  1. ? Republicans in Iowa won every statewide race for which they put up a candidate, and kept control of both chambers of their Legislature. I wouldn't call that flipping.
  2. I thought about putting Iowa on the top tier. I held off for a couple of reasons: - Even after getting beat up for two harvests by the trade war, most farmers I know are still firmly dug into MAGA. - Inevitably, the whispers will go around the small-town social circles that (insert Democrat candidate here) is a baby killer. Or will take your guns away. And you better not vote for a dirty Dem. Yes it sounds ludicrous, but this is a thing. Basically, I'll believe Iowa flipping when I see it, but I'd love to be wong.
  3. Schiff dunked on Jordan again at the end.
  4. Good questioning by Maloney. If the starting lineup is correct, GOP questioning is done and we've got 3 Dems left. This explains why they keep wanting to add stuff to the record.
  5. Yeesh. That was as brutal of a counterpunch as I've ever seen in the House.
  6. CBS just put up a graphic of Chris Stewart saying that he wasn't in any of the closed-door hearings...
  7. So a year out from the 2020, I think the hierarchy of Senate races look something like this: Must gets: AZ, CO, NC, ME Live underdogs: IA, GA x2, Bama Lottery tickets: Texas, Kentucky, South Carolina, Kansas (this could go up a tier if Kris Kobach wins the Republican primary). If any of the lottery tickets are sweating out photo finishes, the GOP has already lost the chamber and are in damage control mode. Also, any suggestions of tier placement are welcome.
  8. Do we need a daily game day thread, or are we lumping it all here?
  9. That was my thought. I know UMass is terribad, but is NU capable of scoring 42?
  10. Also, if the Gophers hold on, I'm going onto the field...
  11. Sorry, no sightings of pedo bear here today. That penalty on the last 3rd down was huge. PSU has to go the length of the field twice with 2 TOs
  12. 24-13 at the break with the Gophers getting the kickoff to start 3Q? I'll take that
  13. Second the motion This crowd is juiced out of their mind.

  15. The crowd here at the New Brickhouse is juiced. Biggest game ever played here. I may or may not be under the influence...
  16. Illinois +14.5 at Michigan State. This is the only respite from Sparty's brutal schedule (they've gotten beat by Ohio State, Wisconsin, and PSU by a combined 100-17 with a trip to Ann Arbor next week), the question is do they have anything left? Illinois has been coming on lately. PSU at Minnesota OVER 47.5. Weather won't go sour until after the game is over, and I think that's why this total is a touchdown too low. Ohio State -28 at Maryland 1st half. No Chase Young? No problem.
  17. Based on the mood of the electorate (as well as school bond issues passing in places I didn't expect), Minnesota is not moving in the direction of Missouri and Ohio as Republican strongholds. As noted earlier, a Republican hasn't won a statewide election since 2006 despite holding the RNC here and dumping gobs of cash into races here. Also, a GOP candidate hasn't won a majority in a statewide election since 1994.
  18. If he's not, he better be. This result moves Moscow Mitch's Senate race up to a tier where he has to burn scarce cash to actively defend it, along with Texas and both Georgia seats.
