  1. I mean, he'd be a better backup than fucking Rush or Lance.
  2. Don't forget Demarco's fumble in 2014, his first in 10 games, just waited for the right time during a fucking playoff game.
  3. SMU just finished a fancy end zone project and made improvements and looks nice as hell. Capacity is still relatively small but the money is in TV these days anyway.
  4. Aren't they roughly equivalent at this point? SMU's facilities are really good these days.
  5. JFC, when Markwayne Mullin is your party's peak of dignity and morality by being one of the only ones willing to draw the line at appointing a pedophile, my goodness, this country is truly fucked.
  6. I always thought that Clap Clap Garrett coached the legs out of Dak because he’s a product of ancient times and basically killed any chance at Dak being in the elite class. I’m just wholly convinced the problems all along have been the coaches which of course ends up back at Jerry fucking jones. I'm fully convinced that had Garrett gotten a hold of Patrick Mahomes he would have made sure he never ran and never threw sidearm and would have relegated him to a pocket duck which again is the product of ancient times. I feel that had Dak been given the right coaching he wouldn't have had the higher end of Mahomes' natural ability but his career would have been on a much, much more positive trajectory.
  7. I agree with you in concept, but the problem with this system is who is 8th or 9th is completely subjective and subject to bias. It's not gonna get any better anytime soon. The fact that the financial juggernaut of the Big 10 can include a team with 106 SOS is astounding to me, especially with Indiana making $80M, same as Michigan, and double Colorado, BYU, etc., even FSU and Miami. They could play complete nobodies OOC and the conference making that much money alone should get them a better SOS. Does that include Ohio State or will the SOS go way up after that game?
  8. What a unique and original idea. At least Lankford, while a complete partisan hack, has not fully determined to fluff the mushroom. https://www.lankford.senate.gov/about/fumbles/
  9. And now this, is Prime seriously considering sticking around for a while, or lying about it? Maybe he's being honest that it'll just be a year or so which I guess doesn't really matter anymore since he can just transfer wherever after Prime leaves. I bet this kid ends up playing for at least 3 schools. One or two years with Prime, then to a blueblood, then to another blueblood (assuming he's actually good).
  10. Holy shit, I didn't watch this game, but this is nuts. QB punts and it hits the defender in the helmet who had no idea it was a punt. BYU safety saw it and flubbed the recovery. The first part is just crazy to me.
  11. I appreciate the symbolism but aesthetically they are just too busy, too much going on, the sleeves especially, and I don't like the numbers. The helmet is pretty darn cool, Mike Leach would be drooling if he got to see them.
  12. The product is great. Visibility will be the struggle because the logos on the helmets aren't the ones that traditionally draw the biggest ratings. The new payouts don't need to match or even come close to helmet school ratings but they need to remain solid through good games and decent time slots. It seems to be working out pretty well so far with the first year being absolutely unpredictable so far with some really good games.
  13. Would it be the "oopsie poopsie" defense? "She entered the wrong apartment and started blasting at shadows killing a man, but c'mon, it was just a big mistake. Haven't you all made mistakes? This morning I accidentally put shaving cream in my hair instead of mousse. Same thing here. She accidentally shot bullets at shadows by mistake. We're all human, right?"
  14. I remember that even the notnothing.net algorithm was wrong in determining second place scenarios. It's going to be a complete clusterfuck at some point.
  15. I'm really looking forward to the first true tiebreaker fiasco with the new divisionless megaconference setup. I think I saw that both the Big XII and SEC have a "conference strength of schedule" tiebreaker somewhere along the line. Seems like some serious bullshit since a program has no control over the schedule and how good those teams end up. At the beginning of the year everyone thought the strongest Big XII schedules would be those with OSU, Utah, UA, and/or KU on them, and the weakest would include ASU and CU, yet here we are, lol.
  16. Which should be unnecessary anyway because the universe is essentially infinite with infinite resources.
  17. I’m sure it’s just me but Bucky Barnes is the most boring character ever. When he showed up in Black Panther I literally had no recollection of who he was. I’m in on this for Yelena alone.
