  1. Was out in Asheville a few years ago for a wedding. Took my bike with me and did a ride out there. Kicked my coastal flatland riding ass climbing up those mountains. Last few miles of the ride were nice though as I just coasted on down the mountain to the finish line.

  3. Someone made a country song out of George Strait song titles. I can't decide if I like it or think it is lazy.
  4. You would be incorrect about this. The original Buc-ee's is still going strong at the corner of Oyster Creek Drive and Old Angleton Road. You are correct in stating that one of the old-school small ones is now a car wash and detailing place, but that one was not the original Buc-ee's. https://buc-ees.com/locations/ As someone who grew up in Lake Jackson and remembers when Buc-ee's started and was just a local convenience store chain, it still amazes me to see what they have become. I caught a snippet of the Dave Ramsey show on a local station the other day and they were talking about Buc-ee's. I've heard the guys on SiriusXM on the college sports channel talking about it. I know plenty has been said about Buc-ee's on this site and on the old one, good and bad, but one cannot argue the business success the brand has become.

  6. I would not object to one focused on Halle Berry's character from John Wick 3. It would be one way to pay tribute to Lance Reddick.

  9. Wasn't Bob Stoops the DC at Florida before he got the OU head coaching job? Maybe that is the reasoning for any OU-UF rivalry. They can create the Bob Stoops Trophy for that game. I'm imagining a big gigantic dildo in a barrel of meth.

  12. That I did not know. Now I am going to go down a SIAA rabbit hole. Thanks.

  14. Well aware of that. I was curious about the LSU claim of being most played or second most played out of conference opponent.
  15. I haven't followed this thread closely, mostly because I don't care what the scheduling in the SEC ends up being, and also because I tend to ignore threads when I see they have devolved into a pissing contest between posters. Which means I end up ignoring most threads after the first couple of pages. However, the above statement caught my attention. I was curious if the assertion about LSU is correct, so I went to the Texas page on Winsipedia to see. Not counting the schools in black that Texas played back in the 19th century or during WWII...I guess LSU is the second most played team behind Tulane that has never been a conference game. Or 3rd most played if you count the majority of OU games that were OOC before the formation of the Big XII. I don't know about the 5 or 6 SEC teams claim on your part, though. That would take more research than I want to undertake right now. You maybe right. Or not. I am going to go out on a limb and say you are either right or wrong about that.
  16. Saw thread title and assumed it was about @Brisketexan's latest Steel Shank thread post.
  17. I'd say Duke in basketball is the type of comparison you are looking for. Five national championships, six runner-up finishes, and 17 total Final Fours. I offer Jack Nicklaus as an individual comparison. Everyone knows about the 18 majors but he also has 19 runner-up finishes at majors and 56 top-five finishes.
