  1. Nico presser Monday. Over/under on number of times he says, "defense wins championships?" Will we finally get a public seppuku?
  2. Damn, how do you let tiny Trae just get an easy layup like that?
  3. Finally, reverse jinxed this shit into a good game.
  4. I've always thought Kayla was pretty damn funny.
  5. lol Hawks. Fuckin limp dick loser franchise getting run off their own court.
  6. No Use For a Name was one of my favorite bands in HS, and I had probably heard this song a hundred times before I saw Glengarry Glen Ross. Major "holy shit!!!" revelation when I heard that line for the first time.
  7. Well, they are a basketball school in a basketball conference run by Basketball Brett...
  8. I look forward to seeing how many knots Joel Klatt twists himself into explaining this one away.
  9. https://www.oddsshark.com/nba/rockets-warriors-playoffs-preview-2025 Rockets +158, Warrios -188 series odds. Gulp. I'm not confident. Feels like I've seen this playoff movie so many times. Young team on the rise gets dad dicked by the vets. We already have Kerr publicly whining for his team to get the star treatment from officials. I think I just heard Amen get whistled for his 2nd foul.
  10. That Monta Ellis/Curry story is Michael Scottsian. The laughs keep on coming.
  11. He pops up as one of Corey Feldman's friends in The 'Burbs. That scene when they're all watching Bruce Dern fuck around on the roof and he slips and falls off.
  12. I just heard a funny detail about Nico - that he's the brainchild behind "Black Mamba." Is this true? I had always thought it was Kobe who arrogantly ripped a nickname from Kill Bill and claimed it as his own. If Nico was the vapid douchebag culprit of this criminal IP theft, it makes even more sense why he's such a huge Kobe simp. He thinks he co-created "Mamba mentality." more I learn about this guy, the more there is to laugh at.
  13. I became a big fan after seeing him in The Limey. He was fucking hilarious. God his scenes are so good. He was also hilarious in Full Frontal. Random story: I met him once. He hosted a screening for his birthday at a theater out here. Some obscure 70s film(s). Must have been around '07 or '08. My bud and I tried to go full fanboy but he was drunk/high and just wanted to gush about the movie he was showing. He was cool as fuck. I'm sad now.
  14. The poster who used the phrase "his Jackie Sherrill era," has cited his cheating multiple times as the reason the won, and just told me a few posts back that his accomplishments don't count.
  15. I brought them up because they were caught up in the same Adidas scandal. I don't think of Self or Pitino as former cheaters. And two of the greatest cbb coaches of all time having success post-scandal doesn't prove that Miller was cheating harder. I bet some Tennessee fans had similar feelings about Barnes when Tennessee hired him. He hadn't been to the second weekend in seven years. Talk about nothing of note. Woof!
  16. He inherited a Xavier team that missed the tourney the year before and took them to the sweet 16 in year one. Might have gone further if they didn't match up against that talented, vet laden Texas team. Two years ago isn't recent? Also It took Rick Barnes eight years to make a second sweet 16 at Tennessee. If I comb through the Barnes thread, will I find you arguing that Barnes did nothing of note at Tennessee until 2023? Do you think Miller was doing anything more egregious than Self, Pitino, and pretty much every other high level coach in the sport? Was he not just playing the game like everyone else? Who else's accomplishments don't count during that time period? Who was totally clean? You keep harping on his cheating and have even called it his "Jackie Sherrill" era which seems pretty hyberbolic. Oh and if I recall, you jizzed yourself when Beard hired Maligi. You were so excited we were finally gonna play the bag game.
  17. Pablo Torre covered the Adelsons & Mavericks sale on his show (9 months ago before the Luka trade btw). It was a good episode. Cuban & the NBA knew exactly who they were selling to.
  18. It's funny how for a long time now, shows and movies aren't allowed to have passive or overly emotional mob wives. It's always, "the twist is the wife is actually the smart/savvy/ruthless one!" So much so that it's actually become cliche.
  19. Gerry H made a comment this morning (at the beginning of C&F) that Samford hated their coach and wanted him to leave. Wonder what that is about.
  20. If Malone isn't hired as an analyst tomorrow, Miller is a bust.
  21. It's no Teenjus, that's for sure.
  22. It was pretty funny that Gaitok and Mook were all smiles and positive vibes hours after five people left their hotel in a bodybag. This show has never really been about the mystery or whodunit. So I can't say I'm all that disappointed. Maybe a little. I didn't mind the darker, moodier tone. I may be a victim of recency bias but the cast as a whole seemed like the strongest. Jennifer Coolidge was addition by subtraction. Carrie Coon's monologue might have been the best scene in the series. I'm happy for Mike White and impressed he's been able to crank out three solid seasons. Been a fan of his since I saw Chuck and Buck at The Angelika in downtown Houston. This show kinda came out of nowhere and it's kind of amazing that it's become somewhat of a pop culture phenomenon. My thai food prediction was correct btw. I went to get our pickup order and was elbow to elbow with delivery drivers crammed into the front of the place. Order was 30min late. At one point this poor server had like 25 tickets spread across the hostess stand. Reminded me of that scene from The Bear.
  23. 40% 3pt shooters, size, names I can't pronounce. This is more fuckin' like it.
  24. Prediction: Thai restarants will get a nice spike in takeout orders tonight.
