  1. Y'all ever read "if you give a mouse a cookie"? Well.... It me. Contractor came over to price it out and managed to convince us to go big. Went from simply swapping a chandelier to installing 5 LED "faux can" lights and painting the entire ceiling white, instead. Gives us a lot more options with the room - - no longer locked in to it being a dining room based on a light fixture, which is nice since we spend so damn much more time at home nowadays
  2. Executive.... Senior..... Associate? [emoji848]
  3. That pic is grainy. It's this stuff
  4. Am I wasting my time with this stuff? I'm reading the recs in this thread but I'm a little too preoccupied by toddlers to research the purchase tbh
  5. So premergent goes down this weekend.... What's the next thing I have to add to my list? Am I waiting a few weeks and doing grass seed like my neighbor suggests.... or is that wrong? Seems odd to lay down a growth stopper and follow soon after with a growth starter.... What says my friends here on the internet?
  6. Holy. Shit! Is that from lightning? Glad your house wasn't impacted
  7. Is this shit not going to solve my army worm problem??
  8. Y'alls shorts are too long let the pipes breathe
  9. Haven't priced it. The rental for scissor lift is around ~$200, scaffolding is about half that. Assume paying someone would cost more than either of those, but then I don't break a sweat or my neck in a fall. However, cheapest option I can think of would be to cut the existing light fixture off at the bottom and splice in the new one. Just trying to figure out if that's feasible before hiring someone. I'm not opposed to hiring someone btw. Just wondering if anyone from surly has done something similar and has dos/donts
  10. Looking to replace a dated chandelier hung from an 18-foot ceiling. Don't own a ladder tall enough to get to the electrical box, and not dying to rent scaffolding. I may bite the bullet and just pay a professional, but it's just a damn light fixture, so I'd really prefer to DIY. Assuming I'm comfortable using the existing chain with a new fixture, and the wattage/voltage of the new fixture are same as the old... Then couldn't I just cut the cord at the base of the existing fixture, splice the wire from the new fixture, and skip ladder/scaffolding/professional altogether? What am I missing?

  13. Is DJM being load managed all season? If it has been written about already somewhere, then I missed it.

  15. Can you even imagine leaving $80 million on the table?
  16. I happen to think LaMarcus' game is poised to age gracefully. Nothing about his success has ever been based on speed or explosiveness. Quite the opposite, really. Never in a hurry to get off silky smooth jumpers from his spots.
  17. We agree. I remember more stupid losses than fortune wins during the regular season. Maybe that's just how the human brain works, but this team dropped games to the Knicks and Bulls for crying out loud! They lost in Denver because their 2 leading scorers had off nights. We want to shit on them in the aftermath, but it's not too dissimilar from what happened to the Rockets last season IMO. They happened to go cold on the worst possible moment. They clawed all the way back but couldn't quite pull it off. It happens. PATFO is not moving LMA or DeRozan unless they force his hand. I have said before on this site that I believe Patty has reached Big 3 status within the organization. I stand by that. He's not going anywhere. Idiots will think I'm comparing his on-court ability to the B3. I'm not. There is some "bigger than basketball" stuff in play here. He is the embodiment of the team culture that will be Pop's legacy. For literally decades, the Spurs have feasted on winning the games they are supposed to win. Roster continuity is one of the keys to unlocking that. Flip a handful of those games this season, and they probably have home court in round 1. I can see Dejounte producing 3-4 easy buckets per game off of transition opportunities and drive/kick. I really think this team bounces back in a big way.
  18. When Dejounte went down, it was a real kick in the dick. His absence has somehow become underrated because Pop is a fucking warlock. How many wins is DJM good for next season? 2? 5? That would put them at 50 wins and would've had them competing for a top-4 seed this season. Everyone just needs to calm TF down. They didn't get it done last night but they also were a wild supernova 4th quarter by Jamal Murray away from a sweep. So ya know shit happens.
  19. While it's true that this side of the bracket was less impressive, they still had an outside shot to make the West finals. Which is incredible IMO. There was not a ton of separation between Denver and SA. And they would have been an underdog against Portland, but crazier shit has happened. Haven't read every post but I don't think we see substantial changes. Add Dejounte, and subtract Durant from Golden State, I really think we'll see them in contention again next season.
