  1. Agreed. My only complaint is that the end of the gripe wears out from the wear and tear of going in and out of my bag. I’m about to get my third one in 4 years. I may start taping the tip with some heavy tape.
  2. Lol. It’s been my thing for 55 years! That’s why we need orthos after 50 YO. Were you a sit at home nerd?

It was a stupid fight scene. The few times I’ve seen women fight (non-pros) they look more like the gypsy women fighting in From Russia with Love than each throwing round house punches.
  4. Fondren, Provenzano et al, and Methodist are all good. I’ve been to all of them.
  5. Pretty much what i would recommend unless I smoke it first. Too bad your brother doesn’t like it smoked. Who doesn’t like smoked meat?
  6. About to post this. That’s how my grandmother made dumplings. They turn out fluffier than the thick pasta like dumplings you typically see in chicken and dumplings.
  7. Yes, I do remember those. Actually, it was my father's beer, not my grandfather's and I did not have to sneak the first sip. I was raised in that eastern European beer culture that begins in west Fort Bend County and runs west out old US 90. All the kids drank beer at an early age.
  8. My story, and brand, as well. Jax was very popular in SE Texas in the 60's and very early 70's. Loved beer from that first sip . . .
  9. Oldsmobile Schlitz (though maybe available in some places) Aunt Jemima
  10. I understand everything in Lucia’s business is negotiated, but is $1,300 a night a lot for a woman of her looks and skills? Not asking for a friend.
  11. I’ve used the Meater twice now and I like it. It is rather thick but it doesn’t bother me. It’s been very accurate on the internal temp. I also like the estimated time to target temp feature.
  12. Yes. Selleck’s expression was perfect.
  13. That may be the case, but they still play for I-Ran. Fuck them.
  14. To me it was like the old East Germany.
  15. I saw the Evan Williams ready made eggnog at the new Spec’s on Fountain View (nice store, by the way) and had to give it a try. Not as good as homemade, of course, but it worked for a night cap after a long day.
  16. Portia needs to get tested. Hope she has a good supply of rubbers. I’m guessing her boss will tell her what she saw. Lucia’s tits—hell, her whole body, are amazing. Lucia is my favorite character in the show. I can’t figure out Harper’s husband. He seems to be scared of sex with his wife. Is he gay?
  17. It’s awesome. Been doing it for years. I had it last night. I use puff pastry but regular pie crust works well too.
  18. My Masterbuild XL electric fryer would not turn on so we had to roast the turkey instead. The damned fryer didn’t even last 3 holiday seasons. Turkey turned out great. 450 for about a half hour and then covered it with foil and reduced temp to 425 for another 2 hours until breast reached 165 degrees. In anticipation of frying it, I injected it with Chachere’s Cajun Butter and coated it with Chachere’s seasoning the morning of the cook. The flavor was perfect and it was very moist. It was a frozen 20 lb HEB All Natural Young Turkey thawed in the fridge for 5 days. Sorry, no pics. i used a MEATER Bluetooth temperature probe and it worked very well. The estimated time to being done function worked surprisingly well.
  19. yep. The only good thing is that it shows who I should put on ignore.
  20. This. You smell them before you see them.

    Getting old sucks

Both shingles shots gave me fever and chills for about 24 hours. Still worth it.
  22. Should be obvious. More bars, more events, and more big city problems that can become an issue. In the cities I mentioned, compared to Austin, there’s not much to do besides chase tail and everyone does that no matter where they are. Just to be clear, I never said that Austin is the only problem. It’s the coach first (and I’ll repeat that Sark is not the guy) and I agree that the BMD’s are too involved in the process. I still think Austin also is a factor.
  23. That’s a problem as well, no doubt. But it’s a lot easier for the players, who tend to not be the most disciplined young men to begin with, to stay focused in places like Tuscaloosa, Athens, Baton Rouge, etc., where there’s not as much going on.
