  2. That has been the plan all along imo and not just at the SC level. Analysis: 'Aggressively conservative' Supreme Court plunges into U.S. culture wars https://www.reuters.com/legal/government/aggressively-conservative-supreme-court-plunges-into-us-culture-wars-2022-01-25/ Just wait until they get ahold of workers….

  4. Have not visited this thread in some time. This may be too late for some, but I cannot recommend Dr. Robert Graham in Austin enough for any of your shoulder issues. I had a torn labrum and the first ortho I visited said 'you don't need surgery here is a cortisone shot.' Felt better, not great for a week. Went to Dr. Graham's office--he did not push surgery. He instead gave recommended PT for a certain amount of time and then up to me. I would up doing the surgery and then PT. Absolute game changer in my life. Could throw a baseball with my kid again with no pain. Could put on a shirt again with both arms. All kinds of things. When he went in he found not just a torn labrum, but other things to 'clean up.' Over two years later and shoulder is still doing good. I make sure to always have light weight shoulder movements (side laterals, front raises, e.t.c.) and consider them like flossing. Never heavy, no showing off. All worth it, imo. I won't lie, rehab was one of the most painful things I have ever done. Just the PT doing simple stretches would have me nearly crying. But in the long run was so, so worth it.
  5. Acording to wikipedia Cher is 75 now. She's not imagining more people of her generation and older within the arts dying. Covid related or not. I'm in early 50s and have already noticed it. Getting older as the inevitable dead end roller coaster approaches its final stop isn't all that fun to think about.
  6. Hey, we're all forgetful at times. It was talked about. You can start about here and read up if you want.
  7. RIP Mr. Loaf. Don't really know his stuff other than radio hits and being "Bob" in Fight Club. I don't keep up w/celeb stuff well at all anymore, so didn't know he was anti-vaxx.
  8. I would think most of us don't have an hour during the day to listen to a podcast. But if you find time, I found this episode interesting: If you don't Spotify, it is StarTalk, Jan 18 episode. The guest was very interesting and I may indeed have to check out his book (add it to my backlog). He obviously has a grasp of history as well of science. He seemed actually pretty compassionate towards the ignorant and the misled.
  9. And nobody at Fox will shed a tear, much less be punished.

  11. Hey, I wonder if America's collective BMI has been reduced at all in the last two years?
  12. I would be pretty surprised if he wasn't vaccinated.
  13. Others have covered it well for me. But I'll also offer the aside that people are still going to the hospital from Delta as well.
  14. Unless you're over 65 and/or care about people over 65? Or maybe if you're immunocompromised? Actually, most of them are dug in because they are incredibly stupid. Knuckle draggers who not only can't spell, but can't type. Can't seem to handle even the most basic of logical constructs. Some of them are considering nebulizing hydrogen peroxide. Most of them think the 'blood of Jesus' protects them. They proudly proclaim "I got an immune system" without seemingly understanding what that is or how vaccines help them. Wearing a mask marks you as a 'sheep' but these obese mentally deficient walking co-morbidities are somehow lions. All independent thinking lions who re-tweet from the same meme factory and parrot whatever Fox is telling them to parrot. Who think "let's go Brandon" is a clever retort. And many of them combine that incredible lack of intelligence with an astounding amount of hate for any other human being who would dare suggest they love their neighbor as themselves. And while yeah, some mixed messaging hasn't helped overall, it doesn't really matter. These are idiots who think Candace Owen memes are the way to live their lives. I really had no idea who she was until I started browsing all their entries on sorryantivaxxer or r/hermancainaward. The 'mongering' is all the media they apparently consume 24/7. And at the end, they'll run to the hospital and clog it up (which is another way they are absolutely impacting us, btw) while calling on the 'prayer warriors' to help them before the go fund me for the funeral is set up. The idea that 'covid fear mongers' (I've yet to see one of these, btw) are causing the stupid to not get vaccinated is a pretty damn flawed idea, imo.
  15. Sure. The range of 50k to 300k is pretty large one. Still, even taking the minimum seems like something not that long ago this Nation would have been upset about. Now we're numb.
  16. And this doesn't even take into account long term effects of those who survive but have long Covid. And or some type of organ damage. Just being w/o proper smell or taste for 2.5 months really fucked w/my mental health. Can't imagine dealing with the more serious symptoms. How many months after a covid infection is a heart attack or stroke considered 'not covid related?' I get the feeling we may never really know the true extent of the damage done by this. We'll get a picture, but it won't be complete.
  17. I don't have a television in my bedroom. But this thread nicely reminded me of watching Carl Sagan's "Cosmos" with my Dad when I was a kid. Well, I played with whatever toy I had at the time while Dad watched it. Dad has always had a great interest in science of all types. So the subject didn't bore him. But Sagan's soothing voice never failed to eventually lull him to sleep. Dad is still alive, but this memory was a good one for me that I had not thought about in a long time. Thanks.
  18. https://www.santafenewmexican.com/news/local_news/father-son-coaches-at-mesa-vista-die-from-coronavirus-one-day-apart/article_7a2bf73a-74cf-11ec-94d9-4fc902d696fd.html Father and son, both vaxxed, seemingly healthy. Dead. I've seen a few other anecdotal stories as well with some healthy vaxxed folks (not all elderly) passing from this or doing serious ICU time. I get that anecdotes don't count for data, but there is still a randomness to this thing.
  19. https://apnews.com/article/coronavirus-pandemic-omicron-covid-19-deaths-08f8db29985b992d5ef98ccfa1459eb7 No big deal. Just anywhere between 50,000 to 300,000 more dead people.
  20. The whole situation was as if Arrested Development had a politics episode.

  22. This show was great and moving and spooky. Great stuff and they obviously knew their Catholicism.
