  1. had a great meal at the tremont. its worth considering. they have a rooftop bar too.
  2. congrats! i went there for the first time spring break. had an epic trip - 2 tx monthly top 50 bbq joints, 3 distilleries, 3 breweries, 3 wineries.
  3. all lives matter
  4. looks like we got ourselves a reader.
  5. i gave up after two episodes. i saw the movie and it was okay, better than this show is. imo, they made a mistake in the casting of both main characters. she was hot in got, but not so much here, and both actors rub me the wrong way. too difficult to watch.
  6. i didnt get the impression from this last trip you were overly enthralled with montmarte. surprised and pleased you are going back for a week there. i'll have to read your website posts when i get a chance.
  7. is there a boardwalk to the beach over the dunes? one of my prerequisites is walk to the beach, and i dont mean down the street either. must be on the beach. there are some dumpy, or at least not so nice, places that fit that bill, and some ultra posh ones too. i've probably stayed at 10 different places down there.
  8. schlitterbahn
  9. where are you staying?
  10. awesome. great pictures. love that city.
  11. what rooftop were these taken from? did you use zoom for eiffel tower/sacre coeur pics?
  12. you've set your bar way too low if those are indicators of optimism for you.
  13. Thats true, and in hindsight she should have done. she looked stunned. somehow they both had it in their head that mike and jonathan had turned on each other and were going to vote against each other. what a misread.
  14. nice synopsis. maryanne just leaped to the top, replacing omar. big, bold move. and she calculated the strategy perfectly. the thick-headed, dumbass men of mike and jonathan just couldnt see it, so voted for romeo. romeo? seriously? romeo? what idiots. he has no shot in winning. take him to the end. make him make fire. he has no chance at either of those. there is 0% chance of romeo winning this game. a vote for him is a complete waste.
  15. ugh. i have no respect for that kind of art. worked at the blanton for 4 years and developed a nice appreciation for some art and learned a lot, but there was so much that i just didnt get. curators would go nuts and pay fortunes for monotone canvases, etc.
  16. is the museum of modern art the same as the pompidou? Tell us some more thoughts on montmarte please. it's quieter than some of the other tourist destinations - less shopping and fine dining, but has an older feel to it. the fact that degas, picasso, utrillo, matisse, renoir, van gogh, etc lived there is cool enough for me.
  17. they didnt get demolished. tom said this may have been the best team to ever lose restaurant wars. it was the concept that killed them, food was good. also its a top chef tradition to introduce your dish every single time you hand it to the judge, even on quick fires. thought it was strange that they would just drop the food off and walk away. that was all on jackson. he should have been there.
  18. the best line of the show. i also liked "you have some buddies. i have no buddies".
  19. agreed. was thinking the writing has dropped off, but hopefully they're just building the foundation with some mundane details.
  20. i made a frittata for easter - asparagus, canned artichoke hearts, onions, and parmesan. i may be done with quiches myself but taking a cast iron skillet to a potluck would not be cool.
  21. she was a better senator than vp, i'll give you that. but i think she's filling the role biden wants her to. which is another reason he's failing - he's not using other leaders to make up for his lack of presence. still, at last count there were 7 million more democrats in the country than republicans. kamala would beat trump if that were to be the 2024 slate.
  22. bacon is an excellent choice. not so sure about the quaaludes, but these days cbd oil seems to be an optional add-on everywhere, and probably wouldnt hurt a quiche none. one other word of warning for the op. pie shells tiny. get the biggest deepest one you can find. most recipes call for 4-5 eggs, and a little cream or milk, and by that time you have little room for the good stuff. thats why you have to be selective with your ingredients. make sure your mixing bowl is ovenproof, then whatever doesnt fit in the pie shell you can bake and eat it yourself.
  23. i love quiches, they're like the garbage disposal of a menu idea - everything is good in them. mushrooms, onions, cheese, broccoli, asparagus, tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, spinach, ham. its really more a question of what you dont want to put in it.
