  1. Crazy technical thrash. According to a review I read, their first album came out in 1987, then they disappeared until 2017. They mix a lot of interesting elements into their thrash. Hard to get bored with it.
  2. Time for your nap grandpa.
  3. lulz People dying not worth our time. Fake tweets though.... https://arstechnica.com/science/2022/11/eli-lilly-ceo-says-insulin-tweet-flap-probably-signals-need-to-bring-down-cost/

  5. I really never thought a simple line of text could make me nauseous at this point in my long time on the internet. You win. My stomach loses.

  7. Yeah, let's just focus on our overall agreement on Kissinger.
  8. Two more years of Trump being the center of the US's political coverage is just depressing. I keep randomly checking in to see if he got indicted knowing he it won't happen. Kind of like buying that lottery ticket and for a few days fantasizing about being a millionaire. Instead we'll get the what crazy thing he said today news. The "oh this is really bad for him this time" news. That one is the worst, imo. Oh yeah, this looks bad but they'll get him real soon news. Ugh.
  9. Huh, last I checked this one was losing. Nice. https://oregoncapitalchronicle.com/2022/11/15/oregon-will-be-the-first-state-to-make-affordable-health-care-a-constitutional-right/
  10. It occurs to me there are stricter rules here on Surly.
  11. he's another on my list of proof there is no God. but at this point in his awful life he isn't directly influencing things much I don't think.
  12. It seems a lot of folks have forgotten Fox didn't want him to win the primary the first go round either.
  13. Oh the ever slowly turning wheels of justice that just happen to squash the common man while letting this douche nozzle get away with everything. I watched the Fifth Element for the first time in a few years this past weekend. Luke Perry has a brief bit in it. I was then reminded that Luke Perry is dead. Died at 52 from a stroke. I never watched 90210 but everyone knew of it. From the brief accounts I read he was a well liked person. Then I thought of Clarence Thomas. And now this fat orange psychopath. And someone posted a Bannon clip earlier. Seems evil really does live forever.
  14. What happens to non-billionaires that get caught. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/us/great-danger-couple-sentenced-in-submarine-secrets-case/ar-AA13WaHk
  15. Thread title was dramatic, especially for the many of us who said this demise has been happening for quite some time while given recency appears to be accelerating. The Dems are going to lose the house it appears. The "hooray we didn't lose as bad as we normally would" thoughts don't really bring comfort to me. Not that Dems ever brought complete comfort, but that's another thread. At minimum they aren't trying to openly kill us and take away rights. I know the evil the R's bring, that the SC is bringing to us, and if you don't think 'doomed' then perhaps you're just a more positive person than I when it comes to politics. Edit: Or you inhabit that vague comfortable centrist attitude that only comes from being comfortably above it all.
  16. Eh. Its not ending. Youtube seems to be thriving. Instagram still popular. Kids all over TikTok. It just morphs and the author should know better.
  17. I'm so glad he got booted off twitter only for so many twitter folks to post his truth social missives.
  18. In very local news, I'm happy with these results: Everyone knows the local is where you make the most impact. And the R's were gunning hard for the Mayor and City Council. But espcially the Mayor position. Got sponsored by a PAC led by a giant home developer and the writing on the wall was pretty bad if dude won. Whole council went a bit more progressive and Melanie is a smart good person so yay.
  19. Did my bit and I'm glad she won. Fuck Phil Knight.
  20. So, uh, can they go ahead and indict him now? Not that I'm holding my breath, just wondering what the next excuse is.
  21. I personally have no problem with coming for the AR-15s. But that's one of many reasons I'm happy to be out of Texas. And you made a reasonable post that seems fair. I think after 49 years of living in Texas I just don't see the State ever coming back to a reasonable level. Certainly a bias of mine, but things like Abbot, Cruz, Cornyn, Abortion, e.t.c. reinforce it. It feels to me like decades of being reasonable haven't done much. But again, its my personal opinion and I'm not saying you are wrong. Again, meanwhile in Oregon: https://www.oregonlive.com/politics/2022/11/oregon-measure-114-one-of-strictest-gun-control-measures-in-us-too-close-to-call.html Many folks say this one of the most flawed gun control law out there. It puts the onus of decision making on the police. There is a decent chance it gets overturned in a court. But there is a significant percentage of the population willing to try anything to curb gun violence. It is actually still very close so the article title may be premature. But the fact that it is this close is telling. We all know the bill wouldn't get off the ground in Texas.
  22. Meanwhile, in Oregon That amount of people saying 'nah, need to keep slavery' is disturbing.
  23. I'm not saying I disagree with you. But Texans valuing guns more than children's lives or frankly anything else is part of the insanity that we all view as normal. The concept that you can't say anything negative about guns because it will rally the R's causes me to think the populace gets what it deserves.
