  1. So Tulane/UNT winner is definitely in. JMU would need Duke to upset UVA (and beat Troy of course).
  2. That’s literally my point. The conversation is that bluebloods will stop scheduling other bluebloods. I disagree because each side expects to win. Also I don’t hate UT, I’ve been on surly/shaggy for more than a decade because this place is cool af. You’re my second favorite team every 2nd Saturday in October.
  3. My guess is that Ryan Day expects to win that game, as does (should) Sark and Co.
  4. Another day, another example of rampant hypocrisy.
  5. Newsome needs to record one of these dick sucking sessions. Not that it would change anything because the voters in this country are beyond any semblance of salvation but because it would make me lol.
  6. Wow $38M to get rid of Stoops who did about as good as should be expected at UK? Although I assume that and Kelly's can go down if they get another job ala Franklin. I bet Stoops will get picked up even if it's at G5 level. BTW, what ever happened to Mike Stoops? Did he officially give up? Choke on a dick while gobbling them up? Feel like he completely disappeared.
  7. So we're murdering Venezualans based solely on "suspicion" of drug traffiking, while pardoning a major drug traffiker who was convicted by an American jury, and still, right wing voters don't give a shit, or think it's less important than the story about the trans swimmer from a million years ago. Fuck this country.
  8. Isn't it more their sweetheart TV deal with NBC? They'd make far less in the ACC with its shitty contract. They've spurned the BIG enough that they may have given up and have already expanded to 18, but I suppose they'd still go to 19 if ND agreed. It's the only move that would remotely make sense. They aren't a cultural fit for SEC, and the Big XII while better than ACC doesn't pay enough (in addition to similarly being a bad cultural fit). I took a look and their next years' schedule looks similarly shitty. Better in 2027, could be salty in 2028.
  9. That's what I'm saying, no reason they can't play a full ACC schedule while still play Navy every year non-con along with another of their neighbors/historical rivals like UM, MSU, and Stanford.
  10. With the USC series over isn't Navy the only traditional annual game they still play?
  11. They aren't cancelling any major matchups. Isn't this more about going to 9 game conference schedule?
  12. In both situations, I have a problem with the assumptions. That's not how sports work anywhere else. The NFL doesn't kick a team out of the playoffs if a key player gets hurt in Week 17. Its part of the broader conversation of the complete clusterfuck that is CFB.
  13. Again, why would the LSU's of the world give a shit about harm to the Ole Miss level programs? Why would they agree to hamstring their own coaching searches for the benefit of the poachee programs?
  14. Alcohol, tobacco, and too much meat make sense, but hot drinks? That's stupid af. Even back in the day there was plenty of teas without caffiene, and ancient teas often had positive medicinal properties (real and imagined). Such arbitrary nonsense, like ancient writings on pork, shrimp, and wearing clothes of mixed materials. MARTIN: Bowman says it goes back to Mormon Prophet Joseph Smith, who said he received a revelation from God forbidding Mormons to consume hot drinks, alcohol, tobacco or too much meat. Over the years, the meaning of hot drinks has come to mean tea and coffee.
  15. I've seen those discussions, but who would enforce this new calendar? The NCAA is an empty shell these days. It would require a new agreement of all programs to be bound by the new calendar and the more power schools aren't going to give up their advantage of poaching from other schools as early as possible for the benefit of the poachee programs.
  16. You're not impressed with their super secret sauce of ketchup+mayo+pepper?
  17. So it was a complete setup. The fucking governor has expressed "concern" over this bullshit. I'm sick and tired of people weaponizing religion. Fuck them all. Sky Daddy isn't real!
  18. Yeah, some are better than others, and some are way better than others, but to assume that the remaining staff is completely incapable of running an offense to the extent they'd leave a one loss team out in favor of a 3 loss team (or even two loss team if we're disregarding tOSU) is just wrong IMO. I maintain that UT's chance is in comparison to ND and OU.
  19. Leaving Ole Miss out because of the coaching change would be far more controversial than UT being left out. I didn't agree with undefeated FSU being left out because of a QB injury but at least that is the most important position on the field and it can be reasonably expected to affect their ability to play well and win (although Tua and Gilbert might disagree). I often think people have too magical a view of playcalling, as if it's some magic ability that only a handful of people can do. The staff and players still knows the playbook. I'm not willing to say with any level of certainty that they can't run an offense anymore. The players earned their way into the playoff.
  20. I'm rooting for Duke so that two G5 champs make it which is the definition of chaos lol. Match one with aggy and they might even win. Alternatively, as much as I don't like Tech, I'd root like hell for them to blow out aggy if they got matched.
  21. And if aggy had lost to ND and played even one of the other teams in the top half of the SEC standings they'd be at 3 losses and nobody would care that they played ND, they'd be out. The fact that UT is even still in the discussion with a legitimate outside shot is because of the helmet logo and that's fair. I think the last spot should come down to OU, ND, and UT.
  22. I really don't see schools refusing to schedule tough OOC if Texas is left out this year. You're not being "punished" for playing that game but it is considered that you lost that game. If you had won that game you'd be the top of the 2 loss teams and might even have been able to withstand a third loss to MSU or UK and still make the field. That's the advantage of scheduling those games, if you win, all the "tiebreakers" go your way, and in other years, I think it's going to be pretty rare that the OOC loss we're talking about for a bubble team happens to be the undefeated No. 1 team in the country, even if its tOSU, UM, or ND. To me the bigger outrage that should be the subject of conversation is how, in the world of bloated super conferences, a team like aggy manages to play only one team in conference that finished in the top half of the standings. Like, the odds of that happening would seem low, but it happened in the second year of the expansion to 16 teams. I guess the counter is that it cost them a spot in the CCG since their in conference SOS was the tiebreaker they lost in the 4 way tie, but still, if they had even two more games against the top half of the league, they wouldn't even be in the CFP conversation. The roller coaster would have dropped in October per annual turdition.
  23. I’m betting that some surly sleuths can locate these Instahoes. Get to work fellas!
  24. Am I the only one wondering if “threat” is kind of a stretch here? Sounds like discussing a key fact in negotiations. The staff was going with him either way, the topic was the timing. If the school agreed, they’d all stay for the playoff run, if not they’d be gone right away. I get this guy is a douche but I think the villain caricature is overplayed for drama and clicks.
