  1. Big 10 tickets are going for $15 right now, maybe because Oregon is so far away (fucking realignment). ACC tickets are going for $50. SEC tickets are close to $200, not unexpected considering UGA is down the road and UT is in its first champ game for the conference. The Big XII game might not officially sellout but it will be filled enough that you won’t see empty seats unless maybe if they show the Jumbotron viewing seats at the upper levels of that stupid fucking stadium.
  2. They were pretty darn good last year and have had some good seasons. That’s the difference, there’s no perennial cellar dwellers in the Big XII anymore. Baylor and even KU have learned how to not be terrible all the time. OKST was in the CCG last year and is 0-7 this year. The preseason predictions were largely backwards of where it ended up. That’s what will make the league interesting going forward. The SEC and BIG pecking order is largely permanent. Indiana is the only major outlier this season.
  3. Some ACC schools didn't want SMU, so it's pretty damn funny that they ran through it and hopefully closes it out this weekend. I'm pretty sure aggy was the only SEC school butthurt about the new adds, UT in particular. I know the BIG was hestant at first about UO and UW but my guess is they're fine considering the money. The Big XII was ecstatic to get the four corners.
  4. I don't know much about ASU's fanbase but you can be damn sure the Cyclone fans will be driving to Dallas in droves. I can't imagine the stadium won't be full. If not technically a sellout it's gonna be close.
  5. Everything I've seen is that UCF fans were happy to see Gus leave and that the parting was mutual. FSU can't be too happy. He might still have it as an OC but it's no home run at this point.
  6. I think a GM model is inevitable for every school because the turnover and money side has doubled the work of the Head Coach who already works 12 to 15 hour days or more. HC has the final say and can interject where appropriate, but there’s only so much time in a day.
  7. Our facilities are way better these days so we're not at that enormous disadvantage as in our past. Pat Jones has said on the radio that when they did oncampus visits with recruits they purposefully avoided the stadium. Everything else is correct, you don't force a guy out one year removed from a CCG appearance becasue of one bad season, the first losing season in 20 years. If they wanted to fire him it shouldn't be about the season but his off the cuff comments that keeps getting him in trouble. He's grumpy about it, as are a bunch of coaches at all levels, but has adapted to NIL and the portal like everyone else. When people go off aobut firing him I always remind them that the University of Texas, the bluest of the blue bloods with all the money in the world, went through a decade of medicrity through three bad coaching hires, why would anyone think we'd hit gold all of a sudden? If he goes the way of Mack Brown we might consider it after a few more bad years, but not this year, that's crazy. If he doesn't replace the coordinators though, I'll be pushed pretty far to the skeptics side, his biggest problem has been stubbornness with his assistant coaches. He made a comment at his last presser that programs that want to win are investing in the coaching staff, makes me wonder if he's pressuring the University for a bigger budget to hire coordiators. He made a dumbass comment last year when he hired Brian Nardo out of DIII as defensive coordinator that we "could afford him." If he's grumpy about anything these days its the same gripe he's been passive aggressivly been harping on for years, the coaching budget.
  8. The AP has ASU at No. 12 and ISU at No. 16. I think the winner will jump Bama to No. 11 and get the 11 seed with Bama getting the 12 seed, assuming SMU wins the ACC CCG and is the only ACC team in the field.
  9. I think SMU is in even with a loss and even over Alabama. They said that teams would not be punished for participating in CCGs so if they are in before the game they should be in afterward regardless of outcome. SMU would be in if the seeding was today. The Big XII runner-up isn't in as of right now so only the champ gets in this year. If they let Bama in over a runner-up SMU who should be viewed as a one loss team vs a three loss Bama the committee will do to CCGs what they said they would not, and even though its the ACC, it would not be good for the system. But I really think SMU wiill win and will be the only ACC team in so Bama will get a spot.
  10. So ND is in, Miami is out, right? Clemson is in with a win and out with a loss. I think SMU should be in even if they lose. If aggy wins tomorrow and loses to UGA does Bama get in or aggy?
  11. Try telling that to a player. If they agree and walk away they're fucking pussies. I have no problem with them pushing back.
