proven.
  16. Nothing wrong with what 52-80 posted, but if you want something that is actually close to your specified price range, I'm a big fan of KÜHL. I own several of both the Kommado and Bravado. Both are more t-shirt than sweatshirt, but the Kommado is heavier and more durable, and would make a suitable sweatshirt substitute. Both are comfortable as hell. Sizing is accurate. https://www.kuhl.com/kuhl/mens/long-sleeve/kommando-crew/ https://www.kuhl.com/kuhl/mens/long-sleeve/ls-bravado/
  17. Have you let him know? I would hate to see CDC gone because he missed your deadline.
  18. I'm not willing to wager on my house nor any acts featuring props from Top Secret, but I also believe in CDC. He is very well aware of the expectations, and when he is able to replace Herman with someone who is capable of meeting them, I am confident that he will do so. Whether it turns out to be Urban, someone on the OP list, or another capable coach remains to be seen, but it will be someone he has fully vetted, which is good enough for me. Like most of you, I'm hopeful that this will happen sooner rather than later, but if it doesn't, it is because CDC isn't going to do a panic replacement to prioritize a single recruiting class over long term success. This is exactly as it should be.
  19. Why? I would want to the team that keeps finishing last in the race as long as possible. It was nice to see NFL help someone else for a change, but unless they keep doing it, it's a bit too little too late for me. What was odd about Hung and Chee not being able to do the binary challenge was that neither of them could do it. I was a little surprised that the beards didn't give them some pointers, but they did play the yield to help them.
