  1. theres every reason weller should smoke the shit out of old fitz
  2. the tacos were great. we ordered 8 different ones for 3 people and split them. my only regret is we didnt order all that were on the menu. they were all excellent. we had the corn nibs and chips and salsa so did not try the charro beans. next time.
  3. had a fantastic trip last wed-sat. stopped at choke canyon along the way and dug the park. saw about 10 wild turkeys grazing in the campground. breakfast in three rivers sucked. from there to a friends restaurant in edinburg for lunch, then on to the art museum in mcallen, la lomita, and then on to the national butterfly center. had supper at ana liz taqueria (james beard winner and texas monthly top 50 taco). rented a 4-bdrm house in mission for $200/night with a pool. great house! next morning was bentsen state park then teddys bbq. both excellent. teddy's is well-deserving of their top 50 ranking - as good if not better than leroy and lewis and tejas in tomball. then hit santa ana wildlife refuge and quinta mazatlan. more wild turkeys at bentsen, kiskadees, chacalacas, green jays all over, inca doves, orioles, and caracawa at bentsen. supper that night was mi genta (top 50 taqueria). fri was back to my friends place in edinburg for breakfast, laguna acosta wildlife refuge, across the border to progresso (for maybe an hour max), spacex, vera's bbq (top 50 bbq and top 50 tacos). every restaurant i ever ordered barbacoa there was just one listing on the menu - barbacoa. vera's has 20 different kinds - mixta, lamb, brains and eyes, and on and on. we had 4 kinds and i wish i had the other 16. all outstanding. supper that night in harlingen at some old seafood place from the 50's. had the whole flounder and it was top notch. next day stopped in kingsville at the king ranch museum and saddle shop, then on to san antonio and home. its an area of the state i'd never been to and well worth a visit. i plan on going back.
  4. because they cant break the code on their own.
  5. thanks fellas. much appreciated. never been down that way before. whats the over/under on how many times we get stopped by border patrol?
  6. megabump. going down to the valley for spring break. mostly birdwatching, but all bbq and foodie fans. mcallen, brownsville, mission are itinerary stops but no telling what else will might pop up. any recs, other than vera's?
  7. been to billy and southside. southside is better. theres another one down the road in ellinger, next to hruska's. its not worth a stop either.
  8. of the four posters thus far that responded, i seem to be the only one that liked it. i actually considered it above average. there are a lot of borderline psychotics out there dealing with anxieties and mental health issues. jack nicholson's character in good as it gets is another example. they may be having a hard time functioning but they have a warm side too.
  9. musk or vance. both will run. what do you think they can do to stop this?
  10. sally has to be pulling her hair out

did not know this. fuck me. good beer and good food. another one bites the dust.
  12. well, thats just like your opinion, man. but maybe i misunderstood the category. if it was pick your 10 favorite rock and roll songs, you probably wouldnt have heard of any of mine. if it was pick the top 10 rock and roll songs, any list without stairway to heaven, freebird, and hotel california on it is not a legitimate list. thats just the facts, man. no debate about it.
