  1. Revival is great, but they aren't open for lunch. Just had dinner at the Butcher's Tale last week, and it was fantastic.
  2. The entire right wing smear-o-sphere exists solely to feed an alternative reality to those hooked on it. Recall the Watergate hearings were in the 3-channel era in which all three channels showed nothing but hearings live all day, and then an unedited replay in prime time. No ducking it then.
  3. There was an unrepentant Trumper on Paul Manafort's jury, but that didn't prevent the jury from convicting him. Said Trumper was interviewed afterwards, and she said something to the effect of "There was so much evidence of his guilt I had to find him guilty."
  4. The harder you make the target, the weaker you make the weakness.
  5. All of this being revealed on the second anniversary of Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin killing George Floyd in cold blood.
  6. They didn't just draw a nap to overturn those three. They drew a map to overturn every right that relies on a 14th Amendment Supreme Court case. These include, but are not limited to, privacy, interstate travel, interracial marriage, birthright citizenship, legal counsel even if one can't afford it, and the right to not have illegally seized evidence used against you. With this Court, always assume the worst case scenario.
  7. Aeroporti di Roma staff was checking at the terminal doors and skyway entrance for proof of vaccination and negative COVID test within 2 calendar days. They were doing this before allowing anyone to even get near check in, bag drop, or security. That said, they were the only ones checking. Airline staff, security checkpoint, and neither Italian or US customs asked. This was in January, so YMMV.
  8. When we went in December, no one checked out vaccination cards at any of the airports we went through. Granted, that was only Amsterdam and Rome, but I was expecting a full check prior to leaving the airport. Getting back into Rome airport to leave was a different story.
  9. Obligatory
  10. The only way he doesn't run in 24 is if he's dead.
  11. Another winning superfecta was sold down at Canterbury Park...
  12. Someone up at Running Aces, the harness track and card room up in Forest Lake, has a winning ticket for this superfecta, they put it on their FB page. Trying to share the link...
  13. Favorites went 3/4 in 1.10 2/5 and fried him. Just like Monarchos.
  14. What do you call a cow sitting on the floor? Ground beef.
  15. The neighborhood around Fulton doesn't feel lived in, mostly because it barely has been. That area didn't get built up until 3 or 4 years after the ballpark opened. Good choices with Matt's and Bar La Grassa. I really like the BlackStack space. Agree with your opinions of Betty Dangers and Psycho Suzi's. I live here in MSP and don't go to either place with any regularity.
  16. When I went through Kennedy in January on Delta, TSA PreCheck got you nowhere in the T4 security line. Everyone went through the long queue maze. We had a 2 1/2 hour transfer off an international flight. Customs was a breeze, but TSA was the longest part of the transfer. Caveat: This was around 6 PM, so all of Delta's redeyes to Europe were going out in the following two hours, plus a bunch of other Europe-bound overnight flights. YMMV.
  17. This Court seems to think that Lochner v. New York was never overturned.
  18. You're also forgetting to add the right to legal counsel if you cannot afford an attorney. Gideon v. Wainwright was all 14th Amendment.
  19. All you need to do is follow the worms!
  20. The saddest part is that the voters of Minneapolis decided to keep MPD in place, and not only elect Mayor Jacob Frey to another term, but convert city government to a strong-mayor from a weak-mayor system. I guess the Minneapolis taxpayer is okay with 8-figure excessive force settlements.
  21. Isn't attempting to bring a firearm through security an automatic arrest and federal felony?
  22. Isn't this the point where hizzonor signs a bench warrant?
  23. That reminds me of this
  24. I don't see how to get that coordinated. For comparison's sake, more people ride the New York subway on a COVID weekday than the highest daily throughput through every TSA checkpoint in the USA since 1/1/2019 (2.8 million and change). And we all know how much of a goat rodeo TSA is under the best of conditions. Also, the Mrs. and I will be in NYC in mid-June. We've got tickets for the Yankees and a couple of shows. Still deciding where to stay, either Midtown or over by Madison Square Garden.
