Got covid last Friday and am on my last dose of Paxlovid today. This new variant was all kinds of fucked up as the symptoms came in waves. First was the extreme body aches early Friday morning (this was the biggest bitch of all. I still haven't had a full night's sleep since last Thursday due to all the tossing/ turning and hot showers), then came the fatigue later Friday, then congestion Saturday, which led to coughing a couple hours later, and finally, sore throat (almost strep- like) Saturday night. 2am Sunday morning comes around and I'm convinced death is near. I work up the strength to drive to urgent care because surely this "little cold" floating around the office shouldn't feel like this, right? Even the doc was all "well, we should test for flu and covid to be safe, but we haven't seen either floating around recently." 2 nasal swabs and 15 minutes later, and boom. Positive.
I'm really hoping this flu season that covid shots won't be as stupid costly as they were last year, and even moreso, hope that insurance will cover it. First time since the vaccines came out that I didn't get a shot (I think I was told north of $450 and insurance wouldn't cover any of it) and it comes back to no lube me.
