Coombs is not a good DC. He's a badass recruiter and DB coach, but not a DC. The fact that they went into last night's game thinking they could stick with their base 4-3 against Bama should be cause for automatic termination.

LBs were the only healthy position group.  DL and DB numbers were decimated by injury and COVID absences

Rooting for Ohio State should be viewed as rooting for Oklahoma

I don't know why this is such a difficult thing for people on this board to realize.

    Michigan = Texas
    Ohio State = Oklahoma
    Michigan State = Texas A&M

There is no other trio of schools in the entire country that come close to this parallel.

Texas certainly loves to compare itself to UM at every opportunity.

  3. Union sold 21 year old CB Mark McKenzie to Genk for $6 million.  The Euro demand for US talent is only going to accelerate.  If USL developed fully funded academies, the US could be a permanent fixture in the Top 15.

Can we not just put Reyna up there?

Every option should be on the table at this point.  Are we really going to play a 4-3-3 in the World Cup? Seems like we need more protection for our CBs against good teams than a  4-2-3-1 would provide.  Put Adams and McKennie behind Reyna, Pulisic and Weah wide and someone with a pulse at the 9.

You mean find a starting forward among the MLS crop, right? The MNT already has their senior MNT forwards as far as Surly is concerned (Sargent and Weah).

The collective wisdom of surly is irrelevant to Berhalter.  Weah now plays on the wing for Lille where he is far more effective.  Sargent has scored 1 league goal this season and 3 since October 2019.  He has had more yellow cards than goals during that period.  CF is completely up for grabs on this team.

It is also very difficult for them to maintain any amount of emotional stability when there is so much uncertainty that any of their current coaches will even be there from one moment to the next, with all of their coaches eventually being dismissed for violating NCAA rules or committing other legal/moral improprieties.  It really is a precarious existence holding any sort of fealty to anything related to Ohio.

Certainly a less precarious existence than firing every coach since Royal for sucking ass.

The ex-Deadspin guys hate college football as an institution. A lot of them are talented writers, but they're completely unreadable on the topic.

This is absolutely 100000% correct and the root basis for most of white americans political “outrage”

Its sad and hilarious. Most whites dont realize that there will be very few white people in power in 100 years, regardless of how they vote

    Ever heard of Brazil?

  9. A majority of Americans have an IQ of less than 100 and almost all Americans were educated in our laughably poor public school system.  The average voter possesses limited intellectual capacity and received a pathetic education.  These realities won't change during our lifetimes so I recommend acceptance.  Democracy is an aspirational concept that ignores the unrelenting mediocrity of humanity.  Just an elaborate game played by groups of self-serving politically engaged elites to determine who can best manipulate the masses into pushing a button.  That said, I'm not convinced that blindly pushing a button based on tribal allegiance is any more stupid than spending thousands of hours on this board smelling one's farts and changing zero minds.

True as this may be, this site will be circle jerking over practice reports and predicting 9-10 wins as the floor over the summer like it always is. Plenty will still go to games and we’ll all be watching.

I don't know.  I can't recall a Texas football coach who was more reviled by the fanbase than Herman currently is. The opening of the SEZ is going to be quite a dud
