  1. I haven't seen any of that here, the nuance is between whether it's a death penalty, life wo parole, or possibility of parole, and the possibility of self defense although I haven't seen any legitimate source reporting facts that would support that possibility. That sort of nuance isn't interesting to him, it's just murder and anyone who considers surrounding circumumstances for any reason is just being a woke librul "free karmelo" agitator.
  2. Agree they have to make a run this year, in fact i think they need to make the finals and probably win it all for this regular season to have meaning.
  3. "Blanket retaliatory tarriffs" is our policy as of a few months ago. I think it's absurd to expect the US to be the only country allowed to retaliate. And I agree with Brisket, I don't see Xi as erratic or stupid, they've consistently stocked the shelves of Dollar General and Walmart with cheap shit for decades. They are asshole and I've been in favor of stronger policy against them for years. But imagine if Joe Biden got "tough on China" and shit cardboard furniture at Target went up 10%, Kamala would have lost by a landslide. So I don't blame the lack of policy, especially from the democrats, who the majority of American voters think are responsible for every difficulty in their daily lives.
  4. That’s the voters’ fault. If the majority of American voters are too stupid to give a shit about objective facts we deserve where that leads us.
  5. I don’t disagree that past administrations (or more accurately Congresses) should have been much stronger against China through tariffs and otherwise. But again, that’s not what this is about, and I can guarantee you that Xi has actual competent people around him while dotard does not and is just being performative. Let’s suppose they were open to negotiation on legitimate topics, why would they have any trust if an agreement was reached? We’ve already shown that we just go back and forth on this shit, see Canada and Mexico.
  6. Well yeah, targeted tariffs against China due to unfair competition through human rights abuses and other problematic things is legitimate economic policy discussion (ie limited forms of protectionism). That’s what tariffs have been for about the last century. That’s not what this is about, at all, and they shouldn’t give a fucking inch until some adults are at the table.
  7. They didn’t start this, the pain is going to happen either way, why capitulate? The optics of bowing down to a US president who is off the fucking rails and who has caused his country to be an international pariah doesn’t seem worth the costs which again are going to happen either way. It might also gain them some favor with the new world order where the US is on the wrong side of civilized societies.
  8. Not really because they suppress everything true or false, but I’ll agree that their government propaganda likely includes more objective facts on average than what Fox News et al have spoon fed the uneducated idiots of this country for the last few decades.
  9. How do you think China should play it? Capitulate to a moron? They can withstand months of a trade war and they have a lot to gain if the US falls in its superpower status. I hope they push back, retaliate, and prove what a stupid weak beta ass loser dotard truly is.
  10. I hope they stick to their guns and think that if they win it’ll get Americans to turn on Trump. I mean they’d be wrong and he’ll stay in power forever because the voting majority are full blown shitheads but at least the country will suffer which we deserve because fuck us.
  11. I mean they’ve accomplished something this year, whether they can win it all remains to be seen. Luka owned them and he’s gone. AD ain’t doing shit to them if there was somehow a playoff matchup, especially from the bench. Those days are over, advantage OKC. I’d take OKC over the Lakers right now too but would be interesting to see if Luka still dominates them from LA.
  12. Another question, since every country is going to suffer anyway, could they just bite the bullet and stop exports to the US entirely? Might be fun for dotard and his cult to learn how much we rely on imports when the shelves are emptier than during Covid.
  13. Maybe a dumb question because it’s part of international relations and economics I’ve never understood, but if China really holds a big chunk of our national debt, could they call it just to fuck with dotard? Can they not so long Congress appropriates interest payments? If we did default or if they called it how could China ever force payment? Sheriff sale Florida?
  14. Since this thread started out full cloak room, see Rittenhouse, et al, but we know why it wouldn’t apply here.
  15. How long would the half share last? If the offer was permanant half share or like a decade I'd reject that too. I sort of lol'd at this line: "I don't see a Mountain West merger happening since the Pac-12's whole goal the last several months has been to separate from the lower-end Mountain West schools." Wasn't the original MWC formed by a few members of the WAC to separate themselves as more valueable than the rest and ended up merging with most of the left behind's anways a few years later?
  16. I'm born 1982 and haven't been to a sit down national chain restaurant in years. I think the last one was Chuys and I left depressed. I really cannot agree with your Gen Z criticism. They didn't create these stupid shitty chain restaurants, they rose to prominence during the heyday of the Boomers. What's more group think than an entire generation buying identical looking tract houses in identical looking suburbs and all deciding that they wanted to eat at restaurants that all look and taste the same?
  17. It insists upon itself. I liked Astroid City.
  18. I have some American Solera bottle aged stouts from their early days in 2016 and 2017. At this point I've been afraid to drink them for fear of creating a magma flow from my colon. If you survived this relatively free from harm I'd like to know and it might encourage me to go ahead and drink them.
  19. My 7 year old wants to see it so I'll take him. Sounds like there is some stuff that a grownup that knows nothing about the game can find some entertainment in so that's promising.
  20. This thread never had a chance with the bs opening post.
  21. I saw the headlines making the rounds and figured it was some overstated bs. Revitalizing a species from 12,000 years ago seems like it would be the biggest human achievement of all time by a lot. Creating enough explosion to propel a metal tube to the moon? Impressive but makes sense. Taking DNA from a fossil and recreating an entire species? That's Jurassic Park level sci-fi. Then I saw CNN post it and thought, seriously? Took a closer look, then reevaluated the CNN headline, and well, okay, I guess it's something? Nothing close to the other headlines. “There’s no secret that across the genome, this is 99.9% gray wolf. There is going to be an argument in the scientific community regarding how many genes need to be changed to make a dire wolf, but this is really a philosophical question,” Dalén said." https://www.cnn.com/2025/04/07/science/dire-wolf-de-extinction-cloning-colossal/index.html
  22. I like them too but like all insurance commercials its too damn much. Meanwhile they're raising rates and denying claims saying that their indemnity costs are too high. Those nonstop commercials have to be expensive as hell.
  23. Where is all this info coming from? It was my understanding that there was “zero national outrage.”
  24. Tough time to be an importer exporter.
