Taco de Oro has room for trailers. There is a detail shop or something like that next door with plenty of room in front. I see guys with boat trailers there all the time.
Taqueria Mi Mexico is also a solid place. It is the old Aransas Pass Whataburger location. I think it is some sort of state law that all Whataburger buildings must be converted to taquerias when vacated by Whataburger.
Try Taco de Oro on Commercial Street the next time you are driving through Aransas Pass. Mostly a drive-through operation, though there is inside seating. In the morning on Friday through Sunday the line for the drive through backs out onto the street but it moves along sufficiently. Good breakfast tacos.
FIFY. (Kiewit employee here)
Yeah I like being employed.
Considering what an absolute clusterfuck the new harbor bridge has become I don't think anyone in this area would be thrilled about trying to build another one of those.
Thanks for the information. Really leaning towards doing it even though I am probably not in the best of shape for it. I am of the mindset that if I don't do it now then I may never do it.
Anyone ever do RAGBRAI? Considering registering for the ride this year before the deadline. Have a friend doing the ride who has a camper so the logistics would be taken care of but interested in how hilly the routes tend to be.
Was out in Asheville a few years ago for a wedding. Took my bike with me and did a ride out there. Kicked my coastal flatland riding ass climbing up those mountains. Last few miles of the ride were nice though as I just coasted on down the mountain to the finish line.
You would be incorrect about this. The original Buc-ee's is still going strong at the corner of Oyster Creek Drive and Old Angleton Road. You are correct in stating that one of the old-school small ones is now a car wash and detailing place, but that one was not the original Buc-ee's.

As someone who grew up in Lake Jackson and remembers when Buc-ee's started and was just a local convenience store chain, it still amazes me to see what they have become. I caught a snippet of the Dave Ramsey show on a local station the other day and they were talking about Buc-ee's. I've heard the guys on SiriusXM on the college sports channel talking about it. I know plenty has been said about Buc-ee's on this site and on the old one, good and bad, but one cannot argue the business success the brand has become.
Wasn't Bob Stoops the DC at Florida before he got the OU head coaching job? Maybe that is the reasoning for any OU-UF rivalry.
They can create the Bob Stoops Trophy for that game. I'm imagining a big gigantic dildo in a barrel of meth.
The next Bosch novel is another Bosch and Haller adventure.
