  1. Texas 42 CSU 13 WR 3(69)
  2. In on page 1. No over thinking this. Go out and ball. Stay healthy/ no additional injuries. Iron out any wrinkles before UM.
  3. The hardest part of making a prediction is the rankings aspect, and then making picks based on who plays who each round. Yeah, you pick the conference champions and could do a fairly decent job ranking 1-4. They're in a bye for the first round. Got it. Then, there's 5-12. Picking the other 8 best teams you'd think make it in isn't necessarily too difficult, either. But then comes the tricky part. Using @closetojumping's picks for making the playoff, would you take ND over Miami if that's a round 1 matchup? If so, what's the pick if the next round they're playing Utah? Would it change if ND was Vtech? So on and so on. So I'll just predict Texas will face 3 different teams and win the national championship.
  4. It's ok, he'll appreciate the effort.
  5. That's another feature I hate-- not being able to adjust game times or weather. I've literally never played a night game and every 3rd game or so is raining.
  6. That score looks oddly familiar. If only 2008 worked out that way in the end...
  7. Ah that makes sense.
  8. Read my post above yours. You can also take off actions from those of whom you're in 1st for and apply them accordingly.
  9. On the recruiting front, here's a couple things I figured out. First, having the coaching style set to recruiter helps. A lot. You get more than 300 hours more each week than the other styles. Next, pay close attention to the deal breakers and gems on the bottom left corner of a recruit's profile. Reds are unlikely to commit and green is more likely (or better suited for your program.) Maxing out scouting for each recruit is important. It'll help with the motivations, as well as player/ scheme fit. Pay close attention to needs and recommendations. Obviously the try to recruit more players in your pipeline. Also, it helps if all your coaches have different pipelines than where your school is located, giving you an additional pipeline. (Ex. Head coach for Texas-- Louisiana, OC-- south Florida, DC-- socal. Your added pipeline is the whole state of Texas.) If you're like me and used to just play the game in older editions, you can switch up the "actions" each week to customize your pitch. Also, leaving actions on a recruit counts against your hours each week, so you want to adjust accordingly. Finally, focus on "interest" vs the recruit time-line. Certain actions can speed up a commitment if the interest is great. Also, visits are key in this and do not count towards the hours spent on an individual recruit (but still count towards your hours overall.) Hopefully that helps someone.
  10. In my first playoff I faced Kansas to go to the championship game lol
  11. Yeah, were not thin skinned bitches... Delete user ban post
  12. aggy-- "We's the most bestest and richest!: Auburn, Nebraska, Penn State, Wisconsin, Washington, Utah and Michigan State--
  13. I think part of the folklore you speak to came about when he was first hired and said that too many numbers were allocated to the WR room. I think people then just assumed he wanted to keep the numbers low (7-9 players) and have a set of starters, soon to be starters, and rookies/ depth/ insurance.
  14. This has been the most infuriating. Absolutely no clue what I'm doing. And how the hell do you recruit them AND get a visit? Seems like it's one or the other.
  15. There were mistakes... Ironically, none happened while partying. I could plan accordingly and safely if I had a big night ahead of me, but damn if I could blend in during the middle of the day lol. It's been known to happen, and with me on the other end.
  16. I've seen/ been: A cop plant weed on my friend and take him to jail for it. Assaulted/beaten by police for not talking/ratting out people. A cop confiscate my weed and say they're keeping for themselves because it looks amazing. Had over a grand taken while being arrested for possession and not reported. Had over $1400 taken but only $600 reported for civil asset forfeiture. 1 of the first dealers I ever met was introduced by friends (as in a bunch of 14/15 year olds), and later on we found out he was in the HPD. Friend shot in a drive by and taken to jail for disturbing the peace. Got completely fucked up in jail by 2 COs for trying to get one of them to fight me after talking shit about my mom after a visit (17 at the time.) Had 2 COs watch on as I was being jumped by 3 gang members but managing to not completely get my ass kicked. My vehicle be searched without my consent after being detained in the back of a squad car, because the cop said "after calling the judge, they said I can search it." Arrested 7 times in total and not once been read my rights. This one doesn't bother me as much just because cops are fucking shady, and I don't expect them to follow their own rules. More and a hell of a lot more in court, but this isn't meant to be an exhaustive list, or a misery competition. The main point is that none of the above was done by the same cop, and all but 2 of those were in different jurisdictions. I've overgrown a lot in my teenage/early 20s and can recognize and accept my responsibility, but the state of affairs in law enforcement has not changed. In fact, it's gotten worse as technology has evolved, and cops have to be (most of the time, at least) more careful with cameras everywhere. Fuck. The. Police. ACAB.
  17. 5 years in the hill country, per a friend...
