Skip this is you are not in the mood for really dark speculation.

I think Americans are going to get reacquainted with death on a more personal level.  This is not going to be people passing away quietly in private rooms or old folks home.  A lot of Americans will die in their homes with little medical assistance.  For those who are admitted to hospitals, they are going to be treated in large, combined rooms, and the survivors will have watched several people die around them, until they are deemed well enough to go home for self-treatment. When Trump was elected, I felt like we were rolling back the clock decades on several things like treatment of immigrants.  The medical experience we go through is going to be something like the 1930s.

Agreed. Americans have lived in a bubble for a long long time regarding anything like this at scale. It's what has hurt our response to this whole fiasco and why a lot of people thought we could shoulder a person like Trump to shake up the system. Then reality hits and we are so ill prepared at an infrastructure and psychological level to comprehend what is about to hit us.

I love living in a college town where the students cannot afford to hoard shit except ramen and STD's. plenty of TP. beer aisle is low, but that is probably spring break.

Fuck that. I went in and out for the meds and that was it. Car line to get into the parking lot, line to get into store, lines at the registers (moving pretty fast), line to get out.

The Russian parliament approved a sweeping constitutional reform in the third and final reading Wednesday, a move that will allow President Vladimir Putin to stay in power for another 12 years after his current term ends in 2024.

The Kremlin-controlled lower house, the State Duma, endorsed a set of amendments to the constitution and a provision resetting the term count for Putin after the revised constitution goes into force. It passed by a 383-0 vote with 43 abstentions, and was approved by the upper house, the Federation Council, several hours later.

Federally funded tests conducted by scientists from several major institutions indicated that the novel form of coronavirus behind a worldwide outbreak can survive in the air for several hours.

A study awaiting peer review from scientists at Princeton University, the University of California-Los Angeles and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) posted online Wednesday indicated that the COVID-19 virus could remain viable in the air "up to 3 hours post aerosolization," while remaining alive on plastic and other surfaces for up to three days.

Whew.  I was worried Hannity would develop some kind of consciousness; to use his platform to discuss this issue with honesty and concern for the public.

Never fear; he didn't change his ways:

“There’s an MIT guy I noticed on Twitter, and you know he’s saying pretty much the same thing he does research nearly every single day on immune systems he said quote ‘coronavirus fear-mongering by the deep state will go down in history as one of the biggest frauds to manipulate economies, suppress dissent, and push mandated medicines,’” Hannity said, adding, “May be true.”

The person whom the pro-Trump host cited, Shiva Ayyadurai, is a right-wing provocateur who has promoted the far-right conspiracy theory QAnon. He also ran for the Senate in 2018 against Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and repeatedly called her a “Fake Indian,” “fascist,” and “scumbag” during his disastrous campaign.

With COVID-19 having now resulted in dozens of American deaths, tanking stock markets and causing mass cancellations across the nation, Hannity has continued to minimize and downplay the dangers of the disease. The nation’s top expert on infectious disease, however, pointed out to Hannity’s viewers on Tuesday night that he’s “gotta make sure” they understand that coronavirus is at least 10 times as lethal as the seasonal flu, which Hannity and Trump have regularly compared this outbreak to.

If the deep state is so powerful, why doesn't it have a representative in the most powerful position in the history of man?

If Canada installs a wall it will be the Stassi wall to keep their citizens from coming to US for treatment. It takes 10 weeks to get to a specialist in Canada so they come here. Yeah the Orange man is bad, but there is a large amount of stupid halfwit dumbassery written in this thread.

    You just added to it

you sound like an idiot that's never travelled.   If I want to see how the rest of the world lives, I go to the rest of the world and check it out myself.  And I've been a few places that look pretty fucking good relative to what we have.

No fucking lie there. Canada is about to have to install a border wall quickly.

So?  Unless you test every single person in America whether they have symptoms or not you can't figure out how many people have contacted this testing or no testing.  There will be a substantial number who get a mild case and just assume it is a stubborn cold or run of the mill flu.  They will stay home for a few days until they recover and not worry about what they had because they felt whatever it was it wasn't bad enough to go see a doctor about.

Oh cool, let me just get over that pesky cold or flu and then go see my parents or grandparents and tell them everything is fine.....cause it was just a pesky cold/flu. Let me not change anything because I want to be willfully ignorant and possibly spread the virus to those fighting cancer or other major issues. Its ok though, cause its just a pesky cold/flu. You are dangerously dumb.

Dude, this virus only broke out about a month ago.  You don't just snap your fingers and create a vaccine.  If it was that easy we would have cures for every disease known to mankind.  And we are still the country everyone looked to as a model in these times.  As of yesterday there had been 1020 cases reported in a country with a population that will be right around 350 million after the census is finalized.  Compare that ratio to practically any other country on earth.  Turn the goddamn media off.  If the media actually told you how good we have it in this country compared to the rest of the world no one would ever have a reason to watch them and they know that.  That not only applies to this virus but to every supposed shortcoming the U.S. has that they won't shut up about.

The rest of the world has been dealing with this before us. We are just getting this party started.

Think about how fucked we are.

    Then quadruple that.

We’re facing a global crisis with no national leadership. Correction, we have national ANTI-leadership, actively working against the interests of the American people.

    So...super fucked.

Pandemic, market crash, an election with the gates open to foreign interference, and an Admin who only cares about self-perseverance.

    What could go wrong?

It’s like they’re trying to spread it more quickly.

Certainly feels that way. No testing, hiding stats, knee capping the CDC and scientific community. When do we start looking at this as by design instead of incompetence? Of course, this whole term could have that question asked.
