On top of everything else pointed out, sometimes it's just intangible stuff. Like Desmond Howard wearing a cowboy hat, putting a toothpick in his mouth, and proclaiming, "there's a new sheriff in town!" That stupid shit encapsulates the underdog/nobody believes in us/GA vs. everybody motivation Kirby got to drill into his team all week. We were ranked #1. We were the favorite. They had a loss. The whole "welcome to the SEC" new kid in town played a role as well. There was no message Sark could send our players to make them angrier and more desperate than Georgia. Had Georgia beat Alabama and stayed ranked ahead of us, I bet the game plays out differently.
There's also the schedule aspect we can't control. We spent the previous week preparing for and playing in an intense, emotional rivalry game. Georgia got to play the worst team in the SEC and spend two weeks on Texas. Just how it's gonna go sometimes. We had a scheduling advantage vs. Florida this week.
