  1. Beto has to dramatically improve his numbers in IA and NH because he is going to get pummeled in SC.  Beto's numbers in NH have been weak (3%) since the Butt boost and he has hovered around 5% in Iowa for months.

  2. Blacks generally aren't inclined to vote for atheist Jews (Bernie), old white women (Warren), gays (Mayor Pete) or whatever the fuck Beto is.  Biden's support among blacks will only increase when Harris and Booker inevitably drop out.

Moderate whites want a moderate white who they perceive has the best chance to beat Trump.  That's Biden.

It's a tough spot for the candidates other than Bernie.  They aren't going to "out-progressive" the OG progressive in Bernie or make many inroads with blacks (assuming that Harris is not considered a viable candidate).  Good luck clamoring back to the right to pick up the moderates who just want to depose Trump.

  3. The episode was a mixed bag that included some of the worst scenes in the entire series (Rhaegal's death, Gendry's proposal to Arya, Bronn walking into Winterfell with his crossbow) but also some relatively classic scenes (Hound and Arya scenes, Tormund scenes, Varys and Tyrion scenes).  It served its purpose to assemble the characters for the final battle but certainly won't be remembered as a great episode.

Rhaegal's death was the low point of the season for me.  Just incredibly weak writing.  Why not have Dany just see the ships from a distance and lead the two dragons to burn them up only to be taken by surprise by the crossbows during the attack run?

Also, how many times this season will a line from the glory days of the show be quoted?  Most of the best lines in this season are callbacks to lines in previous seasons.

Didn't help ignoring the cannon. They still lost. Don't look now, but Bos doesn't look like world beaters. Rask looks...not great.

Rask has a 92.7% save percentage in the series.  Boston's problem is that they aren't getting any points from their top line, just like TB.

Thought the episode was just ok. Certainly not Helms Deep despite some of the pre-show buildup.

    - Overall I think this battle was not as good at Blackwater or Hardhomme.

I thought it was good but agree that it was a step below Blackwater and particularly Hard Home.  There were some very solid moments and visuals but the actual battle scenes lacked something.  I agree with someone up thread who was disappointed there wasn't a significant fight scene between the walkers and the badass swordsmen of the living.  The walkers were completely wasted in their last appearance.  Arya killing the Night King was clearly a pivotal moment in the series but it didn't hit me like the Night King raising the dead at Hard Home or even Snow killing a White Walker at Hard Home or the fleet explosion at Blackwater.

We have seen the zombie battles a few times now and the absence of the death of an important member of the living took the shine off for me.

NK's death reminded me a bit too much of Snoke's demise.

  6. Shocking that none of Podrick, Tormund, Grey Worm, Varys, Davos, Sam, Gilly, Missandei or Gendry died.  They all could have died and taken little away from the story going forward.  Brienne and The Hound are also secondary characters, but they have obvious arcs left to complete and their deaths would have been surprising.

The main characters at Winterfell were Tyrion, Jaime, Dany, Jon, Sansa, Arya and Bran (Starks, Lannisters and Targs) and they all survived.  Typical for the post-Martin era of the show though.

I'm not sure why I'm making predictions for round two and maybe on when I went 1-7 in first round predictions.  It is wide open and the only team I really don't see a plausible possibility to win it all is Columbus.  Okay, you finally won a playoff series.  Call me when you win a playoff series where you have to win a game seven on the road or win back to back in games 6 and 7.  Until then you don't have any Stanley Cup playoff experience.

No one has significant playoff experience other than Boston and San Jose.

Boston is the clear favorite in the East.  The West is wide open.
