  1. If you are coming through Aransas Pass on old Highway 35 (what becomes Commercial Street in Aransas Pass), the tacos at Taco de Oro in Aransas Pass are good. If you take Highway 35 bypass and go through Aransas Pass on Wheeler, Taqueria Mi Mexico has solid tacos. There are a couple of other options in Aransas Pass if you go just south of 361 on Commercial where you can grab some tacos. Taqueria Guadalajara and San Juan. If you prefer Laredo Taco Company, there is a Stripes on 361 past the HEB in Aransas Pass.
  2. Don't see a general softball thread so I'll post this here. Auburn has new leadership for its softball program. Husband and wife coming over from Tennessee. Husband is aggy.

    2024 NCAA Baseball

Crazy story about the Birmingham Southern baseball team in the DIII World Series. Team is still playing even though the school literally closed this past Friday. Staved off elimination today in walk-off fashion.
  4. A quick Google search shows Athletes Unlimited pro softball starting in late July. Janae Jefferson is on the Texas Smoke of the Women's Professional Fastpitch league. Its website doesn't seem to offer up much information on the league.
  5. 1. I presume this is a group activity wherein an individual aggy is finger poppin the asshole of another aggy. I operate on the assumption that an individual aggy is not smart enough or flexible enough to finger pop his or her own asshole. 2. Finger Poppin Assholes has good band name potential. Is that what the Cherry Poppin Daddies are known as now?

  7. Seems relevant to this thread: if you are going to eat bear meat, make sure to cook it thoroughly. Six people ate undercooked bear meat and now have brain worms
  8. I remember seeing a feature on McCarthy on CBS Sunday Morning back in 2021. This was done when he had a book coming out. How much is self-serving, how much is honest reflection, I have no idea. All I really remembered was the part about being airbrushed out of a photo that ran with a story about other members of the Brat Pack. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/andrew-mccarthy-no-longer-running-from-his-youth/
  9. Without reading the label, I am going to assume that it is the Gatorade version of this.

  12. Since Wake Forest won the title last year, that is not the case. I posted a story about this in the men's golf team thread, but Texas men's coach John Fields is spearheading a movement to make La Costa the permanent site of the NCAA golf championships. Here is an article from the San Diego paper about La Costa and how Texas became this year's host. Relevant part from the linked article: Your next question: Why is Texas hosting a college golf tournament in Carlsbad? The original choice was San Diego State, just as Arizona State was the NCAA championships host at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., for the previous three years. “Everything was going pretty smoothly,” said Aztecs men’s coach Ryan Donovan, whose team fell one place short of qualifying this year. “Then kind of at the last hour, they decided that, well, you’re not going to have any access to the golf course. Like, you can’t play here one round. All the other courses in previous years, that’s part of the deal when you host (to have access). You put all that effort in. “Once they said that, I said, ‘Why? So we could see our name on TV a couple times that it’s hosted by San Diego State?’ I just didn’t think there was enough value for the effort and work we were going to have to do with no guarantee of playing in it.” Texas stepped in to preserve the event’s neutrality, and Donovan admits it was a good decision given Field’s stature and contacts. One of those contacts is Robert Rowling, the billionaire owner of Omni Hotels and a prominent University of Texas donor.

  15. I know there is a thread about this but I will very disappointed if the SEC does not go to a 9 game schedule soon with a 3-6-6 scheduling format. I do not want to go a decade or longer in between matchups. What the hell is the point of being in a conference with other schools if you play them so infrequently it feels like a non-conference matchup? I am already annoyed that the conference has yet to pull the trigger on getting this settled. Tell the bitch schools that don't want a 9 game schedule that they can take the media rights check and shut the fuck up and stop being pussies. Now back to the regularly scheduled shitting on aggy...
  16. Seems, if not appropriate, then at least adjacent to this thread. Indiana judge rules tacos, burritos are sandwiches Allen Superior Judge Craig J. Bobay on Monday ruled a Famous Taco restaurant would be permittable and the commitments don’t need to be amended. In his ruling, the judge wrote, “The proposed Famous Taco restaurant falls within the scope of the general use approved in the original Written Commitment. The proposed Famous Taco restaurant would serve made-to-order tacos, burritos, and other Mexican-style food, and would not have outdoor seating, drive through service, or serve alcohol. The Court agrees with Quintana that tacos and burritos are Mexican style sandwiches, and the original Written Commitment does not restrict potential restaurants to only American cuisine-style sandwiches.” The judge also noted that, despite his ruling, he did not consider the plan commission’s actions to be improper, leaving the door open for an appeal.
