  1. there's zero fucking chance that will happen. you'd be lucky to have the city approve your permit within 6 weeks, and that's assuming you've already got a pool builder lined up with full architectural plans ready to submit for permit approval
  2. it's going to be a fucking pain in the ass. things will go off-schedule, you'll run into issues. the permits and inspections will take fucking forever. my pool was to be completed my memorial day 2019. it was finally finished at the end of september and we had a whole wasted summer. it's all worth it now but it will be stressful
  3. call any pool service company out to get your pentair screenlogic set up. when our pool was done, the pool builder hired a pool service company to come out and set up all the equipment. as far as maintenance, get yourself a test kit and download the pool math app. this is the one i have https://tftestkits.net/test-kits-c4/ and it's awesome. you run your tests (you'll need to test twice a week during the summer as the heat just eats up the chlorine), plug in your test results into the pool math app and it'll tell you exactly how much liquid chlorine or muriatic acid to add. it's very easy and not time consuming our pool in Austin gets sun pretty much 100% of the day and it never got above 86.
  4. i've been keeping it fairly long as i like the way it looks - so mow it short then? thanks for all of the advice
  5. i laid down some fertilizer with pre-emergent about 3 months ago. what would you recommend next? this is a new zoysia yard laid down in october, in austin
  6. i haven't pulled any dead ones. seems like my zoysia takes it over after it's dead. that fucking nutsedge keeps coming back though in other places
  7. just start coughing like a motherfucker when they approach your window. fucking heroes my ass
  8. doesn't seem like the idiot cop was too worried about pathogens when he punched the kid with the bleeding mouth. cut the bullshit
  9. I use B&B with my large BGE and I’ve been pretty happy with it. I need to buy a kick ash basket. I have the CGS adjustable rig and for briskets i do the oval stone at the bottom, followed by a pan 3/4 full of water, then brisket at the top level. I cook hot and fast, 300* in the dome. Do not use any of the digital thermometers. Spritz with Apple cider vinegar and Worcestershire combo each hour, wrap in butcher paper around 160 when it’s dark as hell already, pull after 203 or when it’s probing like butter in the thickest part of the flat. I also trim the brisket pretty good, especially those corner areas in the point where all that hard fat is. Salt and pepper only (2:3 ratio). This is my brisket from a couple of weeks ago. No idea how I got a smoke ring this time as I never get one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. Hey Cactus, question for you. Laid down some zoysia sod in October and put down some Scott’s fertilizer and weed killer. Starting to get quite a bit of weeds, crabgrass i believe. What should I put down? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. wife and kids switched from AT&T to T Mobile because the price difference was just way too much. I still have AT&T through work. AT&T service is definitely better service wise, but the cost savings make up for it.

  19. laid down palisades Zoysia 13 days ago and been watering it twice a day since then. i spread new sod food or whatever it's called on the ground before laying it, and then on top after laying it. how often should i be watering going forward? is there anything else i need to add? oh also, one of the sprinkler install guys says he saw a coral snake. besides nuking the house, anything i can do to repel them?
  20. we are in final stage of construction. Pool has been plastered and full of water, just waiting on finishing touches on the deck but we are able to swim. i'll post pics once everything is ready. took 6+ months from dig to now because my supervisor was an idiot, but we've been able to swim the past two weekends and yes, pools are very much worth it.
  21. thanks for the advice. negatives on st augustine?
  22. need advice on which type of sod to get. getting sprinklers installed as we speak and need to lay sod to replace old bermuda in the front and fix the mess left by pool construction in the back. from everything i've read, palisades zoysia is the one to go with due to the heat in texas. i've never really seen what zoysia looks like though. the back will be fully exposed to sun while the front will have shade of trees part of the day. i really love st augustine though but worried about maintenance. thoughts?
