  1. Just saw that Lashlee played at Arky, but I just don't see how that situation is better than SMU right now. Bigger stadium and crowds seems to be the sole advantage. SMU should be able to pay better and they've already shown support for NIL budgets. Arky would need way more commitment of funds for Arky to compete in the SEC. Lashlee has a pretty good situation it seems in the ACC.
  2. The flag on a sword is just fucking stupid. Who flies a flag on their sword? It's just too busy for a logo too.
  3. I never saw it if was confirmed, but it went around that Spencer Sanders wanted to return when he wasn't getting the attention he thought he would in the portal and Mike refused. I get the sentiment, but that's just not how it works anymore. I said it before, as I fan I can complain about missing the old days, but we need a coach who embraces this stuff, is fine if players test the waters, and who will either welcome them back if they want to return, or genuinely wish them well if they leave. The players have way more power these days and as much as I hate the ramifications for mid-tier programs like OSU, I can't really find a problem with the players who are the ones putting their bodies and brains on the line for the product having more power.
  4. AD Weiberg made clear we have the financial support to compete and I believe him. Mike had pissed off donors over many years, in part by refusing to meet with them (sorry coach but ass kissing for money is part of the job) and was just disagreeable to a lot of other people including regents and even his own coaching staff. Nobody will say it out loud but the impresssion I get is that we have donors willing to support NIL but not for Mike who only ever bitched about the new system. Saying that complaining fans were poor and stupid last year was probably the last straw (well second to last, being completely uncompetetive and losing to Tulsa was obviously the last straw). We'll see what financial support is available with the new coach. I don't see us being uniquely poorer in this new landscape than our Big 12 peers (Tech being the exception with Campbell). Like I said, we'll see.
  5. Republican voters will never ever ever blame King Orange or their Congress. It’s always the democrats fault. His instincts are spot on as always. We’re a stupid country who overwhelmingly elects shitheads. I say shut it the fuck down.
  6. I caught Elora in the makeup video, missed Willie Jack at the beginning.
  7. Yup here’s what that matchup looks like today. Dark blue almost black, turd brown pants, and overly complicated stupid looking logos. Fucking 1990s.
  8. Owner of my local brewery had this on today, haha!
  9. Gundy had been butting heads with insiders for years. It was somewhat public that he and Mike Holder did not get along and that he was not friendly with Boone Pickens in his later years. Rumors have swirled for years that he had lost the trust of some of the regents and some of the donors. After last season there was a regents meeting where Weiburg and then President Shrum clearly took up for him and left the meeting looking despondent despite saving his job. More rumors came out that he was not getting along with even his own coaching staff. The last two abortions of games were clearly the last straw with the remaining regents and donors. Basically, it sounds like he's been sort of an ass behind closed doors for years and winning is what kept his job. The results the last two years have not been bad, they've been attrocious, completely noncompetitive. It was time to move forward with there no longer being a rift of Gundy supporters and detractors. Even those who still like him know it's time for a change. Hopefully we can start anew this offseason with everyone on the same page including the donors.
  10. The $15M buyout is less than half of some programs’ annual roster payroll. It’s a multi billion dollar industry. But remember the people actually creating the product aren’t employees, they are
  11. Any takers?
  12. His 170 wins is 108 more than any prior coach. Multiple top ten finishes and BCS/NY6 Bowl games. The program was a club sport prior to his tenure. He’ll be honored eventually, at least the ring of honor. He’ll also remain my avatar, a high honor indeed.
  13. Sounds cool and all but this is a temporary victory until Rubberstamp Roberts and his court gets the appeal. I’m good with the strategy though but it’s not hoping to win in court but funding yourself hoping things go back to normal in 2028. Yeah still a longshot but more hope than the certainty that SCOTUS will allow this administration to do anything it wants.
  14. Wait, there's an ICE facility off the highway between Schlotzky's and FedEx Office?
  15. And I’ll reiterate that it doesn’t matter as long as unqualified dipshits are coaching and the defense folds like a cheap suit at every pivotal moment. Also that half that list is dumb af. I mean I assume you copied and pasted the list and forgot to delete JJ McCarthy, lol.
  16. I guess I missed something. What did aggy and I guess Clemson “question” about the system?
  17. Zero chance ABC does anything to exacerbate the situation. They’re just praying for this one to pass.
  18. First two episodes were great. The background setting was mostly the square mile around me. I can’t be objective though. Sterling Harjo’s humor is really close to mine and I’m a huge fan. Hawke is excellent in the role.
  19. Cool story but no thanks on the coach. Sounds like Gundy who also said he finally “embraced” it and clearly did not and was still bitching at the end. I don’t trust anyone at this point who has complained about the new system at any time. I want someone who fully bought in to the portal and NIL from the beginning and will use it correctly at a place like OSU. Expect some players will get poached and genuinely wish them well publicly and privately. Have a plan to find a portal replacement. I’m starting to see a dichotomy of old timers (and old souls) who will never adjust and young guys who are all in and embrace the new system. I want one of those young guys. All assuming the OSU administration has the donor money lined up by the seasons end of course.
  20. I’m pretty sure Weiberg had to do it to now to keep the BMDs and therefore his job. Rumor is if he couldn’t pull it out Mike Holder was gonna be called to get it done and keep them happy. His contract expired this summer and was renewed today.
  21. So….. the Harvard article all the dipshits are citing says they have found some correlation and are continuing to research possible causation. Also that the correlation only exists for moms that take Tylenol for four straight weeks (WTF?). Oh and the kicker is that they still recommend using acetaminophen when needed because fever is far more dangerous to the fetus. So they took this and ran with ”We solved autism, don’t take Tylenol ever! It’s bad!” This. Fucking. Timeline. https://hsph.harvard.edu/news/using-acetaminophen-during-pregnancy-may-increase-childrens-autism-and-adhd-risk/
  22. AD Chad Weiberg said at the press conference that they did not discuss him staying on for the year but I don't believe him and think he just want's to avoid that line of thinking since Gundy turned it down.
