  1. That's not the point. I'm not convinced spending $100M in Iowa gives Sanders an outright win. It's a Bernie thing.
  2. Copy/pasting a fact. You're attempting to minimize it using a sleight. why is that ? Bernie sank, what, about $50M into Iowa and got stood up by the mayor of SBend. His coattails are lacking, or something. You can argue that it's unfair and wrong that he's been pegged as a "Socialist" over which the population has been classically conditioned to get nauseated, but that has real world results. Other candidates share policy views consistent with what Sanders has long advocated and they are successful on their own merits. It's just a factual observation. Crossing Socialism with angry asshole is a lethal combo.
  3. Is that some kind of rebuttal ? Left prong of Hillary horseshoe in full effect. Bernie's "Our Revolution" backed 22 House candidates in 2018 and not a single one won their race amidst a Blue wave. That should give everyone pause.
  4. fun fact: Dems flipped 40 seats in 2018. Bernie’s Our Revolution backed 22 candidates in 2018. Not a single one contributed to that 40 seat total.
  5. Caught a Wasatch storm Sunday night. woke to 7" yesterday with another 7" while we skied. Fresh pow bluebird today. 14" minimum everywhere with lots of knee deep and waist deep turns. Our amazing local friend and guide raised skiing the Alps.
  6. House had to get the bell rolling to scuttle the Trump/Rudy Ukraine scheme. House showed they have the chops and a stable of capable managers. Anyone think GOP Senate is up for round 2, 3, or more ? I don’t. Their act is already running on fumes. Show them this was a false summit, with a shit ton of climbing to go until they fucking puke.
  7. That explains it. It's applying a cold blanket. It keeps the vocal Congressional protesters silenced thought the SOTU. fuck them.
  8. Senate GOP have chosen to yoke themselves to the sham trial coverup. This is the message to hammer as more evidence and testimony flows forth in coming months.
  9. Can’t lose sight of the fact Trump only cared about the “announcement” of investigations. It’s really not even about dirt. It’s a campaign to mislead and to abuse the public trust while harming national security.
  10. The article for Obstruction of Congress is understandable. Without every single key testimony and document being withheld, House could tee some of those up. And now we're possibly about to get a keystone witness. The House presenting the two clean and tight articles allows them to let the Senate/WH lay out it's defense. Nothing stopping House from observing what they do, making adjustments and bringing in more articles while flipping their current defense in their face. I think Senate right now knows the torrent or revelations won't be stemmed regardless of what they do. So their commitment to being the outer ring of the cover-up is starting to disintegrate.
  11. Quite a turn if true. It tells us that Senate GOP knows it's losing its grip. Time to take higher ground and hope the water stops rising.
  12. ---> "Keep in mind that when you hear reports saying GOP Senators are “blindsided” by accounts from Bolton’s book, they are not saying they are blindsided by the facts. They knew the facts. They are blindsided by the failure of the coverup to hold through the end of the trial."
  13. Odds that’s Fruman’s iPhone taking that pic? By now, every person who sees themselves in a photo like this with Lev has to recognize there’s also an iPhone voice recording. These two are mobsters doing mob business. Lev was the engaging one with good English, Igor was the sound guy you weren’t paying attention to. Blackmail and kompromat 101. Hi Pam!
  14. Kaiser Family Foundation = Monsanto and Exxon Mobile? What, no Phillip Morris and Purdue Pharma ?? lol It's a hard sell when you have thin skin and get emotionally derailed over confrontations you should have rehearsed to the letter in your sleep. With that in mind, convincing up to 60% swing voters in 4 pivotal states who think single payer is a "bad idea" to vote for Bernie is daunting. Even if they are outnumbered by tens of millions nationally, it won't matter electorally in the general.
  15. What's your point? Bill Kristol, that evil neocon, is afraid of Bernie ? I'm looking at possibly 60% of swing voters in MI, MN, WI, and PA considering single payer with no choice as a "bad idea" combined with Sanders' grouchy fumble when asked about the estimated 60T price tag over 10 years on his whole package.
  16. Yeah, but no. Mitch has known since the WH knew.
  17. This Is How Trump Would Destroy Bernie Sanders " [...] Take his signature proposal, single-payer healthcare. A poll conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation found that 60 percent of swing voters in the pivotal states of Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin consider it a “bad idea.” Other polls consistently show that most Americans favor protecting their access to private insurance—including working people happy with the coverage their unions fought to secure. One wonders whether Sanders envisions using a general election campaign to undertake their reeducation. Further, Americans of many stripes are endemically dubious about the quality and responsiveness of government programs. Having suffered the ministrations of their local Bureau of Motor Vehicles, they imagine standing in line, literally and figuratively, to receive mediocre healthcare. Then there is cost. Asked about this, Sanders has said “I don’t give a number and I’ll tell you why: it’s such a large number and so complicated that if I gave a number you and 50 other people would go through it say, ‘Oh…’” Instead, Sanders argues generally that all but the wealthy would save more—by abolishing premiums, copayments, and deductibles—than they would pay in increased taxes. But Sanders rarely mentions the failure of his home state of Vermont to enact a single-payer program—precisely because no one in either party could figure out how to pay for it. Come September, Trump would not be quite so reticent. A candidate less doctrinaire than Sanders would appreciate that Republicans have gift wrapped this issue by attempting to abolish Obamacare and, with it, popular protections such as coverage for pre-existing conditions. All Democrats need do is give Americans a choice between private insurance and Medicare for those who want it. The alternative is electoral malpractice—a self-inflicted debate mired in charges that the Democrats are narrowing choice and raising taxes. Which is exactly what Bernie promises his nominal party. [cont.]" Bernie has to be better prepared for this. It is electoral malpractice to not be. Seeing him revert to being an indignant crank when confronted with the obvious is really bad. no bueno.
  18. Either way they’re screwed because it won’t stop the truth from coming out. Right now it’s about Senate GOP trying to skirt Bolton and other witnesses without being exposed for perping a broad coverup - now OR later that every Joe can see. That’s the calculus.
  19. There's truth in that jest, but see the previous rat and boa analogy I used regarding Pelosi's approach. Given evidence to the contrary, a lie in isolation is a lot easier to believe than a continuous train of lies. The continuous train of lies erodes under constant attack until you reach the proverbial tipping point. The House understands this. It's probably part of the reason they didn't impeach with everything they had including Mueller report, emoluments, etc. Instead it's going to be a slow sustained squeeze, and GOP Senate suddenly has an ankle in a coil. Re Boltons' notes: I think I read somewhere that whatever notes Bolton took with him after he left the WH staff are not covered by Executive Privilege. House might want to take a look at those. Wait, did Schiff just say something about notes ?
