  1. No new LHN ads in years, but they still make me smile.
  2. Denison defeated Sherman 29-13 in the 121st Battle of the Ax. The Jackets retain the Ax for the seventh consecutive year. 2022 Longhorn offer Jadarian Price rushed for 111 yards and a td on 11 carries before leaving the game with a left ankle sprain shortly before halftime.
  3. You could sit in right field for two bucks, (right field was shadier plus you could see the scoreboard) and if you parked at the factory across the street you didn't have to pay for parking. Beer was two bucks. I went to thirty or forty games a year back in the day.
  4. I actually saw a case like this during my residency.
  5. So nobody gives a flip about Josh Hamilton joining the Rangers HOF? Me either.
  6. We all owe Dustin Hoffman a debt of gratitude.
  7. I’m getting pretty damn tired of squirrels. In my attic.
  8. Seriously-an American treasure. RIP.
  9. Look for the heroes. Janitor dude, little white guy with a back pack, big Hispanic dude with BC shirt on, some of the women who rallied to protect white tank lady. Then, Paul Blarrt shows up and saunters through the scene with absolutely no impact.
  10. I have followed him on social media for a couple of years as he strove to lose weight and regain some physicality. He was a delightful follow, and was an inspiration. Rest in Peace, Jared.
  11. When I was a senior in high school (1973), I bought a pair of red white and blue stars and stripes socks at the local CR Anthony"s store. My dad saw them, and immediately whipped out a little gray paperback "Uniform Flag Code" booklet. Long story short, I never wore the socks. Here's a link. http://www.usflag.org/uscode36.html ps-being a college professor, he made me read it and then gave me a quiz. Miss that old soldier.
  12. This is a horrible tragedy. Turns out that Mr. Graniel ran afoul of a local gangster by the name of Christian Espat, and Dr. Swank was "collateral damage". A "young woman", who was "close to Mr. Graniel", has been taken in to custody. https://edition.channel5belize.com/archives/187141 This morning, a wanted poster for twenty-three-year-old Christian Espat, a well-known person to police and alleged gangster on San Pedro Town, began circulating on social media. Espat was reportedly wanted for questioning for the double murder of tour guide Mario Graniel and prominent US doctor Gary Swank. On Wednesday, several persons including a woman were detained for questioning. Both men were killed on Sunday morning while fly fishing a mile west of San Pedro Town. Investigators believe that Doctor. Swank was a victim of circumstances while Graniel is said to have been the target. Prior to his murder, a lone gunman targeted Graniel at his apartment in the Boca del Rio area, however, Graniel failed to report the matter to the police. According to Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, Graniel had a misunderstanding with a notorious gang figure in San Pedro town. And while police continue their investigations, Espat has taken to social media to not only deny accusations of his alleged involvement in the double murder, but also proclaimed his innocence. Espat recorded a one minute video in which he says that he will hand himself over to San Pedro police because he has absolutely no involvement in the murder of Mario Graniel and Doctor Gary Swank.
  13. Alvin is one of the best guys with whom I've shared a boat. Longhorn through and through, patient, witty, and a hell of a guide. Highly recommend.
  14. Sucks to be me-wife booked Spirit for some reason to return from Orlando. (I swore I'd never board a Spirit plane again). Scheduled to land at DFW about 2:30. Take off delayed an hour, then diverted to Houston Bush about halfway in. Spent an hour on the tarmac, another hour in the terminal, then headed back to DFW. Landed, spent half an hour on the tarmac, then deplaned about 7 pm. Considering the shitstorm that was DFW yesterday, Spirit did okay. I was home in my jammies by eight o'clock. Our captain said there was a GPS failure at DFW.
  15. So David Ortiz got shot-prayers for Big Papi.
  16. Except McMurry. It's the pride of our western prairie.
  17. Jerry fishing with Bobby Knight in the Boundary waters may be the best outdoors episode ever. Who knew Bob Knight had a sense of humor? Most of the Walker's Cay episodes are available on the Hells Bay Boats web site. Sucks for me because I run a Beavertail.....
  18. I'm thinking they got their claim in late. Has to be filed in less than forty days-and nights.
