  1. Where did you see that SWA locked in prices for 10 years? This is from the most recent 8k filed this month. https://otp.tools.investis.com/clients/us/southwest/SEC/sec-show.aspx?Type=page&FilingId=16247511-6425-48485&CIK=0000092380&Index=20000 SWA is 56% hedged for 1Q 2023 with a forecasted hedging gain (hedged at $70 per barrel--current price is around $80--so, on fuel, they are doing better than the spot market) and 50% hedged for all of 2023. SWA currently is 15% hedged for all of 2024.
  2. My communist niece was well behaved yesterday. Great Christmas Eve celebration with my growing family. Life is good.
  3. We seem to be doing ok in meeting the demand.
  4. I’m bringing homemade Apple Strudel to our family’s Christmas celebration. It doesn’t suck. I’ve been making this for about 10 years and the phyllo dough is surprisingly easy to do.
  5. As mentioned, 1989 was bad, but December 1983 was way worse. That was my senior year at UT. IIRC, the temp stayed below freezing for about a week or so in the Houston area. We never lost power, but our pipes froze in the attic. We were deer hunting for much of that cold snap and it was so cold we didn't see one fucking deer.
  6. Despite the obvious inaccuracies, The Battle of the Bulge is still one of my favorite war movies. It’s hard to capture a month long battle with a two hour movie. Some of the things mentioned or shown in the movie actually happened. The massacre at Malmedy was real. Other old favorites include The Dirty Dozen (fiction), The Longest Day, Tora Tora Tora, A Bridge Too Far, The Battle of Britain, PT-109 (arguably pro JFK propaganda, but i still like it) and of course Patton.
  7. For followers of Christ this is always a must watch this time of year. Merry Christmas Charlie Brown!!
  8. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out! I agree it’s a stupid law, but if you can’t plan just a little ahead and stock up then it’s your fault.
  9. Did he get tested? I’m now getting over my quarterly seasonal allergies. I had no fever—just sinus drainage and a cough for a couple of days. I tested negative for Covid—suspected as much because I’ve had these symptoms hundreds of times, so I haven’t restricted my activities.
  10. It’s the other side that’s problematic in our family. We have a leftist BSC niece that makes everything about politics. She can single handedly ruin Christmas.

I miss the trips to the train station.
  12. Second year in a row I won a new Titleist driver at a Christmas raffle. The new TSr2 with the HZRDUS Black 4 gen shaft is nice.
  13. We should respect their privacy and not watch it.
  14. There are other elements for establishing a common law marriage. Google it.
  15. Man, my colonoscopy wasn’t bad at all. Sure, the prep sucks, but the propofal recovery was so wonderful it was worth it. I’m due for my next one in 2024 and I’m actually looking forward to it.
  16. Agreed. My only complaint is that the end of the gripe wears out from the wear and tear of going in and out of my bag. I’m about to get my third one in 4 years. I may start taping the tip with some heavy tape.
  17. Lol. It’s been my thing for 55 years! That’s why we need orthos after 50 YO. Were you a sit at home nerd?

It was a stupid fight scene. The few times I’ve seen women fight (non-pros) they look more like the gypsy women fighting in From Russia with Love than each throwing round house punches.
  19. Fondren, Provenzano et al, and Methodist are all good. I’ve been to all of them.
  20. Pretty much what i would recommend unless I smoke it first. Too bad your brother doesn’t like it smoked. Who doesn’t like smoked meat?
  21. About to post this. That’s how my grandmother made dumplings. They turn out fluffier than the thick pasta like dumplings you typically see in chicken and dumplings.
  22. Yes, I do remember those. Actually, it was my father's beer, not my grandfather's and I did not have to sneak the first sip. I was raised in that eastern European beer culture that begins in west Fort Bend County and runs west out old US 90. All the kids drank beer at an early age.
