  1. “I’ll pay you $350,000 for your house as long as a human can go out there, look around, and make sure that price isn’t wildly off” is an interesting model but it’s not quite the same as “push this button to sell your house for $350,000.” And “I’ll pay $350,000 for a house and then send out a crew to replace the carpets” is not quite the same as “I’ll pay $350,000 for a house and flip it 20 minutes later for $355,000, collecting a small spread for providing liquidity.” Computerization has come into the housing market, but it hasn’t taken it over yet. It would be one thing is that is what they are doing, but that is not what I'm seeing. I'm seeing them put houses on the market that have been barely maintained and no repairs or improvements made between the time they buy and list it. On top of that, they are pricing at the top of the market plus 15-20%.
  2. US Marshals must have had a hell of a seizure. The company in Pflugerville that handles their auctions (also did the Madoff auctions for them) has an auction going with probably more than 20 watches going over $10K right now (a lot of blinged out Rolex) including two Richard Mille that are at $211K and $227K respectively.
  3. Just out of curiosity, what are the thresholds for high net worth? I know, I know, if you have to ask, you can't afford it.
  4. I was Dobie 85-86 and I don't remember a meal plan. Nikki's, McDonald's, Amy's and the arcade were must sees and then there was GM Steak House just across the Drag.
  5. Yeah, yeah, he looks pretty crappy
  6. And who would they be trying get market share from? Local realtors? I don't think they'll make much of a dent in that since they still need the locals to sell their houses. Open door and the like?
  7. Texas won pool play with a tie vs. Oklahoma St. Down early in the championship round to Tech.
  8. It's the same all over the central Texas region. They bought a house in the Pflugerville area and have it listed at 20% over two comps that have sold in the last couple of months (both closed after the school rush, but went under contract during it), and this house is not even in as good of a condition as the others. Only half kidding, is there some type of money laundering going on?
  9. Reviving an old thread with a new question. I just had my interview today and have a change in my status on the TTP webpage. My issue is that my old phone died on my a couple of months ago and I completely forgot about Google Authenticator and how you have to use it to access the page. It looks like the only option is to delete my account and set up a new one to get the Authenticator to work again with the codes. Does anyone know if this will screw everything up (TSA Pre-check and Global Entry)? Any ideas on another way to get back in to set up access?
  10. Depending on where you are geographically and the amount of shade, I would imagine that the teak will get hotter than hell in the summer also...especially if stained darker
  11. Interesting fact...burn bans in Travis County do not affect the use of fireworks
  12. Always seems to be the case
  13. Damn, Apocalypse (James Harrison of Pittsburgh Steeler fame) is huge
  14. Not sure what this is saying. There isn't a single campus in the Pflugerville ISD (other than an alternative campus) that doesn't have at least 5 cases of Covid reported. I'm hoping you're right, but more than likely, it's just PfISD not sending out notices.
  15. On our trip to Turks and Caicos, I was wearing a Texas shirt and a guy on the beach started a conversation about Texas football. Turns out he has been a coach in the NFL for 25 years with a lot of them as an offensive line coach. He was not a big fan on Flood. He said it's easy to coach when you have the best, but really didn't see Flood adding a lot to the development. I was surprised to say the least, but he is listed on the NFL team's roster as their offensive line coach. Opinions are like assholes and such, so take it however you'd like.
  16. Of course it's going to rain early next week, I'm pumping my pond dry to deepen/widen/clean it up over the weekend. They are supposed to start the dirtwork on Monday. Y'all can thank me later.
  17. My wife's cousin and wife fostered two boys (one born addicted and going through withdrawals). They were approached by CPS about fostering the boy's two sisters which they gladly did. They are soon to be the adoptive parents of the four children. They were approached by CPS that the mother was pregnant again (and still on drugs) and asking them to take the fifth child. They declined and it almost wrecked them emotionally to do it. They are really great kids that got dealt a shit hand.
  18. Is it their voices not being heard or is it that they aren't getting their way? Seems to me their voices were heard and studies were commissioned, they just didn't get the results they wanted. A trophy and medal for everyone.
  19. Just read that Mickey Kross, one of the firefighters that survived the collapse in The Miracle of Stairwell B (the one that didn't look good at all in the documentary) passed away 4 days ago
  20. There were also several smaller fires around the Derkaville/Hutto area
  21. I can't imagine finding out that while you were saying the Lord's Prayer with the injured co-worker, your sister and niece died right over your head on the second plane. Talk about feeling cursed.
  22. That's Kermit Ruffins playing
  23. The H10 feed came back live but not sure they realized it. One of the guys said he just found out his sister had a heart attack last night and was trying to find out his she is doing. They then went to constant commercial stream they are in now
  24. Pflugerville had 165 with a lot fewer students...we win?