  12. Ideally yeah, but they just supposed to stand there and let it happen? I don't blame them at all for pushing back.
  13. Nah, I don't like either of these fanbases, but Ohio State protected their field from another Baker Mayfield incident, and I don't blame them, take the win and celebrate with your fans dipshits.
  14. Or Ohio State for letting him get away with it, they should have beat his ass.
  15. Shit happens. Considering we haven’t had a year like this since 2005 I’m not gonna act like we should be invulnerable to a shitty season. Gundy isn’t getting fired and the suggestion of it from inside and outside the fanbase is ridiculous. If he wants to retire I wouldn’t lose any sleep but he’s not getting fired and regardless of how you feel about him after this season you don’t fire a guy whose solely responsible for our current relevance because of one bad season. He needs new coordinators though and if he’s too stubborn to do it I’ll be pretty pissed and hope for the best knowing he’s not getting fired.

  17. I’ve been there and agree. There’s nothing intimidating about 90,000 homos swaying back and forth and singing showtunes from the late 1800s.
  18. My SIL got a free turkey from work and I'm responsible for cooking. I think I'm going to quarter it and smoke the breast and roast the legs and thighs in the oven. I've seen both the whole breast section smoked bone in and I've seen it taken off the bone for smoking. I'm thinking boneless, I want it to cook as fast as possible without sacrificing flavor. I've also seen boneless cooked without the skin. I've given up getting good smoked skin but I'm thinking of leaving it on for the smoke for moisture and taking it off late in the cook and reseasoning the breast. Lots of butter involved obviously. Wish me luck.
  19. I have an SMU degree in my wall, I’m all for them blowing up however it happens. I think Clemson’s “blue blood” run is over. FSU is a wildcard, not sure if they’ll go the way of Nebraska or find their way back, I think the latter. SMU will be a regular at the top because most of the ACC is dogshit. Which changes my mind on CFP spots. ACC will get two in more often than the Big XII because the bottom half of the ACC are punching bags to inflate records while the bottom half of the Big XII will always be salty making it harder to come out with fewer than two losses at the top.
  20. Our freshman QB was finally given a chance and looks good. Defense still can’t stop a light breeze. Shedeur and Hunter are gonna have a field day and I don’t see how we stop it unfortunately.
  21. The chaos champ is very unlikely. Each upset is possible and at least one is likely to happen but all of them happening in one week is extremely low odds, but who knows, would be fun to see for the lols I guess. And lol at status being “cemented” in one season. The ACC will have plenty of years with 2 or 3 loss champs and one spot. The fact that SMU came off the AAC bench and dominated those fools says way more about the status of the “mighty” ACC.
  22. I agree. If the top Big XII teams were 1 loss it would be different but both conferences are beating each other up and sec gets the edge.
  23. I want to make sure I'm following the conversation. Are you suggesting that only the Big XII teams should avoid FCS opponents to try and improve its perception in the new landscape, or that everyone should stop schduling FCS? The disconnect I keep having is the criticisms of Big XII teams playing FCS when literally every program but Texas does that every year. I get the sense that maybe some are talking specifically about the Big XII to help perception and improve the chance of getting mroe than one team into the CFP. I'm just not sure it would change anything in that regard.
  24. I guess I just fundamentally disagree that adding an 11th P4 opponent every season would make any sort of a difference in perception of the league come CFP time. The helmet schools will always get that benefit of the doubt, as will the second tier SEC schools, without ever being questioned for playing FCS and G6 schools. If anything, playing a tougher noncon schedule just increases the possibility of an extra CFP killing loss since our margin outside of winning the conference title is razor thin. As far as my school goes, we have Oregon home and away the next two seasons, then @Arky, then Bama home and away. I just hope we get shit back on track for at least some of those years, our non-con shouldn't be questioned in the Oregon/Bama years, and Arky always might be decent.
  25. Lol, okay, it's directly responsive to the topic, while acknowleding the differences in the leagues. I get that a bunch of people here think the Big XII is terrible and should just shut down or join the NAIA, but it's just dumb.
