  1. My sarcasm meter must be broken here
  2. Not street legal - likely because the chassis is technically a 2018 since there was no VIN and it would have to comply with 2018 emissions and safety standards but still. HNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG https://www.topgear.com/car-news/pebble-beach-2018/porsche-has-built-brand-new-20-year-old-911-turbo
  3. Maybe I am just jaded after the last 8 or 9 years but I say 7-5. I hope I'm wrong.
  4. [surly watch fan thread frequent poster] wow 7 watches and only worth 28k? pfffffffffffffft needs more pepsi rollies bruh [/surly watch fan thread frequent poster]
  5. Look, the trade war is fucking dumb. The Space Force is also fucking dumb. Both of those, (as well as the $2T tax cuts) are drops in the bucket compared to what just 1 year of M4A would cost this country not to mention whatever the fuck a pie in the sky "tuition-free college" scheme would fucking cost us. What a dumb fucking tweet.
  6. Jesus Christ dude. On topic, is anyone really surprised? This is where it was headed from day one.

    Maui

Glad you enjoyed it. Maui remains one of my favorite places on earth.
  8. I bought them at my eye doc actually. When traveling I usually wear one pair for 2 or 3 days instead of just one day. They still feel pretty "fresh" to me after 2 or 3 days but it is obnoxious taking a bunch of them if I go somewhere for more than a weekend.
  9. I switched a few years back from bi-monthly to dailies. It is night and day better for me. I think I use the Acuvue Oasys, and recall it being more expensive than my bi-monthlies....don't recall it being $770 but definitely $500+
  10. I have nothing to add other than the last time I ever took a car to the dealership for service was back when I drove a BMW that was slowly leaking oil coolant. I knew I was getting rid of it not long after so I just wanted to get the coolant topped up and not actually fix the issue. I pull into BMW The Woodlands and some hot shot lookin dude walks up and says he can help. Tells me he can top her up right then and there if I wanted to just stand there with him. This mother fucker waltzes back over with a new bottle of coolant, proceeds to open the ENGINE OIL CAP and is about to pour it in when I stop him. Mother fucker almost dumped coolant directly into the engine oil. If I hadn't been standing there that dumb shit would have ruined my engine and no doubt I would have been on the hook for it. As others have said, only time any of our cars will go to the dealer would be warranty work. Even then, I don't trust those goobers any more than Billy Bob down at Jiffy Lube.
  11. Might've missed it but I'll offer up Gatti's pizza. How the fuck that place is still around is beyond me. I tried the one near the drag years ago one time and it was absolute trash. With so many good pizza spots within walking distance how do those places survive?
  12. I swear I've walked by a subway when someone opens the damn door and my clothes smell like that awful smell for the rest of the day. It's unbelievable.
  13. Reasonable question - I've worked a version of 9/80 (half day every Friday) for the past 8 or 9 years. I was discussing with a co-worker the other day what $ value I'd assign to it, and we both concluded somewhere upwards of 30k/yr to give it up. For 40 I would consider it depending on other PTO/comp factors. Also, obviously it depends on how much the 40k means to you. If you are only pulling down 80k now then it's a no-brainer. If you're pulling in average Surly money of 250k+ then it means less. Only you can decide that.
  14. Yes this too. I was trying to explain this to a buddy of mine (we are 30) and I think a light bulb went off for him. 401k, HSA, 529, do whatever I can every year to reduce what can go to Uncle Sam.
  15. I don't necessarily view it at trumpeting successes to make others feel bad, but rather providing some counter points to the endless stream of "lol milennials will never retire" articles (though yes a few probably are just trying to brag). Something I think most folks in a similar position can agree upon would be not having any school loans was life changing - even if you don't realize it at the time. Where I grew up I didn't know anyone took out loans for college. I still am not quite sure what it cost me to go to UT but I believe tuition was somewhere around 9k/semester. Looking back now, to Aqua Buddha's well articulated point, this was probably the single biggest thing in life that could set me ahead. At the time I had no idea how big of a deal this was. I thank my parents to this day for that gift, and I have already started saving for my 2 year old's college fund. I hope most people can recognize that a huge gift of no debt is like starting on the 40 yard line while anyone else with student loans got two yards out of the endzone on the kickoff (or got tackled for a safety)
  16. Pops and I are heading across the pond next summer for a golf trip. Length of stay TBD, but I would guess maybe 5 days? Certainly will do St Andrews, Royal Troon. I'm also thinking Muirfield as well, but outside of that I would love to hear from someone who has done a similar trip. I've been to Ireland (but not for golf) and know that N.I. especially has some great courses, but just don't know if it's worth the hassle hopping across the Irish Sea. Outside of StA, Troon, Muirfield, Carnoustie, what are some other courses I'm not thinking of?
  17. That was fucking wild, but after reading the article I can see why the cop with the body camera just unloaded on them at the end.
  18. For real, this.
  19. Wife must be smokin hot.
  20. Can you imagine ANY past President threatening to "tax [a company] like never before!" Fucking surreal
  21. Actually this chart stood out even more to me. >50% of news is "Misinformation"???? The fuck??
  22. You're not wrong.
  23. What % rate could you consider "punitive"? Obviously not 70. 80? 90? 99?
  24. This. There's also a really weird obsession with Johnny by some posters who think they know everything. The funniest part is that I am certain there are others on this very site who are much wealthier than Johnny, yet their ire is relentlessly directed at him.
