  1. Teams have combined for 18 penalties for 234 yards with 3 ejections.
  2. How many ejections tonight?
  3. Yup, he gone. And one of his teammates called for holding on the next play for good measure.
  4. Not surprising that Collin Peterson voted no. MN-7 is very reliant on Big Ag and is really Trumpy, although there are pockets of Dem support down the ticket.
  5. Canterbury uses them on some of their PLO tables.
  6. In addition to bringing the Axe back, he also brought a fine herd of cattle. He's got the goods to back up the talk. I initially had the same feelings towards it that you do. Frankly, I'm surprised that the U agreed to buy the Row the Boat IP from Western. But it's clear that the players are buying it, and they're gering the job done.
  7. This will be the most important matchup of the game. Our OL has looked good as of late, but Penn State's front 7 is a big step up in class. They've done their best on plays where they get the whole front moving one way or the other. Then our RB makes a hard cut back against the flow of the play, into a seam that springs him loose. They've been good in pass protection, although Tanner has a penchant for throwing at least two mind-boggling bad throws a game. One of these throws was the only reason Illinois got to 10.
  8. Think all hat and no cattle. Loud talker that can't deliver. The local media in this town shamelessly went after PJ when he didn't win 10 games right out of the gate, thinking that Row the Boat was nothing more than a marketing slogan that he parlayed into a big payday. The difference I'd that he actually believes it, and does his best to live it out. See Casey O'Brien. Also, he's shown that he can admit a mistake and not let it fester. See him cashiering Robb Smith after the Nebraska game last year, and how fast the defense turned around after he got the sack. In hindsight, Smith was three main reason Fat Bret got fired at Arkansas. Everyone here expects Jerry Burns 2.0
  9. He's still salty over not winning a 3rd term...
  10. Everyone here in the Cities agrees that Fleck is a loudmouthed used car salesman. This fact drives several columnists for the local fish wrap up the wall. They fell in love with Jerry Kills "Country Jer" schtick, which IMHO was even more of an act than PJ's behavior. By all accounts, Fleck actually practices what he preaches. The players have bought in, and you can't argue with the results. Unlike before last November 24, he actually has something to sell. Those outside the Gopher fan base have no idea how much bad juju that win in Madison got rid of. And that Axe is as big and heavy as the photos show it to be. You'll get no argument from me about the quality (or lack thereof) of schedule. Yes they were rough in the first few games, but beating the piss out of teams sure beats getting caught looking ahead. As noted, the last time a Gopher football team was 8-0, the USS Arizona was still afloat and Bruce Smith was on the way to winning his Heisman. In my Gopher fandom, there have only been 2 home games that have approached the amount of hype this game is going to get. One was the 2003 Friday fiasco vs. Michigan. The other was the very first game at the New Brickhouse in 2009. I know that Texas is no stranger to this kind of hype, but this is rare for us. We're going to revel in it a little bit.
  11. 8-0 with the pedophiles coming to town in two weeks. As noted, gonna be a hell of a stretch drive. Who knows what kind of shape Wisconsin will be in when they come up here. PJ called out ESPN in the postgame interview. Something to the effect of you can go to Bama-LSU any year, but you can come to Minnesota for the first time.
  12. Venice question: how important is it to be out on the island? Is it a big deal to be by the Mestre train station and take the train in?
  13. Jimmy G at Washington Jared at Atlanta I picked Goff over Jimmy last week, and we all know how that worked out.
  14. Standard league. Jimmy G or Jared Goff?
  15. That's not even the most accurate description of a Trump rally on that album.
  16. Why are the Packers wearing white at home? Do they think they're the Cowboys?
  17. Penn State -7.5. Michigan stinks against living, breathing football teams, and now they go to be the pig roast in the White Out game. Wisconsin -29 at Illinois. I'd be careful of a look ahead here to next week's trip to Columbus, but Illinois is soooooo bad.
  18. After the slow start, it was fun to finally see this ball club put it all together and beat the tar out of someone. Gophers have a tough stretch drive: Penn State, at Iowa (last win in Mordor was during the Clinton administration), at Northwestern, and Wisconsin.
  19. Play the Nebraska @ Minnesota under. Weather is going to be trash (low 30s, snow showers, and a 15+MPH wind coming in the open end of the stadium.
  20. The road to Senate control may not go through Kentucky, but the point of this is similar to the role of Beto's Senate campaign last year: a dollar spent in Kentucky is a dollar not spent in actual battlegrounds. Make Moscow Mitch burn money playing defense on what he thought was friendly turf when that cash is needed elsewhere. If Andy Beshear beats Matt Bevin in 3 weeks, then this race moves from total long shot to the lottery ticket tier.
  21. Someone explain to me why Dave Roberts thought bringing in Kershaw was a good idea...
  22. Target Center staff and the City of Minneapolis is showing the kind of fiscal responsibility that the modern Republican Party could only dream of. From MPR: https://www.mprnews.org/story/2019/10/07/trump-campaign-threatens-to-sue-target-center-if-rally-is-blocked
  23. I saw it in St. Paul, MN earlier this summer. It was very cool.
