  1. They'd stay home for Newsome or anyone else they haven't heard about. Biden has a 4-year record that is objectively good by most metrics, including the ones the right constantly focuses on. A new comer this late in the game will just make apathetic voters more apathetic. There's still a chance to get a few to the polls in November with trump still talking like a lunatic all the time. That doesn't work for a newcomer that the apathetic folks don't know. That is why I think replacing him hurts way more than it would help. Especially with Joe looking fine again in public appearances.
  2. I think he's referring to corporate logos all over the field. Look good to me too and am glad that many are going back to traditional looks. It's kind of odd to me that the do these big reveals to simply show "hey we look normal again, how about that?!?"
  3. Read the syllabus and parts of Sotomayor's dissent. The most disturbing part seems to be the new evidentiary rule that whatever the President said during an official speech cannot be used to prove criminal intent for non-official acts. Her example is that if the President during an official speech says that his opponent should be taken out at all costs and he later is charged with murdering him, the speech can't be used to prove motive to murder the opponent. So the syllabus makes it sound as though if the district court determines that his Jan 6 actions were not official and were in fact private acts of a political candidate, the case can proceed, which is probably what will happen, but the true protection they seemed to give him was some new strange form of evidentiary immunity, which is crazy. If that's what this really says, yeah, pure political bs. If nothing else, it ensures that if trump is convicted for Jan 6 crimes, another SCOTUS appeal is assured as to whether this new evidentiary rule was properly applied. The fascist justices of course intend that he not be convicted in the first place under these new rules. It's a whole lot of words that weren't necessary other than to protect the president. So even if the new immunity is not as extensive as they sound, Sotomayor is pissed af that they went well beyond the facts that were part of this case, and which seems to be a new tactic of this rogue court. I don't know the solution unless Biden, dems keep the senate, and Alito and Thomas die within the next 4 years.
  4. She's not a "liberal," she's just another disinterested cog.
  5. Because they're not official until August 1. It seems the should have given SMU the spotlight today since they are official, and Cal Stanford the spotlight Aug 1 when they become official.
  6. The ACC posted their big welcome to SMU, Cal, and Stanford this morning, but the PAC schools aren't in until August 1. The Big XII social media this morning just removed OU and Texas. Just seems really weird to me that ACC would jump the gun. If SMU is official as of today, why not just give them the spotlight?
  7. Bull. Fucking. Shit. If that’s what they cared about they’d write the Philly Inquirer article, every single day. The fact that fucking Rex Kramer says he should withdrawal tells you everything. They want him to withdraw because it helps Trump. Period. They don’t even pretend otherwise anymore.
  8. If the court disagrees with an agency’s implementing regulations Congress can amend the underlying statute to match the regulation, but good luck with that, lol.
  9. Trump rambling nonsense and making shit up along the way is an actual sign of dementia. His party still worships him and the media doesn’t say withdraw. Eat shit.
  10. I saw him in Tulsa a while back, told him where I was from, and he signed my book in a way I always remember. Also, this one made me cry, even before he died. Just watched again and it’s dusty af.
  11. I don't know what the swing might have been, but it sure as shit wasn't this, pure bullshit.
  12. This. The majority of Americans are truly stupid and deplorable. No person alive can have a D by their name and win big. Not possible.
  13. More like losing Game 1, probably a better analogy. Especially when the opponent is pure aggy.
  14. They also don’t give a shit about fentanyl because it makes the people getting rich off of it are part of the Oligarchy.
  15. I remembered his name after I wrote that, but the same is true for all the chicken littles on social media today.
  16. Yay, more "centrists and democrats" undermining the candidate to the benefit of a fascist. Even if you feel that way, this isn't something you make public if you actually give a shit about defeating donald trump. You don't see any "centrists" or "republicans" constantly posting about trump's obvious problems. Again, because each side is playing by different rules. It's absolute madness.
  17. So someone who the American people won't vote for because reasons. Sorry, I know where you're coming from, and I promise I'm not just being argumentative with you in particular. In any other version of this simulation I would agree with you in full. But I've just seen too much in the last few years to think there is any hope. Part of it might be that the elected people in Oklahoma are off the fucking deep end as well. I just can't anymore.
  18. He stuttered again at the beginning. Gotta go with the criminal I guess.
  19. No comfort whatsoever, but they are deserving of condescension. In any sane world his support would be a few lunatics. Instead it's half the country and apparently a ton of "centrists" who "don't like his style" but are okay with cancelling elections and implementing christian nationalism because the other guy didn't do well in a debate (and who objectively wasn't any worse than the other old bumbling moron).
  20. Are there written protocols for what to do when a party candidate chooses to withdraw after winning primary elections?
  21. So should they go find a failed business man and celebrity who constantly lies and is a convicted felon who will shit all over people he/she doesn't like? That's what the people want, so I guess we just play the game. Fuck it, I truly think it doesn't even matter anymore.
  22. Bullshit. They have to be perfect. A Jersey Shore participant should be way up in the polls over said criminal. The average American's brain is complete mush.
  23. Goddamn you're smart. How come nobody thought of that? Just call Putin and Zelensky and declare "DIPLOMACY!"
