  1. Still waiting on better memes but I'm getting some chuckles.
  2. Pope Sbarro I
  3. Pretty much, the same bs as "hate the sin, love the sinner." He may have been softer than prior popes in his approach but nothing drastic has changed much to the underlying doctrines. I don't infer that his appointments will want to keep the church on even that vaguely progressive track. I truly believe the world trend will continue and the next pope will be a hardliner who will confirm strict construction of traditional catholic doctrine and will align, directly or indirectly, with the new wave of authoritarians, at least in prodominantly christian countries. The fact that the US Conference of Bishops is supporting Oklahoma's attempt to create a public catholic charter school using public funds is disgusting to me, truly revolting. https://apnews.com/article/vatican-lgbtq-pope-bfa5b71fa79055626e362936e739d1d8 https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/262771/us-bishops-back-oklahoma-catholic-charter-school-at-supreme-court
  4. It’ll be the other way around. The world is already moving towards fascist theocracy. Francis was the Catholic Church’s Obama, way too nice and created a lot of anger. The next pope will be a super conservative prick who will embrace Trump and help install right wing christofacist theocracy. Start with the US and the western world will follow. Yay future!
  5. I can see players not signing after seeing how they treated not only Luka but Klay who signed specifically to compete for a title with Luka after last year’s run. This franchise is done.
  6. Every time I’ve tuned into a Thunder game this year they’ve been up 15 or more. I know Memphis isn’t that good but this is crazy impressive to start the playoffs.
  7. No butt stuff?
  8. WHy arE libEralS sO DEVisIVE
  9. Not fat but I’ve been developing some manboobs and it’s pissing me off. My seven year old mentioned it when I was wearing an older t shirt and hit kinda hard because I knew about it and it made clear that others see it too. I’ll never have the time for full fitness routine but I’m using it as motivation to find some time to exercise and eat more salads.
  10. The city had started rethinking things a few years earlier when they lost a United Airlines maintenance facility to Indianapolis. They did a thorough evaluation and one of the things that kept coming up was that their downtown had one decent hotel among other deficiencies. This accelarated after the bombing but the groundwork had already been laid. I'll say that from my last visit to downtown OKC last year the canal and such are still photogenic but the area has been mismanaged, or some other factors are at play, because Bricktown doesn't feel organic anymore, it feels like a struggling shopping mall. The new convention center will probably help as will the new arena.
  11. The museum is well done. I was there about two years ago. Some of the interactive portions from the time period discuss conspiracies, extremism, and the rise of domestic terrorism. It was almost as though they were speaking about the present day. It's run by the National Parks Department and wouldn't be surprised if all of that has been removed by now.
  12. It’s not tinfoil hat stuff, owners tanking their franchises to support a move has a long history in pro sports. If that’s not the reason, it’s something else to curry favor with the league. There is zero chance it was Nico didn’t like Luka and therefore made the worst trade in pro sports history. If he was unloading he would have gotten something in return. Nobody is incompetent enough to believe the return here was anywhere close to value.
  13. You're the one who went CR, dipshit. I called her a vile cunt, because she's a vile cunt, specifically for allowing this bullshit trade. You're the one who came in "akshually just nico" and went full CR. As for the topic at hand, I'll bet you $100 right now that Nico is not fired this offseason, because I believe she instructed him to do it or at least was happy to let him go to LA.
  14. Hey Bill, nobody fucking cares that he might be cordial behind closed doors, but keep complaining about “the liberals.” Meanwhile …
  15. Huh, last I saw on this thread was a rally/protest to address “the scourge of black violence against white Americans.”
  16. There's a deadline to enter the portal, but is there a deadline to sign elsewhere? I assume not, so there will be 1000+ players looking for a roster spot between now and August? Just pure fucking insanity.
  17. BTW, isn't "mental health" concern just woke virtue signaling these days? His brain chemistry should just lift itself up by its bootstraps and fix itself through personal responsibility.
  18. This. "I don't like Trump, but it's your fault that your candidates refuse to shit on gays and trans and Mexicans, things that don't affect my life but that make me feel icky, so it's your fault."
  19. I’m fully on the Fuck AI art train. So fucking lame.
  20. So Ultron from the Marvel movies? Cool, if it gains sentience and decides that eliminating humanity is a net positive, I’m not sure there too much valid critique of that logic.
  21. Maybe do like soccer, if the refs don’t believe you, just let the play go on with his ass flopping around like he just got shot. Of course the real answer is have some fucking integrity and don’t fake injuries but we know that won’t work.
  22. I think it’s most likely this team would take a couple from OKC, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this was the year OKC swept Dallas if they were to meet. I can’t muster any emotion for OKC but I’ll be supporting them this post season. Will probably join some watch parties I’ve been invited to in the past by rabbid OKC fan friends and coworkers.
  23. Should be a mason jar.
  24. I always assumed most of you hate ou way more than aggy as a football program, but hate aggy fans far more than ou fans because of aggy’s unique brand of weirdness and obsession with literally anything longhorn. I work and interact with lots of ou fans and most are normal people in day to day life (with some egregious exceptions I won’t go into here). The aggys I met while in law school and while living in Dallas were something else, just bizarre personalities from first encounter.
  25. If it’s to slow down a fast pace no huddle drive couldn’t the player just slowly limp off the field to slow it down without having the trainers go on the field? This proposal is one of the dumbest ways to address the issue. Will trainers hesitate to address legitimate injuries or look to the coach first for guidance? Sitting out the rest of the drive, and I’d add the next drive, makes far more sense and has player safety legitimacy. This sport is just in love with choosing bad options.
