  1. I went to protest my mom's taxes years ago, and the head appraiser at the time tried to explain class adjustments. She said it amounted to "counting corners" (exterior corners) of the house. I said that that makes no sense whatsoever but I'll play along. I asked her to explain how houses with the same exact floorplan, built at the same time and in the same subdivision could be different classes and she proceeded to step all over her dick by way of explanation. Finally, she admitted that mistakes were made. Of course, she then proceeded to argue with me about rules of mathematics. She claimed that if a number above the median is lowered below the median, the median is not moved. Again, mistakes were made.
  2. I've seen these guys at the Moody Amphitheater a couple of years ago. They are coming back to Austin in August with Kenny Loggins in tow. Yacht Rock Revue
  3. I read it differently. I don't think you go back in time, you just start now at 6 with the knowledge. With the way the world is going, give me the $10 million, and I'll check out in the next 20 years or so.
  4. Watching The Wire for the first time and the closed captioning has suddenly quit working. It was working fine under the HBO Max app, but now only about a fifth of the lines come up and this is on any show, not just The Wire. Anyone else having the same issue with the app?
  5. Okay, I had to look it up. If the googles are to be believed, Solovyov is 5'4.5". Teamed up with Putin, they might be able to capture the midget wrestling world championship.
  6. Probably planned. Is the second base ump the crew chief? If not, I wonder why was he going after him after the coach got tossed
  7. Oh noes, we are going to drown. Travis County has started sending out the bilingual weather warnings
  8. Hasn't this been the Feds MO for the last 2 decades plus? Slow to react in both ways, it seems. Why should now be any different?
  9. I ended up mowing twice with the reel mower. It was a lot of grass, but I gave it to the neighboring cows to recycle. Love the mower even though it's a little more work and I might actually be able to do a little striping. I was thinking of going lower, but I think I'll leave it here for a bit and see.
  10. PSA - if anyone is considering a Polaris Quattro Sport, you'd be better off lighting 10 $100 bills on fire. I have had one for 3 years and have had to had it rebuilt 3 times. My pool company's owner has had his rebuilt 5 times. According to Polaris, the problem is that the grit destroys the gearing and the Polaris rep claimed that it was must be because the pool isn't very clean. I thought the purpose of them was to clean the grit from the bottom of the pool. Anyhoo, just don't do it. I'm probably going back to an old school Polaris with the bag on top.
  11. Tufte called up from Cedar Park. Insurance for Pavelski, I'd assume
  12. Have a well established TexTurf 10 hybrid bermuda and I've decided to go the reel mower route. I have one on order and should be here in a couple of weeks or so. Will that be too late to scalp it down? I would like to keep it in the .75 to 1 inch height to thicken it up. My yard is the not the most level (bad timing with really heavy downpours right before yard installed), so I'm hoping this will help alleviate the scalping that I would get from a rotary trying to go that low.
  13. From reading this thread, I think it involves lots and lots of ZJs
  14. Short answer, without knowing shit about fuck as to the specific property, it looks like you have sellers that missed the market. They overpriced thinking they'd make a killing and the reality slowly dawned, resulting in small price decreases. Probably should have been listed somewhere around the price when it was pulled off the market. End result is the house got a stank put on it by listing it way too high and people will begin to question what is wrong with the house.
  15. I thought about signing the post The Dickless Wonder, but that seemed presumptuous...besides, I'm a little sensitive about missing body parts
  16. Again, Days on Market follow the address, not the listing number. Making changes to the listing do not affect either measure. The ADOM can be "stopped" by the house going pending, but they restart the second the house goes back active. I can't see it making much sense to pull the house off of the market for 30 days to reset ADOM or 90 days to reset CDOM. You are cutting off your nose to spite your face if you are really looking to sell.
  17. Just an FYI, you don't reset the Days on the Market just by pulling a listing off the MLS. It has to be off for a certain amount of time. 30 days to reset Active Days on the Market and 90 days to reset the Cumulative Days On the Market. Even then, the information is still readily available with the listing to see the history of the listing (including instances where the listing number changes).
  18. Is anyone from the Austin area willing to pick me up a gnome if they get the chance? They were gone by the time we were able to get in the pro shop at 1030. I can meet you with cash when you get back.
  19. Made the Ahl all star game this year. Pretty quick and doesn't seen to make many mistakes. Not really a banger, though
  20. Get there about 730 and you'll have no problem parking. We parked at the north gate, well about a half mile from it, for free and we got there a little before 8 today. Get there early and hit the pro shop first thing. They shut the line down today due about an hour as the lines were to long. Either that or head to south gate by #16. It wasn't as crowded
  21. In Augusta now. The Hooters is advertising Daly but he's not there yet. Eating right by the course. First timer, going tomorrow. Thanks for the tips. Hoping the rain holds off tomorrow
  22. He looked okay Friday night. Gave up a tentatively soft looking goal from the left point. The goal in overtime was quick and I had looked away so didn't really see it
  23. Thanks for all of the great info. I'm so excited to just see the course in person.
  24. I'm willing to be that there was plenty of evidence of settling if it required 33 piers. The painting more than likely included trying to fix the sheetrock cracks at the windows and doors. I'm also willing to bet that the doors didn't stay open in place and moved around after positioning. I'm glad it worked out, but that just screams of the sellers trying to get by while also being prepared to pony up if caught.