  18. I watch these things in binges and forget a lot of the details but still enjoy them. In the last month or so I caught up on the movies from Thor Love and Thunder through GOTG3, and the shows Agatha All Along and Loki Season 2. I do still enjoy them and I decided to catch up because Deadpool and Wolverine is on Disney+. Looking forward to it soon. The new shows look mostly interesting. Love and Thunder was my favorite, by far, I hope they appear somewhere in the new phase. I can’t imagine being young and wanting to start from the beginning. It’s why I’ll never watch Game of Thrones. I never started and it’s too much of a time commitment at this point.
  19. And yet you’re lurking their message boards in pursuit of a narrative. The “big bad Texas” mystique from all directions is because UT is “the Joneses,” Yankees, Lakers, Cowboys, the team everyone loves to hate. The specific complaints are just filling between the lines. I’d just embrace it already. Anyway, it was before my time, but I always thought aggy was their primary beef back then ala Dickerson with each blaming the other for turning them in to the NCAA. My guess is the SWC left behinds like SMU would be madder at UT for killing the conference not NCAA shit. SMU was definitely cheating their asses off, not sure there’s any legitimate belief otherwise.
  20. Yeah I’ll need to see more bad years from OU before pissing on their eternal grave but I’m not sure they can continue to dominate in the new NIL world. The university is a financial disaster and outside a few oil guys the state is poor as fuck. You can’t discount recruiting though when you walk them through the halls with all the trophy’s and heismans so I think they should be able to still recruit well enough. I just hope the Vegetables era lasts as long as possible because he sucks shit. I’m sure OSU would still jump at an SEC invite but I’ve come around and am glad that it’s never gonna come. We have zero chance at competing at that level in recruiting, and even if Boone was still alive and making money and willing to pay, it would be a waste of short term dollars to try and out bid the blue bloods and wannabe bluebooods (Ole Miss, etc) for incoming players. I like our strategy of continuing to find the best three star potential, coaching them up, then paying to retain if necessary, and focusing on transfers from lower divisions instead of competing financially for five star transfers. This year is a crazy and frustrating anomaly, but I’m not concerned that we’ll be a long term cellar dweller in the Big 12. I don’t think anyone will be in that position going forward. UH and maybe Cincy are the only programs that might end up spending the majority of the future in the bottom half of the standings. The rest will fluctuate from year to year and make it interesting, although it’ll also mean that only the CCG winner gets to the playoff most years, which is fine imo.
  21. Ah the mighty ACC, being dominated by . . . SMU.
  22. At the end of Office Space I get that the fire burned up the confession but it was a computer crime, wouldn’t the evidence still exist and the investigation continue? It can’t be that every balance and electronic record of transfers and deposits just ceased to exist. There was real money at issue.
  23. "Quality of loss" has only been utilized one time in the history of CFB, to put Bama in the BCS title game over OKST in 2011. All the computers had OSU ahead based on quality of wins (Big XII was stacked with QB's that year and the round robin was brutal) but Bama lost to LSU in the 9-6 "Game of the Century" while OSU dropped an upset to ISU on a friday night in Ames the same day the very popular women's basketball coach died in a plane crash. The country was just dying for an SEC rematch. Not that the plane crash should matter too much in deteriming playoff standings but at least it's something wheras I have seen nothing whatsoever that excuses ND's loss to a mid MAC school. Yes, I'm still bitter as fuck, and will be til the day I die.
  24. Not football, but I kinda find it humourous that the "city edition" uniform is the only one that refers only to the state and not the city. Also funny to me because a lot of people in Tulsa were originally butthurt that they went with "Oklahoma City" and not "Oklahoma" ala Utah and Minnesota. I was on that boat for a little while thinking they needed support from the whole state to make it work in that small market, but they became really good really fast and OKC sufficiently supports the team. Most Tulsans who don't have other allegiences are mostly now on board. I'm just glad I don't have to pay for a billion dollar arena to replace the other one that is only 25 years old.
