  1. not sure if serious or sarcastic. i'm telling you it's faux outrage. they aren't really livid. it's a case of methinks thou dost protest too much. it's like a looter getting caught running out of a store with an armful of goods and everyone else going "how could you?" when they all just came out of the store themselves. every one these players pretending to be livid, has been the beneficiary at some point in their career of someone telling them what pitch is coming. they've all done it but this faux outrage is trying to placate the normal naive fan into thinking what a shock this is to all of us that this is going on, when in truth they've known about it, and participated in it, all along.
  2. i'm not opposed to it. technology entering the game is inevitable. my point is that you can't come out with all this faux outrage that "oh wah, poor me, they stole my signs" when you're flashing the signs in front of everyone. it's as simple as changing your signals. what if the catcher flashed a bunch of signals that meant nothing and then tapped his helmet? all 29 teams (and i mean all of them, not just the astros) would be trying to decipher the hand signals when in truth the pitch is called by the tapping of the helmet? the day after signals were invented was the day stealing signals was invented. the day after you allow radio comms to call the pitches will be the day that hacking into those radio comms is invented. it's human nature. it's on you to invent and reinvent your signal system. you cant cry and claim the victim when you're too stupid to realize everyone knows what pitch is coming because of your stupid signal system.
  3. you absolutely can equate the two. you're saying that if the baserunner relays the signs its okay, but if someone in the dugout does it, its not. I call bullshit on that. there is nothing illegal about sign stealing, or even relaying signs. what the rule says is no technology. I call bullshit on that too. in this day and age of technology - cell phones, ai, smartwatches, etc it will be more and more commonplace. the result of this controversy wont be to end sign stealing or relaying, but to initiate the advent of better signals. its not stealing if they give it to you, and the signals are clear for everyone to see. come with a better system.
  4. never realized how many crybabies there were in baseball. and this holier than thou shit is finally getting to me, as if no other player has ever stolen a signal or been the recipient of a relayed signal. it's as old as baseball and goes on at all levels in practically every game. i really thought this would have blown over by now. i'm ready for the astros to kick some ass and shut the haters up.

    Songbirds

heard a girl named emily herring on kutx yesterday and was immediately impressed. need to find out more about her as i liked what i heard.
  6. dude, you have got to remedy that. he's a great man, with great music, and puts on a great concert. i've probably seen him 5 times live and that's not near enough.
  7. What kind of judges do you think Bloomberg is going to put in? you're not seriously arguing with gandorf's point are you? he's right you know.
  8. i'm in the minority on this board and love all their products. that being said none of them, nary a one, zip, zilch, nada, are worth their price point. my two faves are the estacado and the balmorhea, but the cowboy won jim murray's world whiskey of the year one year. he's also awarded the balmorhea once or twice.
  9. my favorite scene so far was last week when rob and parv and sitting on the beach laughing in amazement that they are the two biggest threats here yet aren't getting any votes. even they are shocked the tribe is letting them skate by. unbelievable. danni's insecurity got the best of her. she was committing suicide so they just put her out of her misery. she played a terrible game and deserved to go.
  10. that's about all they do. still worth checking out though.
  11. i lived in braun station so that side of town. i had dates with my wife at peggy's and it's a nice spot, as is fralo's and scenic loop, but nothing matches the cuisine of greater san antonio. southerleigh would be my pick of the restaurants you listed.
  12. agreed. bernie - too socialist, pete - too gay, biden - too alzheimers. i like amy and elizabeth and think both could sway a few independents and even republicans, and beat the donald.
  13. so you're bringing in this date from the hill country or are you trying to pick a place to meet?
  14. the cove maybe? fatboy also gets a lot of raves.
  15. so there's heroin in the box? am i the only one that didn't know that?
  16. i've watched both episodes. i like the show, for a non-premium cable show, it's not made too poorly. some plot holes but solid mindless entertainment/escapism.
  17. If you've got all day to kick around Thurs in Terlingua I'd enter bbnp and do santa elena at least. doesn't sound like your wife is much of a hiker so i would skip lost mines. the window isn't too difficult. friday during the day kicking around ft davis, you might consider madera canyon trail, run by the nature conservancy if by chance it is open. otherwise, there are some easy trails in the state park, and the scenic drive there, and the lodge is worth checking out also. yes, everyone sees the marfa lights. they aren't spectacular but are still mysterious and worth checking out. the paisano is a cool hotel and worth walking through the lobby to see the Giant pics.
  18. no joke. good stuff for a great price.
  19. granger lake is a decent spot.
  20. Great first episode. Going to be a fun season.
  21. i would agree, the smart money is on ohio staying red. florida too, but not mich or penn. it will really depend on the candidate. the right person could swing this for a dem win.
  22. if tonight goes according to history, the hottest chick will be voted out.
  23. that's a pessimistic attitude. we just have to get out the vote in the right places - mich, penn, ohio, fla.
  24. i agree biden needs to step down. he is not mentally sharp. but warren? really stunned that she is not running better. if you look at the top three - buttigieg, sanders, and klobuchar, my vote would have to go to klobuchar. she has the best chance of standing up to trump one on one in an election, and would represent us best in front of the world. i'm extremely worried about trump winning again so whoever we pick needs to have the strength and integrity to win.
