  1. This applies in Cedar Park also, so frustrating. Maybe, huge monstrous maybe, Pouliot (already 29 years old) can move up in a spot role, but there is not much there on defense otherwise. Texas has developed a real penchant for allowing breakaways both at even strength and when on the power play. I think they've given up 4 shorties in the last 3 weeks. As an aside, Riley Tufte (now with the Colorado Eagles) won the AHL fastest slap shot competition and finished second in the accuracy (targets in the goal) contest.
  2. Also wonder if Neo was shooting for a Texas flag and came up a little short with the flag of Chile
  3. Roger Moore, Christopher Walken and Grace Jones. Alison Doody can take of any injuries that I might suffer. I have a chance.
  4. Our septic has a hard plastic pre-filter that has to be cleaned at least twice a year or the tank will back up resulting in a delightful earthy aroma around the house. Had no idea we had that (haven't ever seen a system with a pre-filter) and only found out by having the tanks pumped. I guess it saves on having to lift the pump, so I have that going for me...which is nice
  5. Not a tv ad, but the Apple leasing commercial where the stupid woman wants a new car because she needs new brakes, her kids have made her car messy and she wants the new car smell drives me up the wall. Clean the damn car and if you are replacing brakes that quick, maybe change how you drive.
  6. To be fair, it could be the stars you see as you pass out from bad air
  7. You said My squirrel twice (I thought better of the you said rape twice gif)
  8. Curious who you see with the Texas Stars as NHL ready. Stankoven is too small and getting punished. Bourke has flashes, but... Murray has been shit since he came back from Dallas (some very soft goals including a slapper unobstructed from the red line), Poirier hasn't been any better. Currently on a six game slide and getting out-physicalled and outskated. Maybe just in a rough patch, but they can't seem to clear the puck or mount much of offensive zone time lately.
  9. Looks like a multi-purpose squeegee handle
  10. I assume this is a gas log fireplace as the smoke from a wood fire would have been an alert that the flue was closed. Hate to be that guy, but those kits come with the device to keep the flue from closing all of the way to keep this and carbon monoxide buildup from happening. Thread derail over
  11. This song was featured in last episode of season 7 of Magnum PI (the good one, not the bastard remake). This is the episode where Magnum was shot (I believe it was supposed to be the finale, but they brought it back for a partial season) and was walking through the clouds with this song playing. I've always thought that it was one of the best pairings of songs and scene I've ever seen. After rewatching, maybe not as good as I remembered, but still pretty good. Song comes in around 1:25
  12. Might work to your advantage if you can raise a cloud on title. It'll have to be resolved before they can close and they might be more inclined to work with you.
  13. Power back. I'm not sure some of the neighbors even noticed. Hope they get back to sleep after the late night phone call.
  14. As usual, power is now out. Saying back on by midnight but they really don't know because they don't know why it's out. Of course, in 2022, we lost power 13 times for at least 30 minutes in a 6 month span. We are less than 10 minutes from 130 east of Pflugerville, so not in the sticks. Hence the $20K generator installed. Feel bad for the neighbors. Will be calling them to let them know the door is open.
  15. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust or something like that
  16. From NASDAQ The percentage of buyers who have a monthly car payment of over $1,000 has gone up to 17.5% in the third quarter of 2023. Sorry for the crappy quote. The percentage is 17.5% of new car purchases in Q3 2023, have a payment over $1,000. I'm sure that is with notes extended as long as possible
  17. Highland Lanes If you are looking for Wednesday night, they have a 6pm and an 830pm league. The 6 might be easier to get into as a solo and it's more social. The 830 is fairly top heavy, but there might be something in the "lower" teams. Call highland and leave a message for Sue, she is the secretary for the 830. Don't know the secretary for the 6 league. Monday night has a league that begins on the 15th (meeting on the 8th..hoping to miss that one due to Texas game). It's a 16 week season and is more social. Ellen is the secretary for that league. DM if interested and I'll get you her number. I know there was at least one team with a vacancy the whole season in the fall.
  18. With less than 2:30 to go, does Kentucky really think they'll get the ball back after a TD drive?
  19. Why would you not go for two? What does a 5 point lead get you?
  20. Interesting, like I said, confirmation bias. I only remember her coming in for the first sub and shanking a pass. The lineup for the next serve was her pinched into the corner with Halter covering.
  21. I'll be the first to say that I'm not a volleyball expert, hell, not even a journeyman (have watched Texas volleyball ever since the advent of the LHN), but is Akana really a plus defensive specialist? It seems her serve win rate is lower than most the team (seems to have a higher percentage of errors to wins). To my mind, when a defensive specialist comes in, that should be a person that is intentionally served away from, but the moment she touches the court, she is the target. It was so bad at the Final Four that Halter was pinching right to cover about 1.5 "areas" and pushing Akana to cover only about 8-10 feet in the deep right corner. I guess what I'm really looking for is someone to fill in the gaps in my understanding. I could very well be suffering from confirmation bias and am missing the forest for the trees.
  22. I thought I was going to shop around and tell Germania to pound sand. They raised the insured value on my house by $100,000 (no problem there). What sucked is that they raised my deductible to 2% and increased my premium by 50%. Had a hail storm in 2021 on a 6 year old roof so that was replaced, but that's it. Anywhoo, after checking around, I sat back down and shut up. I really wasn't finding anything better. Don't really know what is going to happen to families in starter homes that would have to come deep out of pocket after a major hail storm. They probably can't afford to scratch a 5 figure check. I wonder what will happen with roof leaks and banks holding the notes. Of course, I also wonder what will happen with the water rates going up so much and people choosing to not water. How many slabs are going to pop in the next severe drought.
  23. Looks like he might be wearing LSU gloves during the game
