Apropos of nothing, I'm glad terrorists (F&D) don't have their shit together at the moment.  All these large crowds and mass gatherings of cops and such would be a hell of a target for backpack bombs or a truck plowing through a crowd.

Curious what the coronavirus stats look like in a couple weeks.

It’s disgusting to think but the longer and more violent the protests are the further away we get from the real issue of police brutality and the narrative changes. I want to believe this is not a political strategy by Trump but it sure looks like one.

This is going to escalate from local police forces to the military. And if the military comes in hard, what we see now is going to be playground antics compared to the what will come. Trump needs all this distraction to find ways to change the scope of the election cause everything is riding on it. If he loses, he is going to spend the rest of his life fighting criminal charges and litigation. If he wins, he becomes Dear Leader, and our republic is officially gone.

Goddamnit, congressional term limits aren’t a solution to anything. So long as the districts remain the same, it means replacing Louis Gohmert with Louis Gohmert 2, while forcing effective legislators who actually serve their community out with a risk of them being replaced by a fucking lobbyist.

yes, if that is the ONLY change to be made. it has to be several things at once. but i dont see a need for a power structure to be unchanged for a lifetime. provides for the ability to be deep rooted in the system and enact bad legislation. wouldn't be nice if mcconnell wasnt around and his philosophy of obstructionism?

    What's the way out?

Get rid of gerrymandering and citizens united and patriot act. Enact term limits for congress. Find all the levers of government that limit opportunities to vote and destroy them.

*Pigging backing off @brickhorn, properly fund our education system.

It’s funny because society as a whole rejected Donald Trump’s leadership by three million votes.

He shouldn't have even been a viable option in the primaries. Yet here we are, because greed and selfishness is the cornerstone of American Exceptionalism.

Lol, he's reversing the task force comments.

Seriously, if November isn't just a complete ass kicking of this completely inept jerkoff to the curb, we don't deserve to go on as a society.

One could argue that a society that elected him in the first place, does not deserve to go on.

  7. Been looking to incorporate a port into a cocktail since I love a good tawny. Made a port old fashioned with:

    2 oz Rumble

    1 oz Port

    . 5 oz maple syrup

    4 dashes of bitters

I dig it. Tastes like Coca-Cola

Starting to empty the freezer of all the meat rations I loaded up on during Covid season. Felt like making some cheesesteaks. Had some ribeyes from Costco that I sliced thin. Finished with mushrooms and homemade Mustard Blend. Plate is a salad plate for scale. Slammed/went hard. I’ll see myself to some more allopurinol.

  9. All short term rentals, housing less than 8 people, are now allowed. We rented a house on several acres out of town and plan to work from home there and hike/bike/fish etc..... away from people as much we can. Trying to avoid crowded areas at all costs until there are vaccines. Should be safer up there than here in Austin.

Our big trip to the Netherlands and Scotland got canceled with the virus so we decided to social distance in Colorado for a month starting memorial day weekend. We found a place in Fraser/Winter Park and taking the dog and kid. Rocky Mountain national park is essentially in the backyard. Any recs for day trips? Kiddo is 6 and would love to take him fishing and hiking to see wildlife, but also just looking to do cool things in general.

You better hope short term rentals are allowed by then. As of today, they are banned in Grand County through May 21.

Its booked as of yesterday. They started doing phased opening and were told there shouldn't be issues. Went through airbnb and a real estate agent. ::shrug::
