Those 82 Bordeaux appear to have been well stored and not moved much. Labels seem perfect.
  2. As your last sentence suggests, it assumes the new shot works against this and perhaps the next variant. It might.
  3. I recently read The Few by Alex Kershaw. Great book. It’s about several American flyers that joined the RAF in the summer of 1940. Because they were violating the neutrality laws they basically had to smuggle themselves out of the country through Canada.
  4. The Harfoot (sp?) are similar to hobbits but not exactly the same. Just a guess but maybe they are hobbits’ ancestors.
  5. This is where I am, although I got Covid this past June. Very mild case. My last booster was late November 2021.
  6. Weird to see holding calls against an SEC team.
  7. We like the result because he’s a bad guy, but it’s not the way prosecutors are supposed to act. The second DA arguably acted unethically.
  8. The nice thing about sous vide is you can leave the beef in there for quite some time to tenderize. So, yes, I totally would sous vide some skirt steak. This. I’ve done it and it takes several hours in the water bath for the skirt steak to get tender. Maybe it goes quicker if you marinate the meat and then sous vide it, but I haven’t had good results with the sous vide when the meat had been marinated. In any event, I think fajitas are better cooked the traditional way—marinate for a few hours and then grill on a hot fire.
  9. Another thing to consider is that these elbow tendon injuries are extremely variable and unique to each individual. One size does not fit all. In my case, I had always believed that tennis elbow was a minor thing that would go away in a week or two. After the pain started i took a couple of Advil and played in a tournament and I injured it further and then I was 20 months in rehab and reduced activity and zero tennis. But then some people do heal in a matter of weeks. Some injuries are more severe than others and people heal differently and people have different pain tolerances. Age also matters. The safe thing is to quit or severely reduce activities until the pain goes completely away and then wait another month before resuming the activity that caused it. As for cortisone shots, I had three of them spaced out over several months. They helped for a while but the pain always came back.
  10. Do you have to use so many cuss words?
  11. I had tennis elbow which is micro tears on a different tendon on the other side of the elbow. I found that heat was way better than ice. And do the other things you mentioned. You may need formal PT. Rest is key. I didn’t rest mine as I should have and I could not play tennis for about 20 months. I could play golf. Doctor said it wouldn’t hurt it further but it was like picking a scab. I also wore the bandit brace all day except for when I slept.
  12. The ship channel pilots are pretty bad ass. I’m assuming they were in charge of the move.
  13. Yep. This weather sucks. 77057 has had almost 13 inches of rain this month. And more than a 50% chance of rain the next 10 days.
  14. Looking back at the July 2021 posts when the announcement was made there was talk that the Big 12 would dissolve almost instantly. Then there was talk about UT actually joining the SEC with the 2022 season and certainly by 2023. So now it seems that the earliest time would be the 2024 season? So maybe one season early?

I like Gigondas. Get a St. Cosme. Most CDPs are better but if she wants a Gigondas then get one.
  16. Another 2 inches overnight in 77057. About 10 inches so far in August. Shame we can't spread it out. It continues to screw up my golf plans.
  17. I believe this was one of the early cases of someone criminally charged with disrupting a flight. It was around 1993-95 on a flight to or from Houston/Cancun, IIRC, and a guy had a few too many and wouldn't obey instructions from the flight attendant. IIRC, he wasn't directly hurting or threatening anyone. It was something like he wouldn't turn down his boom box (do we still have those?). A federal judge in Houston gave him a several month prison sentence. Some guys in our mail room knew the guy and swore he was a good guy but that he just made a poor decision. They were asking for lawyers to join in writing a letter to the judge to reduce the sentence. It didn't work.

    Gumbo

This. Prudomme talks about this in his original cookbook. He strives for a black roux which is hard to do without burning it. He also says that your color is perfectly fine for a good gumbo. I find that sometimes if I get it too dark that I have a hard incorporating the roux into the stock. Bottom line is that I get it to your color and then add the trinity as SA says.
  19. I wonder how much workers' comp insurance costs for a BBQ joint? They apparently could afford it when they got the back-dated policy. I can't imagine workers' comp for a BBQ joint is very expensive. Unless they are operating a deli slicer, and those seem fairly safe these days, we are talking about minor cuts and slip and falls.
  20. Among possibly other things, the application requires specific disclosures of known claims. So the insurance company asked the question and, if the allegations are true, they lied. That said, it does seem odd to back date coverage date.
  21. Joe Doggett of the Houston Chronicle said he would slay them in Breas Bayou on flies made with coffee beans. Look like June Bugs.
  22. This generation of Muellers seems to have a hard time obeying the law.
