  1. To be fair, Bill Clinton delivered a fantastic speech at the 2016 DNC.
  2. Unless something in my math is wrong, the breakeven point is 94 cents on a contract. I'm basing my calculations off an initial input of $100 instead of 1000 shares, but you'll have to buy at or below 81 cents and win to get enough profit to cover the vig.
  3. I have no idea how good or bad this poll or pollster is, but if it's anywhere accurate Collin Peterson has a really bad starting position. FYI MN-7 is largely farm country along the border with the Dakotas. Has gotten really Trumpy over the last few years.
  4. More badgecam footage released yesterday. https://www.startribune.com/third-body-camera-video-in-george-floyd-killing-shows-officer-pushing-bystanders/572104552/
  5. Ilhan Omar is feeling some heat from her left flank going into tomorrow's primary. https://www.fox9.com/news/rep-ilhan-omar-antone-melton-meaux-hit-home-stretch-of-5th-district-primary-race The other hot race in Minnesota is the challenger to Collin Peterson up in MN-7. This district has gotten really Trumpy, but so long as Collin stays there, he's delivered too much sugar to the district for him to be sent off on someone else's terms.
  6. And some wonder why people of color are mad at MPD.
  7. "But the one on the far left. He had crazy eyes." Josey Wales
  8. Bill Clinton was going to take your guns, too.
  9. You would think that Minnesota Republicans would have learned from their comrades in Wabasha County. You thought wrong. http://citypages.com/news/iron-range-republican-not-sorry-for-coronavirus-holocaust-meme/572019971
  10. Minnesota and Colorado both move HS football to the spring.
  11. You would think that a rodeo promoter would know what happens when you mess with a bull.
  12. After watching Adam Schiff run the Intelligence Committee during the impeachment inquiry, Nadler was awful at the helm of Judiciary. Calling it a goat rodeo was an insult to the goat rodeo.
  13. Anyone else seeing this "America's Frontline Doctors" shit? The fact that it was Breitbart that organized it immediately disqualifies it.
  14. Ladies and gentlemen, the Wabasha County Republican Party! https://www.kare11.com/article/news/local/mngop-says-concentration-camp-image-from-wabasha-co-republicans-facebook-page-was-a-hack/89-edcf41eb-ae5a-4a04-8d33-c1422a1d8e60
  15. Derek Chauvin and his soon-to-be ex charged with 9 state counts of tax fraud. https://www.startribune.com/fired-minneapolis-officer-derek-chauvin-wife-charged-with-tax-crimes/571864051/
  16. She's already one of the better questioners in the House. See her questioning of Michael Flynn.
  17. Busy day in the reckoning front here. First, the badgecams are starting to be shown to local reporters in 1-hour blocks. Thread below. Second, the families have filed an inevitable wrongful-death suit against the cops and MPD. https://kare11.com/embeds/video/89-1587028/iframe?jwsource=cl https://www.kare11.com/article/news/local/george-floyd/attorney-of-floyd-family-to-announce-civil-lawsuit-against-city-of-minneapolis/89-83504464-061a-4b64-b8a4-cd7c02aa527e For comparison, the family of Justine Damond settled for $20 million, and the family of Philando Castille was ~$3.5 million. This one is going to be a lot more than that. Add this to the estimated $10M to rebuild the 3rd Precinct house, and it's clear that Derek Chauvin is going to cost the Minneapolis taxpayer a pile of money.
  18. That footage was likely taken on the weekend of May 30-31. The fires have been put out, and many of the rubble piles have been hauled off. But yes, things were in really bad shape during and after the rioting.
  19. Not sure where he's getting those pictures and video, but that video is old enough to draw Social Security. On an aside, has it already been seven weeks since George Floyd was killed? JFC, this feels like a year.
  20. Meanwhile, back on topic, you shouldn't be hearing much from either camp about the case itself anytime soon. Gag order put on by the judge.
  21. Those pimping Minnesota as competitive are the same people that don't realize that the tax money goes out of the Twin Cities, not into it. They've controlled chambers of the Legislature on and off since then, but the last statewide Republican win in Minnesota was 2006. Tim Pawlenty needed A) a liberal third-party candidate on the ballot drawing off 10-12% of the DFL vote, and B) a colossal brain fart by the DFL lieutenant governor candidate 2 days before the election to win. The last statewide Republican win with more than 50% of the vote was in 1994.
  22. 9-0 against faithless electors. Just came over the wire.
