  1. Re: Roy Williams physicality:
  2. The reason I fixate on the type of O each player operated in is because if Roy got to play in the WR friendly spread with Colt at QB then we wouldn't even be having this debate. I'm not sure how you came to your conclusions regarding route running/physicality/blocking but I strongly disagree.
  3. WR production is very dependent on scheme and QB. Roy didn't get to play in the WR friendly O that Shipley/Quan did and still put up better numbers than them over his career. I guess you could argue that since Shipley and Quan showed up in big games they are "superior football players", but I'd argue that had more to do with QB play and scheme.
  4. The entire team disappeared against OU in those games because our coaching staff didn't have them ready to play. I'm not sure how you can compare Roy to Shipley/Quan who got to play in a spread O with Colt against defenses that hadn't adjusted to that style yet. They were all phenomenal players at Texas, but Roy is easily the most talented WR we've had since I've been following Texas football.
  5. Jordan Shipley got to play his entire Texas career with the most accurate Texas QB of all time in Colt out of the slot in a spread O that created huge mismatches for him. Roy played on the outside with Simms and Chance Mock/Freshman VY while GDGD was still running his shitty pro style O. If Roy had been on one of those VY teams running the ZR spread he would have put up ridiculous numbers.

  9. If the staff view Hutson and Robertson as IOL then it seems like they would be pitching Greene on OT.

  12. The panic is because we whiffed on our OT targets, we need OTs.
  13. I had no idea we had such powerful alphas gracing us with their presence on the recruiting thread. I think @closetojumping, @BurntOrange&White, and @Newy25 should let Brandon Harris know in person exactly how much of a "beta" you think he is, I would love to see how that works out for y'all.
  14. Politics? No, I just think the alpha/beta thing is something that idiots typically focus on. What you are describing with Sark sounds more like a difference in style than whether he is "alpha" or not. Harris isn't ready for the job he was given, doesn't make him "beta".
