  1. As an extremely casual follower of women's basketball, who are the favorites in the conference? Besides South Carolina. I assume LSU will continue to be be tough under Kim Mulkey. I know Tennessee hired a new coach and is trying to get back to being the Tennessee of old. Who else is expected to challenge South Carolina?
  2. Airing on September 6th. TBH the women here don't look as frightful as I thought would be the case.
  3. I have live in Texas for all of my 50 years and today I learned there is something called "Clemville". Same applies to Midfield. I always assumed kids in Markham attended Bay City schools. I have driven through Francitas when I mix things up and take 616 but never thought about where those kids would go to school. This past football season as Tidehaven was making its run I saw them referred to as "El Maton Tidehaven". I had never seen or heard them referenced that way.
  4. As someone who drives on 35 all the time and passes Tidehaven HS during that trip, where in the hell do the students come from? There is nothing out there except farms. I know Tidehaven is a small school but still. There is a whole lot of nothing out that way.
  5. I don't know if any of Lady Gaga's music is considered great but I am not ashamed to admit that when I come across some of her music I stop and listen. I think my favorite is Edge Of Glory. I am not going back through the thread to see if it has been posted already. Apologies if it has.
  6. Brazilian singer dies from electrocution after ‘hugging wet fan’ at concert
  7. https://www.winsipedia.com/games/texas/vs/vanderbilt Damn, you are spot on with 1928. Anyone know why of the 12 times Texas and Vanderbilt have faced each other, 7 of the games were in Dallas? Vanderbilt has only been to Austin 1 time for a football game. I know things were a lot different 100 years ago but that just seems odd to me.

  9. This new offering by the Kansas City Royals at their ballpark must have been inspired by this thread.

    Mr Gatti's

That's my childhood Gatti's. Looks like it isn't there anymore. Kind of surprised there is not one anywhere in the area.

    Mr Gatti's

I think nearly ever end of season party for little league and soccer as a kid was held in the Mr. Gatti's where I grew up. This was the 80s and the Gatti's had a projection television that seemed like something from the future when I was a kid. It also had the most kick ass arcade room outside of the arcade at the mall. Much of my allowance was deposited into those games.
  12. I picked up a can of Spectracide Pro at Lowe's to deal with some wasps around my house. Seemed to work quite effectively.
  13. While I like Madonna's music just fine, something about "Ray Of Light" appeals to me more than the rest of her catalog.
  14. I'll just put this here instead of resurrecting the Masters thread. I don't know about beloved, but one hears the Masters theme and immediately thinks of Augusta. Also, in case you are wondering, Dave Loggins was related to Kenny Loggins. The two were second cousins. Dave Loggins, who wrote beloved Masters theme music, dies at 76 Also, in things I did not know before, there are lyrics to the Masters theme. CBS only ever plays the instrumental version. And it has an official title: "Augusta". Really going out on a limb with that song title.
  15. The Irish (not the Notre Dame Fighting Irish but real Irish in Ireland) can apparently build a bonfire stack over 200 feet high without it falling over. Some dude did a base jump off the stack. ‘World’s first base jump’ from controversial 200ft bonfire in Larne Surely if aggy finds out about this there will be a lawsuit or at least a strongly worded letter written.
  16. Again, SIAP, but this one reminds me of my dog I had to have put down a few years ago and still miss dearly.
  17. SIAP but every time I hear this song I can't help but think of my dog.
  18. When it comes to answering a question of what is the worst or what sucks the most, the answer is always the land thieves. Now, we do have 120+ years of having to put up with their stupid song. That would be hard for Rocky Top or any other monotonous, repetitive song to overcome.
  19. I believe the correct phrase is "clothing challenged".
  20. The kid from ALF was found dead the other day. Also found dead: his service dog. https://www.tmz.com/2024/07/10/alf-star-benji-gregory-dead-dies/
